When it was reveal that she was the one who murder ashfur, I was truly shocked. The code following, good one was the one who broke the most sacred code?! That was when she was finally interesting to me. Before I just skipped hollyleaf sections

I was waiting for you, WAITING. but yeah, the fact holly never had a power, made it feel interesting in pot, when she figured that out, and me technically, it made me want to keep reading the books, wich were already getting boring. i knew something bad would happen, i thought she'd be jealous and go crazy and kill some peeps. im glad it did happen, because i knew she'd come back and be a bomb ass warrior.
I agree that Dovewing has a horrible or non existent character arc. I just recently went back to re-read Omen of the stars because of a Moonkitti vid where she made me question my opinion about Dovewing and Ivypool. And I came to almost the same conclusion you did. Ivypool as an awesome character arc (hence the reason I like her) and Dovewing has none which is of course not her fault, but makes it hard for me to like her. Though the traits about her you mentioned made me like her a little bit more. All in all Dovewing definitely has gotten the short end of the stick and the writers did a horrific job, which says a lot because I usually love warriors, well the 5 and 6th season aren't exactly great either.
Dovewing had such great setup. And then Tigerheart's Shadow happened. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand yeeeah. She has several good moments in that book, but leaving ThunderClan so her kits can be with their father is selfish and stupid. Kits belong with their birth clan this has been a hard and fast rule since The Prophecy Begins when Leopardfur comes asking for Featherkit and Stormkit saying they belong with RiverClan and Graystripe only leaves with them because he felt responsible for them. Sasha gave Hawkfrost and Mothwing to RiverClan because she wanted them to have a better life, same with Princess and Cloudtail. Bluestar gave up her kits to follow her destiny and prevent Thistleclaw becoming clan leader. Bramblestar stayed in his birth clan, while an OLDER Tawnypaw CHOSE ShadowClan due to not feeling accepted in ThunderClan outside of her brother and mentor Brackenfur and her mother Goldenflower-she left ThunderClan but she never forgot her birthclan. The reasons for leaving or staying in a Clan is solely based on where a warrior feels where they belong and the last time they made a choice for the kits, Twigpaw (Such a stupid name) and Violetshine were separated with one staying in SkyClan and the other ThunderClan. What Dovewing's done will surely affect her kits for a long time and I'm willing to bet at least one would rather be in ThunderClan than ShadowClan. But only time will tell.
Another well-thought out, reasoned video breaking down a the potential of a Warriors character versus what we actually got! Dovewing had so much potential to be an interesting character, but I always felt throughout OotS that she kept getting sidelined by Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Ivypool, and never truly got to come into her own, leaving her feeling like an afterthought in the story.
I would have loved to see Dovewing a villain, maybe her desire to repair the bond with her sister, she openly would harass, bully and maybe even torture other cats just to get Ivypool's attention.
Yeah! And i like this idea, even with breaking Dovewing's personality, mostly because this would be Dovewing not really understanding what her sister did, but seeing that she got attention and turned away from her, só Dovewing could do what she understood of what Ivypool did, even not being really what Ivypool did (bullying cats, torturing, harassing, etc)
I don't like dovewing but I can see why people do like her. She's relateable, she doesn't try to change herself to make other cats happy, she just bes herself.
What I personally would also have loved is Dovewing proving to Lion, Jay, and the readers she SHOULD be the true third cat. Lionblaze and Jayfeather never show much respect for Dove, especially on occasions when Dove doesn't want to use her powers because it goes against her morals. I was just waiting for her to finally snap and explain why she and no one should abuse their power like that. I really wished the Erins had explored Jay and Lion's grief over Hollyleaf as well, and that could easily tie in why they don't really trust or believe in Dovewing. She's just a stupid apprentice replacing Holly. But Dovewing proves herself and comes into her own, eventually maturing and becoming more responsible and levelheaded in her search for the respect she so rightfully deserves.

