Wild to me how some ppl actually used the fact that he achieved the most in the least amount of games as a point to be used against him when that should be used in his FAVOR to win MVP, that is a GOOD thing. Him missing that many games through no fault of his own then coming back and still shooting up to first in the league in nearly half as many games as others is just GOAT and MVP activities
Hello... I am Argentine, which is why I see little of your "soccer". But I like your informative dynamic, when with little data you manage to make an acceptable video. I have subscribed to you a while ago. Keep rowing and don't let us down. Thank you.
The 8 out of 9 wins when Messi was gone is overrated. Miami lost only 1 of the 19 (versus losing 3 of 15 when not playing) games Messi played. Miami also lost the League's Cup without Messi. Miami barely won a bunch of those games during the 8-1 streak and were far more dominant with Messi in the lineup.
I wish there were a stat that tracked which goals and assists ACTUALLY ended up yielding points to their team. Like if a players scores and they go from 2-1 to 3-1, they get zero points, since their team was already winning. But if they score and go from 1-1 to 2-1, then they get 2 points. And if they score and go from 0-1 to 1-1, they get 1 point. The MVP at the end of the season would be the one with most points. You could count assists, too.
Coach Pep Guadiola once said: the worst season for Messi is the Best season for all other players 😂🤣😂🤣 because Messi is an absolute best . Players like him are born once in a century ❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
6 of those 8 teams that Miami beat without Messi are not playoff teams. So arguably they won against weaker teams. I'm sure they also played at 110% to prove to everyone that they can do it without Messi, because in the past when messi was injured, they couldn't.
@@Bobo-jy5mg Even terrible teams can win the odd game against great teams, it's consistency that is the difference between a good performance and a good team. If I stopped keeping track of Manchester United games for a month and someone told me they'd won 8 of their last 9 I'd be surprised, but hearing that two of those teams were say Arsenal and Chelsea wouldn't shock me. However, if they told me that all 8 of those wins had come against teams in the top half of the table I'd be SHOCKED!
@@korganrocks3995 Agreed that any team can beat any team, but to win 8/9 of those games with 2 of them being the next best 2 teams shows a pattern, not luck
@@Bobo-jy5mg But 6 of those wins were basically "par", with only two being the really impressive ones. Much better than winning the 7 easy games and losing the only two difficult ones, sure, but I've seen too many winning streaks turning out to mean nothing in the long run to trust such a small sample size.
20 goals and 16 assist in 19 games are MVP numbers; but Messi’s impact isn’t just there. Think about the 3-2 scored by Cremaschi against NE: the assist was from Jordi Alba, but he received the through ball from Messi who started the play. With his game, Lio has elevated not just Miami but the entire league.
Yeah, that's the point Ronaldo fans always miss when comparing the two; Messi's contribution is so much more than just his goals and assists, and that's the true sign of greatness. There are plenty of good goalscorers, dribblers, passers and crossers, but what's really rare is a player who can turn a run-of-the-mill attack into something dangerous, not just someone who can contribute a single competent part of the whole. Modern defending is so well-organised that someone who can find a way to break the pattern and throw the defense into disarray with a single action or a series of perfectly executed actions is worth his weight in gold.
dude it´s actually more like 10-15 games in terms of minutes played, in around half of those games he only played like 1 half or less like in his last game when he came on in the 60th minute
@@ChrisE-iy7ok Yeah: think how much quality you need to have to be so relevant in so less time on the pitch. He played only 19 games (He suffered from an injury in Copa America), and now playoffs are coming and he got into shape. His last dance is gonna be interesting.
@@mrefis9705 it´s crazy and on top of that he was probably not even close to his best form during the games he played, not only because his loss of rhytm because of injuries but i simply think he hold himself back in lesser games so he can reach his best in the most important games of the seasons, as we see now how he is hitting top form just ahead of the playoffs
I would argue that Columbus Crew is a deeper squad than Miami. Crew finish in 2nd in the league despite making the finals in both Leagues Cup and CONCACAF Champions Cup as well as campeones cup! This isn’t even an argument 😂
And because of that played way more games than Miami did and got farther (It seems like all the Messi-heads forget Miami lost to Monterray and then the Crew beat Monterray.) And most folks talk about "Oh Miami won so many games without Messi they're such a deep team!" and forget that the Crew came back from 0-2 down to beat Miami in Leagues Cup.
