The funny thing about space that we've really started learning since the launching of the J.W.S.T is many planets and solar systems literally are doing what nobody thought, there not abiding by the laws of physics... there doing whatever they want including spinning whichever way they feel. Can i make a chalenge??? Can you make the earth as if it is inverted? Meaning you have a spherical empty space and in the midle you have something rotating around giving day and night. Imagine looking up and not waching the stars but the another side of the earth.
Nice work mate. My suggestion would be to have the stars moving only a little or not at all. Due to parallax things further away would move more slowly.

You still need some sort of mesh deform modifier as the one can see the map being very flat, so I would say almost nailed it.