Clare Gundersen again she isn’t a Mary Sue. She makes mistakes and has faults. Even got in trouble for everything she did. Which isn’t what a Mary Sue is. Mary Sue is a perfect character which isn’t dovewing

I mean it was most likely because Gray Wing didn't pay any attention to her and was just chasing after Storm. She didn't wanna see the love of her life get together with someone else and ran away from it all.
I came here expecting to see a youtuber give yet another rant about a character I personally like. I came here, and I was wrong. Not only do I appreciate that you took the time to go in-depth about her as a character, and not just put a 'mary sue' stamp on and go, but I also love that it's not just praise. Dovewing is a great character and in my opinion, one of the least credited in the warriors series. But that doesn't mean she's flawless, or that her writing is flawless. All in all I think this and moonkitti's breezepelt video are the two best and most realistic of their type, and I can't wait to see what else you have in store.
I’m on the fence about Dovewing, I don’t hate her but I don’t really like her. Although I’ve been leaning towards liking her because of how her character was in Tigerhearts shadow. I really want to see how she settles down with Shadowclan in the sixth book of the Vision of Shadows arc since it’s a new clan for her.
I never really liked Dovewing. But the points you brought up made me realize "Oh my gosh, she's not just a Mary Sue after all!" I like her a little more now, and even have a higher respect. Though, I love Ivypool still, I like Dovewing too. Thank youu!
I lovewing Dovewing too! She's my favorite character (tied with Ravenpaw). And while I personally loved reading her chapters as they are(yes, even the TigerDove chapters) I whole heartedly agree that we didn't get enough done with her that could have been done. Remember how she could hear cats dying on the other side of the lake but could do nothing to help them? Or when they were in the mountains and she heard that one cat being eaten after it were carried away by the hawk? Or how she blamed herself for not hearing the tree fall sooner and thought it was her fault for what happened to Briarlight and Longtail? I REALLY wish they had delved more into her emotional and mental state with all that. Because that's some seriously traumatizing stuff right there. I did really enjoy her in Tigerheart's Shadow however, and I LOVE reading about her as a mother, which that on it's own gives so much more room for future stories with her. And OOF! That bit at the end of River of Fire, reading about Thunderclan's reaction to her joining Shadowclan, I felt awful for her. But at the same time, i'm excited to see what else will come of her decision. It might be a bit controversial amongst fans, but I think it could lead to some potentially interesting story lines.
I love Dovewing... she's so fluffy and dumb and sweet that you can't help but like her. Also, I'm going to Barnes and Noble this weekend and need some Warriors super editions. Which ones should I read next? I've read Bluestar, Crookedstar, Tallstar, and Bramblestar's so far.

I’m gonna say here that I honestly feel like the relationship between Dovewing and Tigerheart is a pretty fresh take on the forbidden romance trope. Into them meeting a couple of times and falling in love, some tradgedy happening and then them breaking up forever, they have a very complex, on and off again relationship because or the moral conflict they face due to their relationship being forbidden, and then they stick it out in the end and end up staying together. Anyway I really love this video tenelle!!! I’m so glad someone else with agency in the fandom is defending this little fluff ball because I adore her and I am so tired of everyone bitching about her.

