I loved this song when it first came out. Both are definitely legends. Both have one of the best voices ever and both are divas in the good sense of the word. Donna, however, is my number one singer of all singers. Her vocal versatility is unmatched. Sounding different from one song to the next, sometimes, amazes me.
Perfection! Everything that got us up to dance our asses off all night is exemplified in this magnificent track! Thanks for bringing back all the fabulous memories of the seventies!!!
Both Legends, simply amazing voices, Donna Gone too soon from us and Barbra with one of the best voices of the last 60yrs. and Diva of Divas, great reaction, Bravo 🙂
There is actually an even longer version on Donna's On The Radio Greatest Hits Vol 1&2 (over 11 minutes) I feel it's the best version because it's even more in the disco genre.
I've been a Streisand fan since 1970 when I saw Hello Dolly. I've loved her ever since. I'm as old as her 6 decade career. There's a treasure trove of Barbra's music 🎶 you should look up and listen to. Somewhere from her 1986 The Broadway Album, 1979 Wet album, Prisoner (theme from Eye's if Laura Mars". Yentl 1983 the movie and Album.
You're basically voicing what so many people (rightfully so) have said (including Donna herself) as to "Why can't I be seen as something other than a disco queen?" Two have been always synonymous with disco (wrongfully and rightfully so): Donna Summer and The Bee Gees. They both have been so disrespected as a result. That is why the world is a mess - we HAVE to put labels on people - people HAVE to fit in specific boxes. They cannot be more OR less. I cannot wait for the doc. I just found out about it, and I was so happy!
Ultimate divas duet ! ❤ For me it's not an extended version, it's the album version because it's this version on Barbra's "Wet" album. You lose so much of the build up in the edit version ! 90% of the people reacting to this song are reacting to an awful edit/remix version. I'm glad that you reacted to the one an only version ! 👍🏼
The Real Extended Version Is The 11 minute & 45 Seconds On Donna Summer On The Radio Greatest Hits Vol I&II.. It's Truly The Best Extended Disco Version 🎛❤️🎛 No More Tears [Enough Is Enough] 1979 Donna Summer & Barbra Streisand..... 🎙🎼❤️👑❤️🎼🎙
Streisand doesn’t breathe that’s the only way she can go from those super long notes into another one and keep going and a third lung! Donna summer sings Papa can you hear me and does a damn good job! Check it out! Good review 👍🏻
Easily one of my top fave Disco songs... great reaction. Barbra has actually recorded over 40 duets with some of the greatest of all time... from Sinatra and Mathis to Johns Legend and Mayer, and from Judy Garland to Celine Dion; there's even a beautiful posthumous one with Elvis on "Love Me Tender." The one thing though that's very evident, her voice blends well with every one of her duet partners, and she never tries to overshadow or outsing them, which she could easily do with most. Would love your reaction to the live performance of Barbra's duet with Neil Diamond on what's one of Billboard's top duet songs of all time..."You Don't Bring Me Flowers." Barbra and Neil performed this live at the 1980 Grammy Awards to an unsuspecting audience. Rumor has it they only got to rehearse it over the telephone, but it was one of Grammy's most unforgettable moments in its history. Also, if you haven't heard her duet with Celine Dion on "Tell Him," add that one to your must-see list... the video is great too. Really enjoying you and your channel.
It's true, according to Neil Diamond himself, regarding the rehearsal for their duet on the Grammys. Barbra and Neil did 'rehearse' it over the phone. There are so many Streisand recordings, too, where she does one take and it's perfect! That's what I call talent.
I hope Barbra does another duet Album.. These Talents Barbra and Donna were a great match in this song. Longer version is great.. Thanks my friend for your reaction to this song.
I LOVE this song, especially the extended version! If you're doing extended reactions, you should check out Donna's MacArthur Park Suite! I think you already reacted to her live version of the song but the extended "Suite" if fabulous and includes two other songs in the mix. Thanks for this reaction!! :)
On the 12" version, Giorgio Moroder, one of the producers, puts his touch on it with an electric guitar-lead break (or maybe a synth that sounds like an electric guitar). It's reminiscent of the signature Moroder sound you hear on "Hot Stuff" or "Call Me" by Blondie.
Remember when this came out.. theres a backstory if you haven't heard it its very interesting.. Ms Donna Summer part was lightened.. but there's a Netflix special ms Streisand has where she speaks very beautifully about ms Summer after her passing.
Agree. The full extended mix is even better, very layered and structured. And you can tell the two versions apart. This version is good too but you can tell it’s had chunks cut out of it.
@@craigjb8740 The first chorus is a clue .... the 12" version goes' Enough is enough is enough I Can't .. etc ........ but the 7'' version goes Enough is enough I can't go on .... etc
Streisand and Summer complement each other very well but they're not evenly matched at all. Streisand is still on another higher level. Also, Summer may have possibly been pigeonholed because the disco songs she recorded were so distinctive.

Two deserving Divas!
BARBRA is a Legendary Singer..Truly LEGENDARY.
Iconic !

Late fall 1979 All The Discos In SF were playing this at least twice a night.
R.I.P. to the Queen 👑 of Disco.......... Miss Donna Summer ✌️
You understood the assignment. When the chills hit you I knew you "got it." 🤗

Donna had a lot more dimensions than disco dig into her discography truly eye opening kudos and much love on another great reaction 🎉❤️💃🎶
She truly was the Queen 👑 of the era✌️

I haven't seen any reactions to any awful remixes, only stupid edits.
Streisand is matchless. Donna was brave to sing with her, and honestly stood her ground very well.
I love how you said they’re both evenly matched because that is spot on. This is such a beautiful collaboration. This collaboration is shared genius

Omg iconic song. I was 12 in 1979!!! Disco era!!!

The full length is amazing

@Jeff Bazell-Derby Agree, but when you're truly 'in the moment' during your performance of a song, as Barbra usual is, one-takes are more common.
I hope Barbra does another duet Album.. These Talents Barbra and Donna were a great match in this song. Longer version is great.. Thanks my friend for your reaction to this song.

Yes indeed. It's 17 minutes long but worth every minute.
There are two different versions of the MacArthur Park Suite.

I'm definitely gonna have to check that out
The version on Donna’s album featured Donna and the version on Barbra’s featured Barbra. It’s call show “business” for reason.
Nothing was “lightened”. There are many mixes of the song. Neither Barbra nor Donna said anything bitchy about this session.
Great reaction❤😊
That was short compared to the 12" 11:44 minute version
Agree. The full extended mix is even better, very layered and structured. And you can tell the two versions apart. This version is good too but you can tell it’s had chunks cut out of it.

From October 1979. Many remixes but IMO they’re overproduced. The single version and this “medium” version from Barbra’s “Wet” album are best.
Nah, this and the 11:45 version are the best.
Streisand and Summer complement each other very well but they're not evenly matched at all. Streisand is still on another higher level. Also, Summer may have possibly been pigeonholed because the disco songs she recorded were so distinctive.
Yes, you should've picked the full version, this one is not a good edit. This song, even being disco, is one of my all time top 5.
The radio.version would be shorter
And less good.