@@csfwatson We don't forget at all. But we also don't forget that the first Monterrey game was played without Messi and Redondo and was pre-acquiring Rojas (his natural sub). Yannick Bright (who was arguably rookie of the year) played in neither game against Monterrey. When Messi came back from injury for the 2nd game he did so without having any time to work back into game shape. Redondo was unavailable due to injury. The league's cup game against CLB was without Messi (and we saw in their last meeting what a difference that makes). And the two games against CLB during the regular season? Both IMCF victories, despite being with out Messi for the first.
@@TheGentlemanWake “Messi came back but didn’t have time to get back to game shape” sounds like an excuse to me . If they are soooo deep they should have been able to win Leagues cup and or advance in the Champions league. The Crew beat that same Monterrey home and away! Having one or two players out shouldn’t matter if Miami is deeper as you say
@@TheGentlemanWake Well, even with Messi, Miami lost to Monterrey in Monterrey while Columbus won in Monterrey. And yes, Miami did win the first game in the regular season, I will grant you, but first, in Leagues Cup folks keep talking about how "deep" Miami is while overlooking how well that deep team did against a playoff contender despite being up 2-0. And second, that game in Columbus should have had a different result. The refs missed a red card on Busquets when he put his studs into Farsi's abdomen, but then Camacho gets all ball and the ref deems that a second yellow card. In tandem, Suarez had one of the worst dives I've ever seen to set up the Messi free kick goal. Granted, Camacho tackling Schulte resulting in the third Miami goal did Columbus no favors, but the refs helped Miami massively and even then down to 10 men, the Crew were within striking distance of equalizing or even winning that game.
@@csfwatson that Busquets 'missed' call is your opinion. Because the way I saw it Busquets got to the ball first and the CLB player was the reckless one.
Acosta is MVP by far, he's got Cincinnati on his back again this season with maybe 1/4 the talent. Messi has a supporting cast around him that have CHEMISTRY with him. Plus Messi has always had a supporting cast around him whether it was PSG OR Barcelona as well as the National team! You notice Cincinnati has been struggling lately since teams are guarding Acosta now. They know nobody else can create chances with the ball at their feet.
To me, the award is about the most valuable player on the field. His impact on players signing there is an indirect impact. This is an award for the MLS regular season. We saw how the team did with him out, they didn't exactly struggle with him gone. If you took Christian Benteke out of the lineup for 9 games, DC probably loses every single game. If Albert Rusnack missed 9 games the Sounders would have had a real bad time. He is undoubtedly the most talented player in the league, I just don't think he was the most valuable on the field this season.
I think putting too much value on the word "value" is a mistake to begin with. In England they use "man of the match" for individual games, and the mvp for the entire season should basically be the "man of the season", as in the player who was THE guy that year. Plenty of terrible teams have been carried by a single player who was a cut above the rest of his teammates despite not being in the top ten players for the league that year. There is a nebulous minimum number of games you have to play to be in the conversation, cuz you can't give it to a player who played 3 games even if he scored a hattrick in each one. I don't know what the exact number of games would be, but I know that Messi definitely qualifies.
Yeah I would be calling you an idiot if you didn’t agree in having him be the MVP. He has set the bar so high and yet people question his achievements in the MLS. Know greatness when we still have it. We are spoiled till it goes away again.
If you mathematically Messi is the most deserving player for that title and there’s no room for an error but rules are meant to be followed except he willingly gives that MVP award to the right person. But everyone knows Messi doesn’t really care and Messi is happy for him too. Wait is there any other guy who is better than Messi? I doubt that guy!
One key question. When Messi didn't arrive, was there a football player who could win titles and bring Inter Miami to where it is today? It should be remembered that Inter Miami is a club without any previous achievements or titles and it is not easy to go from 0 to 100 in just one season.Doesn't that prove Messi's worthiness to win the MVP award?
Messi coming to mls is mvp so give dam mvp to Messi every year as long as he play. Player who played against the messi asked them and asked to the coaches too. MLS Younger players can’t do anything like Messi at 37 years old
It’s obvious Messi only needs two games to become MVP. Anyone comparing Messi to other players simply doesn’t understand football. Honestly, he should win the Ballon d'Or again; I don’t see anyone better than him, and it will probably stay that way for the next 20 years or forever!