ALTHOUGH IVYPOOL was the one that was SUPPOSED to warn them ahead of time but didn’t fulfill that promise. XD, I love Moonkitti. But honestly, I just relate to Dovewing in a lot of ways, and she’s just plain adorable! I feel like Dovewing and Tigerheart’s love triangle was kind of irritating, but I suffered through it for my little Lovewing Dovewing! I just wish her character arc could’ve been... actually more of an arc. Although her personality was quite compelling, Ivypool’s arc was better. I still love Dovewing, though.
Dovewing was able to tell the leaders when and where the Dark Forest cats were coming from, and I think solidified the belief that the Dark Forest was 'real'. I do wish she listened in to the conversations and plans of the Dark Forest crew more, but I guess they didn't want to intrude on what Ivypool was doing.
I dont think dovewing was a needed character, her powers are sensing (hearing) things far away, but in PoT Jayfeather also shows that he can sense things on the other side of the lake and his senses might have less coverage but he could have easily sensed something related to the beavers.
I had been avoiding this video for a while because I was worried it was gonna be another hate fest on Dovewing. But I should have known better since the video was from you! This is neat, I like the analysis of Dovewing tbh, and while my friend EmperorSheep is much more of the Warriors books fan, I myself have barely started the first book before it got returned to my local library, I still can feel that the idea of making Dovewing the "Superpowered powerless" hero would have been really cool. Overall, I really liked this neat video.
I agree with you completely, especially on the point that the Three's powers had little to do with the final battle. It had been bugging me for years that there seemed to be a disconnect between the Three and the final battle, but I didn't realise just what it was until you mentioned that.
Pleass no hate, but I prefer Tigerheart and Dovewing to Bumblestripe and Dovewing. I mean, Bumblestripe is a boring glob of forgiveness and wanting to own Dovewing even though he knows she not happy. At least Tigerheart donst try to force her and has potential and Dovewing loves him. Again, my opinion.
I've never read the books (I found out about them 10 years after they came out and even back then I was 'too old to be reading them') but I still love watching your videos talking about the series. I can only imagine the sort of drama and heartache these cats get themselves into and your vids give me a small taste of it!
I JUST HAD AN IDEA To make her powers more useful, Dovewing could've been the one to unite the Clan against the Dark Forest. She knows everything that goes on in every Clan, so she could help by using her connection with the other Clans. I don't know how to explain it well, but it's a cool idea in my opinion!
Others may not agree but I think the next ‘forbidden romance’ should be a gay relationship. The clans might not except this and the pair meet in secret (like cross clan relationship) but by the end of the ark they should expect the fact that sometimes people of the same gender like each other. This would be a great message to young people that it’s ok to like someone who has the same gender as you. 💖

I read Omen of the Stars when I was much younger -- more than seven years ago at this point. A lot of details are fuzzy, and I know this video is pretty old now... But I always remember siding with Dovewing instead of Ivypool. I actively groaned when I had to read an Ivypaw/Ivypool section of the book and (stupidly) started skipping over her chapters. I think I missed out on Ivypool actually becoming a likeable character because her initial attitude made me dislike her so much. I never saw Dovewing as whiny, just idealistic -- I liked her a lot. I was a silly twelve-year-old at the time, yes, but my initial impressions of these characters never really changed. Something about Ivypool still rubs me the wrong way, and I still think Dovewing gets way more hate than she deserves -- that being said, I definitely agree with Tenelle's points in this video. Ivypool had a character arc that MADE her likeable (which I missed out on because my stupid younger self had such a distaste for her), while Doveing remained largely static and was just as likeable as she was in the beginning -- if you didn't like her at the start, you wouldn't like her at the end. It's a shame how much greater she could've been.
5:05 I would argue that Dovewing’s power actually plays a major role in the final battle. She detects the Dark Forest as soon as they come through, stripping them of the element of surprise. Without that early warning, no one would know about the invasion until the DF is basically inside the camps. While I think the clans would realistically manage to win, it would probably have cost two, even three times the number of dead. It was also her ability to hear the Dark Forest directly that convinced the other leaders to combine their forces. Never underestimate the value of good intelligence-gathering.
Ok so you make a lot of valid points in this video. I have been no stranger when it comes to my dislike of Dovewing, but ive also expressed how I feel she was indeed a victim of bad writing as her own role in the prophecy seemed forced. I haven't read Tigerheart's Shadow so I havent been able to see the how her character has developed since then. If she had been written differently or even have different events happen in her life she would have been a more enjoyable character for a lot more of the fandom. But I enjoyed your analysis on her character and how she could have been improved as a character through the series and I agree with you 👍🏼 Dovewing is definitely one of the character that suffered the most when it comes to wasted potential.
Okay but like... consider a version of Dovewing that, because of her powers, ends up wanting to become a medicine cat. Later, we discover she uses her medicine cat status to try and move through other clans to check on those she's been able to hear and see in her own clan to help them. Obviously, this decision has consequences. This would have to be in the event that either Jayfeather wasn't forced to be med cat or Leafpool was never made med cat again- idk, it's just a concept.

