I Am Not A Lawyer Disclaimer: My thought is this. Saying that Amber "pledged" an amount of money is meaningless, like saying, "Oh yeah, I'll get to it." Just an idea, you know. The distinction is important, because she did "pledge" to do so, and its her lawyer's job to differentiate the idea from the action. Donating is a tangible action that she can be held accountable for, pledging isn't.
The fact that her literal psychologist explained how she tends to minimize all wrongdoing on her part and maximize wrongdoings on everyone else was clearly proven after this cross exam. The absolute best moment in this case was when Amber mentioned Johnny’s relationship with Kate Moss. The defense was NOT allowed to use Johnny’s previous relationships in their case, which ment they weren’t allowed to even mention for example his relation with Kate Moss. The only way for the defense to be able to address these previous relationships, was if Amber herself referred to them…which she did!!! This allowed the defense to call Kate Moss as a witness. I don’t know if her lawyer didn’t give Amber clear instructions to “whatever you say, DO NOT mention his previous relationships” or Amber just ignored their instructions.
Probably the second option, because look at how blantantly she was screwing over her lawyers already by claiming its all their fault, so its not that far a reach that she would have been completely ignoring her lawyer

My sister was in an actual abusive relationship and the pictures she had are absolutely horrible. Like the bruises are so bad and he didn't wear rings or anything. You can't just cover it up with makeup. Amber is an insult to women who have actually been abused.

Just commented the same exact thing. Except I was the one in the abusive relationship, and I was left in the woods to die after he beat me to a pulp. My neighbors ended up testifying in court and said I looked like a victim straight out of a CSI episode. And at my protection order hearing he admitted (after he was already convicted of DV) and he “thought he killed me so he dragged my body into the woods so he could come back at night and bury me later”. Even after all that I still got “what did you do to make him so angry” “you must have provoked him” “there’s no way he did that to you, he’s such a good guy”. Next Sunday will be my “escape day” anniversary and I haven’t spoken about it at all to anyone because of this trial. I just know someone is going to say “are you sure you’re not pulling an Amber Turd and making it up” 😞 Everyone is watching this case play out and living for the jokes making fun of her, but this case will have serious repercussions for victims. This is going to plant that seed of doubt into everyone’s mind which discourages victims to even attempt to come forward. Which in end will result in the murder of more victims…we’ve made so much progress over the past few years only for her to tarnish it all just to get back at her ex. It’s insane, she literally had it all. Money, fame, a blooming career, clearly tons of support, and she’s drop dead gorgeous. She didn’t need to do this. I am male. I was being drugged and abused by a woman. She'd apologise, guilt trip me, then it would happen again. People knew and said they would back me up. When the time came they wouldn't. They wouldn't even speak with police. All she had to do was lie about me. Call me violent and a creep and a liar. I became toxic in wider circles and as a result the people who should've backed me up didn't. I never touched her but she did me, over and over. I had explicit messages and videos of her molesting me in my sleep but people wouldn't even look It made me very damaged and scared of women. Eventually I realised it was all planned from the start. (Not all) women can be incredibly manipulative especially around men. The being abused, bad response from police don't hurt that bad. What really hurts is the way my friends, family, support networks ostrisized me because they were worried how people would perceive them. I had to deal with being made homeless, when I was still having nightmares about what happened. After therapy I was diagnosed with CPTSD which is permanent. There was 0 help. I had to fight for the 1st job, wash in the shower at work, save my money, rent a place, rebuy everything etc. It's 3 years later and I still don't have carpets. The way people just left / continue to just leave me to get on with it are the parts that really hurt. (Some) women will just lie about things like this and have absolutely 0 remorse. A lot of the time when they are lying, it's because they are doing something wrong themselves (like amber Heard cheating etc). It's important if you have a friend going through this that you speak with them about it and get the full story.
I hope one day you can heal from this experience and find people that truly care for you, the fact you've made such progress in rebuilding your life independently shows your inner strength. shame on all those people who failed/chose not to support you. it's very sad because if the genders were reversed people would react differently, men facing abuse should be taken just as seriously as any woman...

