This completely disproves the brain of an 80 year old Alzheimer's patient theory. He's talking rationally, normally and his memory is excellent. I was a huge Benoit fan but to me this proves what i believed happened where it was a really bad argument and he snapped. It's sad a couple bad days took the lives of 3 people and completely ruined the integrity of a guy i grew up watching and being a fan of.
Agreed. Yes, he might’ve had CTE, but i dont think it was that severe to the extent where his brain is the same of an 80 year old with alzheimer’s. I always looked up to benoit as my hero, and rolemodel. If u read on his wikipedia, it does mention his CTE also caused a failing marriage with his wife, Nancy. Still can’t believe someone would ever, and i mean, ever, have the heart to kill his own beloved wife and kid. May god bless their soul.
@@grannyi the thing is my grandfather had Alzheimer's and I can tell you if CTE caused him to have it that severely, there's no way he could be talking with logic, sense and recalling things from his past vividly. So I don't buy it was steroids or CTE. Did that play a role in it? Probably so but ultimately he showed signs of clear premeditation. Meaning he would've had to been aware of what he was doing. Seeing interviews and videos of him so close to his death really confuses me. I am not a doctor, but there is no way he had a so called "85 year old dementia patient brain". And if you do some research, there are plenty of things that are very VERY suspicious about his and his family death. Again i know nothing but there is definitely something wrong.
Very well spoken and articulate. The brain damage wasn't as bad as people like to say. It's easier for fans to blame brain damage rather than admitting the guy was a POS who died with no soul due to that stupid AF decision.

I believe he snapped due to grief, not drugs or his injuries. You can tell he is himself in this clip yet it's not too far from the tragedy. I am not sure how much he was masking his pain here but I bet it's a lot. I don't think what he did was inevitable but I think it was premeditated. What I don't know is if he commited suicide and took his family with him or if that domestic abuse got out of control. Maybe it didn't reflect who he was as a person but either way he killed his talented wife who deserved better and innocent son. Even in the best of scenarios that was a weak and selfish move.
If only Chris hadn't gone home that faithful week in late June 2007, we may be speaking of him in an entirely different light. Who knows, maybe wrestling would've been a lot different towards the end of the decade the PG Era would’ve never existed.

RIP Chris. Not condoning what he did but I feel so bad for this guy. Brain damage is so complicated to understand. Just know this man wasn't a monster. He was a victim of CTE first. Period. Rip to his family. Sad story all together
I don’t believe what he did has any pattern to his brain damage and CTE, yes brain damage is hard to understand but the combination of the drugs he was taking plus the empty bottles of alcohol found in the house along with marital problems going into that weekend caused his snap I believe, there’s a reason why he didn’t kill his son like right as soon as he killed Nancy and waited hours later, still just tragic
Other tests conducted on Benoit's brain tissue revealed severe chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), and damage to all four lobes of the brain and brain stem. Bailes and his colleagues concluded that repeated concussions can lead to dementia, which can contribute to severe behavioral problems.
@@rob23auger66 I understand that bro😂 but he was operating just fine literally until that weekend like i think it was a heated argument while being intoxicated that lead him to do the things he did, like they all weren’t just watching a movie then he said fuck it imma do this now, something must’ve been said that triggered him to just lose control, not saying I condone it at all but again imo CTE did not play a part in this
@@mikedevito9338 i think its a combination between what you’re saying and also him having brain damage. The point of the brain damage isn’t that he randomly starts killing people, it’s that he would’ve struggled to make proper decisions/control his emotions. If I remember right, the autopsy concluded that it was NOT the result of any drugs in his system at the time of the murder. That was all him, whatever was left of him anyways. He did have therapeutic levels of xanax, and some other shit along with a lot of testosterone, but the final opinion was that it wasn’t any substances that caused the immediate reaction. With that said, obviously years of drug abuse will lead you to that path. Here’s the extract from wikipedia: Benoit was found to have Xanax, hydrocodone, and an elevated level of testosterone, caused by a synthetic form of the hormone, in his system. The chief medical examiner attributed the testosterone level to Benoit possibly being treated for a deficiency caused by previous steroid abuse or testicular insufficiency. There was no indication that anything in Benoit's body contributed to his violent behaviour that led to the murder-suicide, concluding that there was no "roid-rage" involved.[157]
Weird part about the neighbor she called the police saying she found the bodies of Nancy and Daniel and that Chris was in the basement with the door locked. It’s very suspicious.
He comes off as such a nice guy , I don't know if I can believe he did it anymore. Wrestling was never the same because there was an elephant in the room that wwe was forbidden to ever mention
in the days and weeks leading up to that tragic weekend he could remember spots in matches and his travel schedules and had enough cognitive ability to try and cover his tracks and come up with a alibi. He had enough cognitive ability to show remorse and place bibles beside them. I don't believe that he had a form of Dementia (perhaps early onset at best) the whole roid rage thing confuses me as well as he killed 2 people on 2 different days, 1 in rage is fair enough and could be explained that way but killing 2 people has to show a level of premeditation and awareness of what you are doing.

He sounds perfectly coherent and intelligible here. He doesn't sound like someone with advanced stage brain disease at all. I think there is definitely some foul play involved surrounding his death.
Bingo
"foul play" my arse. Steven Regal and his wife who were close to Nancy Benoit give a different account of Chris. Just because we're fans of his lets not be delusional. That man took his family out and then killed himself. Its 2023 and you're judging a killer based on if they "sound perfectly coherent and intelligble."
I don't know, you'd be surprised how complex brain damage is and how it can manifest itself.
So, imagine he finds out his wife isn't happy and wants to split. He's stuck between losing his love and his passion for wrestling, which means the world to him.
I do believe it was a really bad argument and he just snapped.
CTE is just tragic. I hope more safety measures are put in place to prevent cases like this.

@@mikedevito9338 bro they did a study of his brain and it was mush. Alot of it was dead. Definitely do more research.
Here’s the extract from wikipedia:
Benoit was found to have Xanax, hydrocodone, and an elevated level of testosterone, caused by a synthetic form of the hormone, in his system.
He definitely had CTE but no way he had a brain of a 85 year old Alzheimer’s patient. No way in hell. But he definitely blacked out and lost his mind.

in the days and weeks leading up to that tragic weekend he could remember spots in matches and his travel schedules and had enough cognitive ability to try and cover his tracks and come up with a alibi.