Edit: Okay, since someone decided to start arguing, let me explain why I hate Holly and Ivy. Hollyleaf's obsession with the warrior code is annoying. Everything's about the code, but for some reason leaving the camp before becoming an apprentice is okay? Huh, I had no idea. When Lionpaw was seeing Heatherpaw, Hollypaw disapproved of them, but then she went to see Willowpaw/shine of RiverClan herself not long after. Really, Hollyleaf? Then, she killed Ashfur, saying that it was the "right thing to do". She was talked to once or twice about it, and then never again. She tried to make Leafpool, her MOTHER, the cat who GAVE BIRTH TO HER, to COMMIT SUICIDE. How could anyone forgive that? She then runs off to hide from her problems, leaving Jay and Lion sad and confused to deal with the prophecy alone, Squirrelflight having problems with Brambleclaw, and Leafpool having to give up her role as a medicine cat. Meanwhile, Hollyleaf is hanging out with her new boyfriend. When she returns, everyone is so happy that she just left them in the dust. Bramble even defended her so she wouldn't get in trouble for killing Ashfur. After doing all that, I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with her. Ivypool. She got jealous because she didn't have superpowers. Now, I can definitely sympathize with her, since I'm often jealous of my own sister. What really annoys me about this is that people in PMVs, AMVs and MAPs make Dove look all smug and happy about being a prophecy cat, despite her showing clear signs in the books that she just wants to be normal. Don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want, I just think it's annoying and disrespectful to the few people who like Dove. Oh, and while Dovewing supported Ivypool when she was in the dark forest, Ivy didn't support Dove with the prophecy stuff and Tigerheart. I get that Tigerheart is a bitch who should go jump off a cliff, but like Tennelle said, he was the only one who understood her and didn't get mad at her for being worried about cats she went on a quest/mission with. And think about people hating on you just because you're in love! Ivy also killed Antpelt. Dove talked to her about it maybe once, and then they never mention it or think about it again. Oh, and she also tried to destroy Flametail's spirit. She was also supposed to "spy" on the dark forest, but never told anyone anything other than that they were going to attack. Which was honestly kinda pointless, since as we saw on that one scene, Dove could've used her powers for it.
Hollyleaf came back and stopped being a bitch, Ivypool let go of her jealousy, and found a mate INSIDE her clan, Dovewing fell in love with someone who thinks of her as a cat, not a mate, and left the clan the raised her. But your opinion please don't scream at meee.

Even though the erins did it for bad reasons, i LOVE the fact that hollyleaf isn't one of the three. It made the end of the third arc and the forgotten warrior SO interesting, and deepened hollyleaf's character as she went to a lot of suffering for not being special after all (i still wish we had some chapters from her perspective in the last hope and forgotten warrior but whatever). Also, i love how dovewing has a total opposite personnality, which makes her a perfect replacement for holly. I understand people not liking her, but i think the books wouldn't had been interesting if hollyleaf was one of the three, i also understand why people call her a mary sue, but this aspect of her personnality don't bother me, i think she is an original character who isn't similar to anyone else !
That's the thing; a lot of the time liking a character doesn't mean they're someone you'd get along with or like in real life/in person! I often like characters who'd I'd hate to meet in person.

I hate Hollyleaf’s wasted potential.
Dovewing had such great setup. And then Tigerheart's Shadow happened.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand yeeeah. She has several good moments in that book, but leaving ThunderClan so her kits can be with their father is selfish and stupid. Kits belong with their birth clan this has been a hard and fast rule since The Prophecy Begins when Leopardfur comes asking for Featherkit and Stormkit saying they belong with RiverClan and Graystripe only leaves with them because he felt responsible for them. Sasha gave Hawkfrost and Mothwing to RiverClan because she wanted them to have a better life, same with Princess and Cloudtail. Bluestar gave up her kits to follow her destiny and prevent Thistleclaw becoming clan leader. Bramblestar stayed in his birth clan, while an OLDER Tawnypaw CHOSE ShadowClan due to not feeling accepted in ThunderClan outside of her brother and mentor Brackenfur and her mother Goldenflower-she left ThunderClan but she never forgot her birthclan. The reasons for leaving or staying in a Clan is solely based on where a warrior feels where they belong and the last time they made a choice for the kits, Twigpaw (Such a stupid name) and Violetshine were separated with one staying in SkyClan and the other ThunderClan. What Dovewing's done will surely affect her kits for a long time and I'm willing to bet at least one would rather be in ThunderClan than ShadowClan. But only time will tell.