Btw just a bit of insight from a law student of 3 years. The reason why Amber's lawyers are constantly throwing up objections aren't because they are desperate or actually believe the objections will work. They are trying to disrupt the rhythm of Johnny's lawyer so the testimony doesn't hit as hard as it could. It's a very common tactic of trying to bore the jury with constant disruptions so they might miss critical details or forget them once the trail is over. Which can take many months.
I like that you pointed this out. We (everyone watching) got to see both sides of how to use objections in this case. Seeing Elaine use it just as a means to distract, but also Camille in that one where she was able to rightly ID objectionable questions and rip Elaine a new one.
Looking back I forgot how Amber was basically cremated on the spot, I have never seen a Hollywood career die that fast, her career essentially spontaneously combusted into a roaring bonfire on the spot

it feels like the kwite case, or dream. where dream was accused of being a groomer (at the same time his face revealed) and kwite being accusing of SA. both were like “believe the victims first” and people who do thats defense is “thats why they don’t wanna come out” but the dream case felt like to me that “oh well those messages could be photoshopped, but what if they’re not?” it’s extremely confusing and i think “it could be photoshopped” because of things like this, where people lie about SA and grooming. when people lie, others are like “they could be lying like --‘s case.” and it makes it hardly believable.

As someone who does boxing, and as someone who has been hit in the face through actual fist fights, I’ve never seen anyone have ice heal their wounds in a few hours😂I remember multiple occasions of having multiple large welts post fighting due to getting punched. The people I fought are significantly smaller than Johnny Depp so I know for a fact she has either the regeneration of Deadpool or is full of shit😂

Real talk, as someone that was abused by his ex-wife, this hits really close to home. It's a decade later, and I finally confronted her about it, and she said it was my fault she did it and that she's never forgiven me because I haven't owned up to that. She is still presenting me as the villain in the scenario because I won't say I deserved to be hit. She said it was also my family's fault because she controlled my phone and social media accounts and read messages where they were telling me to leave her because she was hitting me. They were watching her abusing me and they told me to leave. She said if I loved her I would have cut them out and told them not to say things like that. I say all this, not to say, "I'm a victim, give me sympathy." I say it because this case is forcing me to relive it. It's forcing me to confront it. I feel safe talking about it now because I can see that it's possible to be believed. I spent a decade brainwashed into believing I had done something wrong, that I didn't try hard enough, and that I should have done things differently. I also want to address the memes. I welcome them. Just a year ago, the memes were Terry Crews being ridiculed and emasculated for admitting he was abused. Now the memes are focused on the abuser. She's the object of ridicule. That's how it should be. Fucking cunt.

The thing that annoyed me most about Amber was EVERY TIME SHE ANSWERED she would turn to look at the jury, not the lawyer. So disrespectful and acting as if that will gain you any sort of sympathy is ridiculous.
As someone who's had a broken nose, it messes up basically the entire front of your face. You get bruises under your eyes -- not eyebags, you get actual bruise swelling, which can even look like a black eye. There's so many layers to how her story can't have worked.
I've been in a fight where I was hit in the face a couple of times and yeah, for next few days one of my eyes was swollen, I had a busted lip, and my cheeks were bruised. Everyone I knew immediately recognized I was in a tussle and asked if I was okay, if I need to go to the hospital (which I did when my head wouldn't stop hurting), and what happened. And it was obvious too, my face looked like a balloon with how swollen it looked, like if you poked me with a needle I'd pop. If Amber was really beaten, It would have shown on her face and stayed that way for a few days before even showing signs of recovering, and even then the damage would still be obvious.
Doesn't even take a broken nose. Any reasonably hard hit to the face will cause significant swelling and bruising for several days if not weeks that you can't just cover with make-up. There isn't enough tissue to absorb that force before it gets squished against bone. You certainly wouldn't go before any cameras looking like that. And if she actually believed her nose to be broken there's no way she wouldn't have seen a doctor immediately; for the pain if not for worry about her face - arguably her most important asset as an actress. This all comes across like a 5th grader being caught is an obvious lie yet insisting that it's all true despite overwhelming proof to the contrary.