Level of competition matters a lot; anyone can look amazing when playing at a level below where they belong. I've seen guys from the Swedish 5th division look like Messi while playing against amateurs, so it makes sense that you need to do it week in week out in a top league. Now, if he puts in another World Cup performance like his last one and wins Argentina another gold, then he'd be in the conversation, but otherwise it feels a bit unfair to younger, fitter players who can contribute for 90 minutes every game both offensively and defensively, and I say this as someone who thinks Messi should have won every single Ballon d'Or since his first one.
@@korganrocks3995 I’ve played at the highest level in Switzerland myself, and I don’t believe a player from the 5th division would be tearing through opponents. Messi is simply exceptional-even in the MLS, players are skilled and very athletic. The difference is that Messi uses his intelligence and movement to create space, taking advantage of tactical lapses in the MLS that you wouldn’t find in Europe, even in lower leagues. Messi’s quality is undeniable; no one else comes close to his level. While Ronaldo is also excellent, they’re really in different leagues altogether-perhaps even three levels apart. The next generation hasn’t impressed me either, and I think we’re in for a long dry spell unless someone like Barcelona’s Yamal truly explodes. But even then, I don’t see another Messi emerging.
@@AI-CHS You're overestimating the skill level of guys just playing for fun with their mates on a saturday if you think someone with a bit of speed and skill can't run rings around them. I'm left-footed and pretty good with the ball, and lemme tell you, if you ignored the height differences you'd think I was Messi if you saw me play against my students. We have different levels in sports because most sports get broken by one person being too much better than his opponents. Fortunately at the highest level the margins are so slim that no one can completely ruin the competitiveness of the sport, even someone as insanely good as Messi. If football was a solo sport he'd basically have won every league title and CL title for 15 years in a row, barring injury, but since it's a team sport the difference gets diminished to the point where a lot of people think he and Ronaldo are neck and neck in the GOAT discussion, despite Messi being a level or three above Ronaldo, as you said.
An easy comment about MLS: Messi scores the same kind of goals he did in Europe monsters because IT DOES NOT MATTER EUROPE OR USA. No ONE CAN STOP HIM so yes easy mvp.
Ya why other.good players want to join Inter Miami or coming to MLS.?..The main factor is because Lionel Messi is playing there..thats what we call value
The argument that Inter Miami still win without Messi is ridiculous. If they lost that game, Inter Miami won't win the Supporters Shield Cup and won't break the Point Record. And of course there is no chance Messi won't be a candidate for MVP
Anyone who's watched football ⚽ knows this isn't really a surprise, I mean they're elite players who are now just playing for fun in a lesser league, very not surprising, what should be more of the conversation is what exactly is the level of this league and how competitive it actually is compared to other leagues with younger guys if older elite players did records in half the time against supposedly "younger, competitive and more athletic guys" ? - it actually just proves what everyone else has been saying all along, it is a lesser league and USA doesn't know football ⚽ etc......
Columbus is currently over-all a better team than Miami only because of the bad defense of Miami, so Columbus is currently stronger as a whole team but the attack of Miami is the best in the league I m a miami fan
@@Bobo-jy5mg I dunno, I only watch their highlights videos(because of Messi), and there's horrific defending on display in every video, so I have no trouble believing those are the only mistakes that defense ever makes.

7. Messi scored 2 goals in the Inter Miami vs Columbus Crew match which was the decisive victory and won the 2024 Supporter's Shield title. He led Inter Miami to win the 2024 Supporter's Shield trophy.
8. Messi scored 3 goals in the Inter Miami vs New England Revolution match which became the decisive victory and achieved the most points in one season in MLS history.
Messi is the meaning of football! It’s why people watching MLS! So he must be the MVP of this time!❤😊
Coach Pep Guadiola once said: the worst season for Messi is the Best season for all other players 😂🤣😂🤣 because Messi is an absolute best .
And which 2 playoff teams did they beat? 🤔
And they scraped past those guys too
@@Bobo-jy5mg Even terrible teams can win the odd game against great teams, it's consistency that is the difference between a good performance and a good team.