Another well-thought out, reasoned video breaking down a the potential of a Warriors character versus what we actually got! Dovewing had so much potential to be an interesting character, but I always felt throughout OotS that she kept getting sidelined by Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Ivypool, and never truly got to come into her own, leaving her feeling like an afterthought in the story.
I would have loved to see Dovewing a villain, maybe her desire to repair the bond with her sister, she openly would harass, bully and maybe even torture other cats just to get Ivypool's attention.
Yeah! And i like this idea, even with breaking Dovewing's personality, mostly because this would be Dovewing not really understanding what her sister did, but seeing that she got attention and turned away from her, só Dovewing could do what she understood of what Ivypool did, even not being really what Ivypool did (bullying cats, torturing, harassing, etc)
so... dovewing is basically a sweetheart but a bit dumb

I don't like dovewing but I can see why people do like her. She's relateable, she doesn't try to change herself to make other cats happy, she just bes herself.
What I personally would also have loved is Dovewing proving to Lion, Jay, and the readers she SHOULD be the true third cat. Lionblaze and Jayfeather never show much respect for Dove, especially on occasions when Dove doesn't want to use her powers because it goes against her morals. I was just waiting for her to finally snap and explain why she and no one should abuse their power like that. I really wished the Erins had explored Jay and Lion's grief over Hollyleaf as well, and that could easily tie in why they don't really trust or believe in Dovewing. She's just a stupid apprentice replacing Holly. But Dovewing proves herself and comes into her own, eventually maturing and becoming more responsible and levelheaded in her search for the respect she so rightfully deserves.
That's why I don't like her. They didn't give me a reason to like her

I came here expecting to see a youtuber give yet another rant about a character I personally like.
I came here, and I was wrong.
Not only do I appreciate that you took the time to go in-depth about her as a character, and not just put a 'mary sue' stamp on and go, but I also love that it's not just praise.
Dovewing is a great character and in my opinion, one of the least credited in the warriors series. But that doesn't mean she's flawless, or that her writing is flawless.
All in all I think this and moonkitti's breezepelt video are the two best and most realistic of their type, and I can't wait to see what else you have in store.
Finally, I found a area full of Dovewing lovers like myself. Please ignore the battlefield in a comment further down.
I’m on the fence about Dovewing, I don’t hate her but I don’t really like her. Although I’ve been leaning towards liking her because of how her character was in Tigerhearts shadow. I really want to see how she settles down with Shadowclan in the sixth book of the Vision of Shadows arc since it’s a new clan for her.
I never really liked Dovewing. But the points you brought up made me realize

I lovewing Dovewing too! She's my favorite character (tied with Ravenpaw). And while I personally loved reading her chapters as they are(yes, even the TigerDove chapters) I whole heartedly agree that we didn't get enough done with her that could have been done.
Remember how she could hear cats dying on the other side of the lake but could do nothing to help them? Or when they were in the mountains and she heard that one cat being eaten after it were carried away by the hawk? Or how she blamed herself for not hearing the tree fall sooner and thought it was her fault for what happened to Briarlight and Longtail? I REALLY wish they had delved more into her emotional and mental state with all that. Because that's some seriously traumatizing stuff right there.
I did really enjoy her in Tigerheart's Shadow however, and I LOVE reading about her as a mother, which that on it's own gives so much more room for future stories with her. And OOF! That bit at the end of River of Fire, reading about Thunderclan's reaction to her joining Shadowclan, I felt awful for her. But at the same time, i'm excited to see what else will come of her decision. It might be a bit controversial amongst fans, but I think it could lead to some potentially interesting story lines.

I’m gonna say here that I honestly feel like the relationship between Dovewing and Tigerheart is a pretty fresh take on the forbidden romance trope. Into them meeting a couple of times and falling in love, some tradgedy happening and then them breaking up forever, they have a very complex, on and off again relationship because or the moral conflict they face due to their relationship being forbidden, and then they stick it out in the end and end up staying together.
Anyway I really love this video tenelle!!! I’m so glad someone else with agency in the fandom is defending this little fluff ball because I adore her and I am so tired of everyone bitching about her.