When she talked about covering her bruise with makeup, she listed the steps out of order. She said foundation, concealer, and then "bruise kit" (she corrected herself to "theater makeup" real quick) to refer to color correction makeup (blue, green, purple) Those are the steps to create a bruise, not cover one up. To cover up a bruise, you would use color correction first.

So I took law classes through out highschool. And we would do mock trails and actually had a lawyer talk to us and teach us what it’s like to be a lawyer. One of the things he said was “make sure u instruct your client to NEVER look at the jury when giving testimony. Even when not on stand make sure they don’t ever look at them. It’s seen as intimidation”

Her broken nose story was absolutely laughable man. Just as Charlie suggested, I once had a friend throw a basketball right into my nose from point blank range when he tried to make a pass and my nose bled like a hose and the swelling around my nose and eyes could not have been covered by a basic layer of make up. Her face in the pictures is literally spotless.
when i broke my nose (tripped over my own feet and fell face first on a set of stairs) my whole face swelled up and i had a permanent black eye for months. like i looked so bad i was exempt from PE for the rest of the year, and this happened in february.
I'm not defending her in any way. But I use to be in an abusive relationship. I was punched in the nose and my nose now is bent. My left eye was swollen for days but surprisingly no one at dental school noticed or said anything after I applied makeup on my bruising.

It’s a common mindset. Domestic abuse among men is almost, if not equally high as the percentage of female victims. Unfortunately, the media most often seems to focus on the latter, calling male victims all kinds of words and disregarding their voices. coming back to this after a year and reading through comments, its crazy to see how many guys have been in a relationship where they were being battered and beat all the time. My peace and love goes out to everyone in an abusive relationship. I know its probably a lot harder for guys to prove their case though obviously seen in this case. I've gotten punched (sucker punched actually) by some scrawny dude who was half my size and he was wearing brass knuckles. Just once, and he hit me in the eye. The next day my face was barely recognizable, I ended up with a fractured socket and had 17 stitches, which I still have scars from today. As horrific as that was, I'll take brass knuckles over chunky rings all day. I would've lost my eye had that little punk been wearing the same rings that Johnny wears. BTW dude got arrested, violated parole, long story but he actually died cause he ODed on fent ... Didn't know it at the time but found out later he bounced around foster homes and was the victim of severe abuse since he was an infant. My thought is this. Saying that Amber "pledged" an amount of money is meaningless, like saying, "Oh yeah, I'll get to it." Just an idea, you know.
The distinction is important, because she did "pledge" to do so, and its her lawyer's job to differentiate the idea from the action. Donating is a tangible action that she can be held accountable for, pledging isn't.
The fact that her literal psychologist explained how she tends to minimize all wrongdoing on her part and maximize wrongdoings on everyone else was clearly proven after this cross exam. The absolute best moment in this case was when Amber mentioned Johnny’s relationship with Kate Moss. The defense was NOT allowed to use Johnny’s previous relationships in their case, which ment they weren’t allowed to even mention for example his relation with Kate Moss. The only way for the defense to be able to address these previous relationships, was if Amber herself referred to them…which she did!!! This allowed the defense to call Kate Moss as a witness. I don’t know if her lawyer didn’t give Amber clear instructions to “whatever you say, DO NOT mention his previous relationships” or Amber just ignored their instructions.
Probably the second option, because look at how blantantly she was screwing over her lawyers already by claiming its all their fault, so its not that far a reach that she would have been completely ignoring her lawyer

My sister was in an actual abusive relationship and the pictures she had are absolutely horrible. Like the bruises are so bad and he didn't wear rings or anything. You can't just cover it up with makeup. Amber is an insult to women who have actually been abused.