@@ChrisE-iy7ok
Yeah: think how much quality you need to have to be so relevant in so less time on the pitch.
He played only 19 games (He suffered from an injury in Copa America), and now playoffs are coming and he got into shape.
His last dance is gonna be interesting.
@@ChrisE-iy7ok Even more impressive!
Visca Messi ❤️💙
Acosta is MVP by far, he's got Cincinnati on his back again this season with maybe 1/4 the talent. Messi has a supporting cast around him that have CHEMISTRY with him. Plus Messi has always had a supporting cast around him whether it was PSG OR Barcelona as well as the National team! You notice Cincinnati has been struggling lately since teams are guarding Acosta now. They know nobody else can create chances with the ball at their feet.
The supporting cast stepped up because of messi. Thats GOAT influence.
Messi is the goat forever!
without messi miami lost 6-1 to cincinatti
They were missing like all of their stars lol. They basically played their B team that game
Messi the ultimate GOAT 🐐 ❤
No doubt,He is MVP,no one come close to HIM
If you mathematically Messi is the most deserving player for that title and there’s no room for an error but rules are meant to be followed except he willingly gives that MVP award to the right person. But everyone knows Messi doesn’t really care and Messi is happy for him too. Wait is there any other guy who is better than Messi? I doubt that guy!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Goat leo will be the MVP..❤
One key question. When Messi didn't arrive, was there a football player who could win titles and bring Inter Miami to where it is today? It should be remembered that Inter Miami is a club without any previous achievements or titles and it is not easy to go from 0 to 100 in just one season.Doesn't that prove Messi's worthiness to win the MVP award?
🐐 ❤
Messi coming to mls is mvp so give dam mvp to Messi every year as long as he play. Player who played against the messi asked them and asked to the coaches too. MLS Younger players can’t do anything like Messi at 37 years old
😂 increíble Messi 😁🐐👑 🖤💗
D greatest ever Leo d goat

This is not even a debate messi by a mile
GOAT❤

MVP 2024 Lionel Messi
An easy comment about MLS: Messi scores the same kind of goals he did in Europe monsters because IT DOES NOT MATTER EUROPE OR USA. No ONE CAN STOP HIM so yes easy mvp.
VAMOS LIOOOOOO
Goat 🥰 🐐
MESSI is MVP
Ya why other.good players want to join Inter Miami or coming to MLS.?..The main factor is because Lionel Messi is playing there..thats what we call value
The argument that Inter Miami still win without Messi is ridiculous. If they lost that game, Inter Miami won't win the Supporters Shield Cup and won't break the Point Record. And of course there is no chance Messi won't be a candidate for MVP
They have an 8 point advantage in the standings…? Exactly which game are you talking about that would have swung it that drastically?
Finally someone decided to use their brain in MLS discussion .
Goat
Messi is the MVP
Anyone who's watched football ⚽ knows this isn't really a surprise, I mean they're elite players who are now just playing for fun in a lesser league, very not surprising, what should be more of the conversation is what exactly is the level of this league and how competitive it actually is compared to other leagues with younger guys if older elite players did records in half the time against supposedly "younger, competitive and more athletic guys" ? - it actually just proves what everyone else has been saying all along, it is a lesser league and USA doesn't know football ⚽ etc......
First person with common sense at what messi brings to a team......
💗10💓
Messi mvp...
Where was Inter Miami before Messi?
Columbus is currently over-all a better team than Miami only because of the bad defense of Miami, so Columbus is currently stronger as a whole team but the attack of Miami is the best in the league
I m a miami fan
I really don’t think their defense is as bad as people say. They’ve allowed the same amount of goals compared to the average playoff team
@@Bobo-jy5mg I dunno, I only watch their highlights videos(because of Messi), and there's horrific defending on display in every video, so I have no trouble believing those are the only mistakes that defense ever makes.
Must admit though not many like u who would admit .respect me
MVP : MESSI - SUÁREZ - CALLENDER - ALBA
💯
I'm a Messi fan 100%. However, he played few games due to injury so I'm not sure he shoud be MVP. Anyways, best player in the world by far.
no doubt messi mvp......please as clear as water
Yeah mvp every game goal messi
Is more difficult to be Messi than Jordan
This is telling me that a bench player who comes in the second half cant be MVP