XD, I love Moonkitti. But honestly, I just relate to Dovewing in a lot of ways, and she’s just plain adorable! I feel like Dovewing and Tigerheart’s love triangle was kind of irritating, but I suffered through it for my little Lovewing Dovewing!
I just wish her character arc could’ve been... actually more of an arc. Although her personality was quite compelling, Ivypool’s arc was better.

Dovewing was able to tell the leaders when and where the Dark Forest cats were coming from, and I think solidified the belief that the Dark Forest was 'real'. I do wish she listened in to the conversations and plans of the Dark Forest crew more, but I guess they didn't want to intrude on what Ivypool was doing.

I dont think dovewing was a needed character, her powers are sensing (hearing) things far away, but in PoT Jayfeather also shows that he can sense things on the other side of the lake and his senses might have less coverage but he could have easily sensed something related to the beavers.

This is neat, I like the analysis of Dovewing tbh, and while my friend EmperorSheep is much more of the Warriors books fan, I myself have barely started the first book before it got returned to my local library, I still can feel that the idea of making Dovewing the "Superpowered powerless" hero would have been really cool. I agree with you completely, especially on the point that the Three's powers had little to do with the final battle. It had been bugging me for years that there seemed to be a disconnect between the Three and the final battle, but I didn't realise just what it was until you mentioned that.

I've never read the books (I found out about them 10 years after they came out and even back then I was 'too old to be reading them') but I still love watching your videos talking about the series. Others may not agree but I think the next ‘forbidden romance’ should be a gay relationship. The clans might not except this and the pair meet in secret (like cross clan relationship) but by the end of the ark they should expect the fact that sometimes people of the same gender like each other. This would be a great message to young people that it’s ok to like someone who has the same gender as you. 💖

I read Omen of the Stars when I was much younger -- more than seven years ago at this point. A lot of details are fuzzy, and I know this video is pretty old now...
But I always remember siding with Dovewing instead of Ivypool. I actively groaned when I had to read an Ivypaw/Ivypool section of the book and (stupidly) started skipping over her chapters. I think I missed out on Ivypool actually becoming a likeable character because her initial attitude made me dislike her so much. I never saw Dovewing as whiny, just idealistic -- I liked her a lot. I was a silly twelve-year-old at the time, yes, but my initial impressions of these characters never really changed. Something about Ivypool still rubs me the wrong way, and I still think Dovewing gets way more hate than she deserves -- that being said, I definitely agree with Tenelle's points in this video. Ivypool had a character arc that MADE her likeable (which I missed out on because my stupid younger self had such a distaste for her), while Doveing remained largely static and was just as likeable as she was in the beginning -- if you didn't like her at the start, you wouldn't like her at the end. It's a shame how much greater she could've been.

5:05 I would argue that Dovewing’s power actually plays a major role in the final battle. She detects the Dark Forest as soon as they come through, stripping them of the element of surprise. Without that early warning, no one would know about the invasion until the DF is basically inside the camps. While I think the clans would realistically manage to win, it would probably have cost two, even three times the number of dead. It was also her ability to hear the Dark Forest directly that convinced the other leaders to combine their forces. Never underestimate the value of good intelligence-gathering.
I personally really love Dovewing. She’s a fluffy girl and I enjoy her rivalry with Ivypool.

Ok so you make a lot of valid points in this video. I have been no stranger when it comes to my dislike of Dovewing, but ive also expressed how I feel she was indeed a victim of bad writing as her own role in the prophecy seemed forced. I haven't read Tigerheart's Shadow so I havent been able to see the how her character has developed since then. If she had been written differently or even have different events happen in her life she would have been a more enjoyable character for a lot more of the fandom.
But I enjoyed your analysis on her character and how she could have been improved as a character through the series and I agree with you 👍🏼
Dovewing is definitely one of the character that suffered the most when it comes to wasted potential.
Okay but like... consider a version of Dovewing that, because of her powers, ends up wanting to become a medicine cat. Later, we discover she uses her medicine cat status to try and move through other clans to check on those she's been able to hear and see in her own clan to help them. Obviously, this decision has consequences.
This would have to be in the event that either Jayfeather wasn't forced to be med cat or Leafpool was never made med cat again- idk, it's just a concept.
I feel like Dovewing's powers would be more useful as a warrior, but I like that idea. It's interesting