Just commented the same exact thing. Except I was the one in the abusive relationship, and I was left in the woods to die after he beat me to a pulp. My neighbors ended up testifying in court and said I looked like a victim straight out of a CSI episode. And at my protection order hearing he admitted (after he was already convicted of DV) and he “thought he killed me so he dragged my body into the woods so he could come back at night and bury me later”.
Even after all that I still got “what did you do to make him so angry” “you must have provoked him” “there’s no way he did that to you, he’s such a good guy”. Next Sunday will be my “escape day” anniversary and I haven’t spoken about it at all to anyone because of this trial. I just know someone is going to say “are you sure you’re not pulling an Amber Turd and making it up” 😞
Everyone is watching this case play out and living for the jokes making fun of her, but this case will have serious repercussions for victims. This is going to plant that seed of doubt into everyone’s mind which discourages victims to even attempt to come forward. Which in end will result in the murder of more victims…we’ve made so much progress over the past few years only for her to tarnish it all just to get back at her ex.
It’s insane, she literally had it all. Money, fame, a blooming career, clearly tons of support, and she’s drop dead gorgeous. She didn’t need to do this.
The only way I would even think about giving her an ounce of respect back would be if she just admitted to her faults and accept accountability. And most importantly apologize…but she wont. (Not all) women can be incredibly manipulative especially around men. The being abused, bad response from police don't hurt that bad. What really hurts is the way my friends, family, support networks ostrisized me because they were worried how people would perceive them. I had to deal with being made homeless, when I was still having nightmares about what happened. After therapy I was diagnosed with CPTSD which is permanent. There was 0 help. I had to fight for the 1st job, wash in the shower at work, save my money, rent a place, rebuy everything etc. It's 3 years later and I still don't have carpets. The way people just left / continue to just leave me to get on with it are the parts that really hurt.
(Some) women will just lie about things like this and have absolutely 0 remorse. A lot of the time when they are lying, it's because they are doing something wrong themselves (like amber Heard cheating etc). It's important if you have a friend going through this that you speak with them about it and get the full story.

Btw just a bit of insight from a law student of 3 years. The reason why Amber's lawyers are constantly throwing up objections aren't because they are desperate or actually believe the objections will work. They are trying to disrupt the rhythm of Johnny's lawyer so the testimony doesn't hit as hard as it could. It's a very common tactic of trying to bore the jury with constant disruptions so they might miss critical details or forget them once the trail is over. Which can take many months.

As someone who does boxing, and as someone who has been hit in the face through actual fist fights, I’ve never seen anyone have ice heal their wounds in a few hours😂I remember multiple occasions of having multiple large welts post fighting due to getting punched. Real talk, as someone that was abused by his ex-wife, this hits really close to home. It's a decade later, and I finally confronted her about it, and she said it was my fault she did it and that she's never forgiven me because I haven't owned up to that. She is still presenting me as the villain in the scenario because I won't say I deserved to be hit. She said it was also my family's fault because she controlled my phone and social media accounts and read messages where they were telling me to leave her because she was hitting me. They were watching her abusing me and they told me to leave. She said if I loved her I would have cut them out and told them not to say things like that.
I say all this, not to say, "I'm a victim, give me sympathy." I say it because this case is forcing me to relive it. It's forcing me to confront it. I feel safe talking about it now because I can see that it's possible to be believed. I spent a decade brainwashed into believing I had done something wrong, that I didn't try hard enough, and that I should have done things differently.
I also want to address the memes. I welcome them. Just a year ago, the memes were Terry Crews being ridiculed and emasculated for admitting he was abused. Now the memes are focused on the abuser. She's the object of ridicule. That's how it should be. Fucking cunt.

As someone who's had a broken nose, it messes up basically the entire front of your face. You get bruises under your eyes -- not eyebags, you get actual bruise swelling, which can even look like a black eye. There's so many layers to how her story can't have worked.
And then her nose just magically reset itself without treatment, back to her perfect state before-hand, within an hour

I've been in a fight where I was hit in the face a couple of times and yeah, for next few days one of my eyes was swollen, I had a busted lip, and my cheeks were bruised. Everyone I knew immediately recognized I was in a tussle and asked if I was okay, if I need to go to the hospital (which I did when my head wouldn't stop hurting), and what happened. And it was obvious too, my face looked like a balloon with how swollen it looked, like if you poked me with a needle I'd pop.
If Amber was really beaten, It would have shown on her face and stayed that way for a few days before even showing signs of recovering, and even then the damage would still be obvious.
Doesn't even take a broken nose. Any reasonably hard hit to the face will cause significant swelling and bruising for several days if not weeks that you can't just cover with make-up. There isn't enough tissue to absorb that force before it gets squished against bone.
You certainly wouldn't go before any cameras looking like that.
And if she actually believed her nose to be broken there's no way she wouldn't have seen a doctor immediately; for the pain if not for worry about her face - arguably her most important asset as an actress.

When she talked about covering her bruise with makeup, she listed the steps out of order. She said foundation, concealer, and then "bruise kit" (she corrected herself to "theater makeup" real quick) to refer to color correction makeup (blue, green, purple)
Those are the steps to create a bruise, not cover one up. To cover up a bruise, you would use color correction first.

So I took law classes through out highschool. And we would do mock trails and actually had a lawyer talk to us and teach us what it’s like to be a lawyer. One of the things he said was “make sure u instruct your client to NEVER look at the jury when giving testimony. Even when not on stand make sure they don’t ever look at them. It’s seen as intimidation”

Her broken nose story was absolutely laughable man. Just as Charlie suggested, I once had a friend throw a basketball right into my nose from point blank range when he tried to make a pass and my nose bled like a hose and the swelling around my nose and eyes could not have been covered by a basic layer of make up. Her face in the pictures is literally spotless.
when i broke my nose (tripped over my own feet and fell face first on a set of stairs) my whole face swelled up and i had a permanent black eye for months. like i looked so bad i was exempt from PE for the rest of the year, and this happened in february.
I'm not defending her in any way. But I use to be in an abusive relationship. I was punched in the nose and my nose now is bent. My left eye was swollen for days but surprisingly no one at dental school noticed or said anything after I applied makeup on my bruising.

It’s a common mindset. Domestic abuse among men is almost, if not equally high as the percentage of female victims. Unfortunately, the media most often seems to focus on the latter, calling male victims all kinds of words and disregarding their voices. coming back to this after a year and reading through comments, its crazy to see how many guys have been in a relationship where they were being battered and beat all the time. My peace and love goes out to everyone in an abusive relationship. I know its probably a lot harder for guys to prove their case though obviously seen in this case. Overwhelming amount of evidence proving otherwise, yet still before the court hearing there were so many who just assumed Depp to be the abuser because of gender based norms.

I only got a rundown of what liberalism vs capitalism vs communism vs socialism was. That's about it, and then what happened under the cold war, but I kinda forgot major parts of that.

It makes me sick whenever people say that only women could be abused or raped. Men can also be abused. I've gotten punched (sucker punched actually) by some scrawny dude who was half my size and he was wearing brass knuckles. Just once, and he hit me in the eye. The next day my face was barely recognizable, I ended up with a fractured socket and had 17 stitches, which I still have scars from today.
As horrific as that was, I'll take brass knuckles over chunky rings all day. I would've lost my eye had that little punk been wearing the same rings that Johnny wears.
BTW dude got arrested, violated parole, long story but he actually died cause he ODed on fent ... Didn't know it at the time but found out later he bounced around foster homes and was the victim of severe abuse since he was an infant. In that occurrence, many things like the recording of her saying she hit him are being falsely marked as 100% proof for that assumption, which it's not. I dont believe she is innocent, but if youre going to build an opinion, do it on all the evidence there is and not on the vast majority saying how obvious it is, on the charisma of Johnny, or on the fact that she cried badly, since (etc.). And again: Of course all those things are red flags, but not actual evidence, so you can "build an opinion on them" but not only them.