She'd be able to be at a sick elder's side the moment they started coughing without anyone telling her or be out there to nurse a warrior's wound moments after they got it in a scuffle with Riverclan
She'd also be able to use it to check on the other clans medicine cats since med cats usually know a lot about each other's clans. "Oh? What's that? I heard Windclan is out of this herb- well we have ton so I'll bring some next half-moon!"

Edit: Okay, since someone decided to start arguing, let me explain why I hate Holly and Ivy.
Hollyleaf's obsession with the warrior code is annoying. Everything's about the code, but for some reason leaving the camp before becoming an apprentice is okay? Huh, I had no idea. When Lionpaw was seeing Heatherpaw, Hollypaw disapproved of them, but then she went to see Willowpaw/shine of RiverClan herself not long after. Really, Hollyleaf?
Then, she killed Ashfur, saying that it was the "right thing to do". She was talked to once or twice about it, and then never again. She tried to make Leafpool, her MOTHER, the cat who GAVE BIRTH TO HER, to COMMIT SUICIDE. How could anyone forgive that? She then runs off to hide from her problems, leaving Jay and Lion sad and confused to deal with the prophecy alone, Squirrelflight having problems with Brambleclaw, and Leafpool having to give up her role as a medicine cat. Meanwhile, Hollyleaf is hanging out with her new boyfriend. When she returns, everyone is so happy that she just left them in the dust. Bramble even defended her so she wouldn't get in trouble for killing Ashfur. After doing all that, I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with her.
Ivypool. She got jealous because she didn't have superpowers. Now, I can definitely sympathize with her, since I'm often jealous of my own sister. What really annoys me about this is that people in PMVs, AMVs and MAPs make Dove look all smug and happy about being a prophecy cat, despite her showing clear signs in the books that she just wants to be normal. Don't get me wrong, you can do whatever you want, I just think it's annoying and disrespectful to the few people who like Dove.
Oh, and while Dovewing supported Ivypool when she was in the dark forest, Ivy didn't support Dove with the prophecy stuff and Tigerheart.
I get that Tigerheart is a bitch who should go jump off a cliff, but like Tennelle said, he was the only one who understood her and didn't get mad at her for being worried about cats she went on a quest/mission with. And think about people hating on you just because you're in love!
Ivy also killed Antpelt. Dove talked to her about it maybe once, and then they never mention it or think about it again. Oh, and she also tried to destroy Flametail's spirit. She was also supposed to "spy" on the dark forest, but never told anyone anything other than that they were going to attack. Which was honestly kinda pointless, since as we saw on that one scene, Dove could've used her powers for it.

Ivypool is a selfish brat in my opinion, and Hollyleaf went on and off from being a jerk to being nice

And then redeemed herself later on and Literally saved the whole clan from the dark forest so tell me again how is she a brat
Even though the erins did it for bad reasons, i LOVE the fact that hollyleaf isn't one of the three. It made the end of the third arc and the forgotten warrior SO interesting, and deepened hollyleaf's character as she went to a lot of suffering for not being special after all (i still wish we had some chapters from her perspective in the last hope and forgotten warrior but whatever).
Also, i love how dovewing has a total opposite personnality, which makes her a perfect replacement for holly. I understand people not liking her, but i think the books wouldn't had been interesting if hollyleaf was one of the three, i also understand why people call her a mary sue, but this aspect of her personnality don't bother me, i think she is an original character who isn't similar to anyone else !

That's the thing; a lot of the time liking a character doesn't mean they're someone you'd get along with or like in real life/in person! I often like characters who'd I'd hate to meet in person.
I agree with this 100%! People need to stop hating on characters without commending their good qualities!

but i agree, dovewing deserved more character development in the omen of the stars arc. she's one of my favourite characters in the series and to see a video breaking down her lack of realised potential like this is a rare and welcome thing, thank you for doing it!
