    Very cool! My first ever 5.1 system (when I was 18) consisted of Paradigm Monitor 11v2, CC-370v3 & Mini Monitorv3 with a Mirage BPS-400 subwoofer. It was incredible! Pretty crazy that you can pick that all up for below $700.

      Wow, almost the exact same speakers! I was also very surprised to get that quality at that price. It sounds amazing!

    Wow, that’s impressive! Love that I don’t have to choose between a rockin’ home theater setup and sending my kids to college. 😂

    This was fun. Another tip is regarding the room correction that makes the freq response flat at your listening position. A speaker should have a flat response anechoic to be a quality speaker but, in-room response should have a boost at 20hz sloping down back to flat around 100hz or 200hz. I recommend 10dB boost at 20hz. I think that is the next step forward for the average person that only listens below 80dB which is very loud.
    Another step will be hooking the room up with acoustic treatments.
    Both are game changers.

      To do that, you need to have subwoofer(s) that can reach 20Hz at a decent level. With a sub that can't do that you need to start the boost at the frequency they start to roll off. With this Monoprice sub, the boost should be at around 30-40Hz and no more than +6 to +8db unless you have at least two of them.

    As an installer. You have to reset the PlayStation 5 audio. Go in to the settings

    It's crazy to spend $700 on a sound bar, when you can just save a couple hundred more dollars and have a pretty good whole set up.

    Second video of yours that I've watched period You're definitely videogenic. I don't feel like I'm watching a video or like you are talking at me, I feel like we're having a conversation as I sit here and say things like oh cool or that's awesome to myself in my mail truck while I'm working. Hehehe

    I think the old Paradigm monitor series is greatly under rated. I've heard the ferrofluid can dry up though. Great choices.

    That was a very cool video! It's true, you can put together a pretty decent system without spending much money if you choose wisely. I know I go a little overboard with my big line arrays etc but the reality is that someone with a relatively small budget can still build a system capable of providing a very enjoyable movie experience.
    As for Atmos, that's going to be my next speaker project now that the rears are just about done. I still haven't decided what to build but I do think I want to keep it simple. I don't have much experience in Atmos equipped home theaters so maybe I don't know what I'm missing but right now I still tend to think of them as, "it shouldn't take much, it's just Atmos" so I'm probably going to at least start small and simple.
    Thanks for posting this video, I really enjoyed watching. This is the sort of video that can actually really benefit a lot of people that would otherwise think a decent system is beyond their reach. Good job!

    >A youtuber complained about Dolby Atmos after trying it out using a $700 soundbar
    Well yeah, soundbar that was officially certified by Dolby to be compatible with atmos (although it's more likely that manufacturer just paid a fee to put a sticker so a consumer would see atmos logo on it). It seems to me that you've either missed the points made by 'a youtuber" or ignored them altogether.

    • @GeorgeTheaterAtHome
      @GeorgeTheaterAtHome  6 месяцев назад

      The soundbar is compatible with Atmos. But there’s just no way to get true immersive sound from a soundbar.

    I'm a little confused, your Atmos speakers are on a chair. The whole point of Atmos is the object based sound.
    Why spend the money to "test" an Atmos system and hook up two height speakers and not even attempt to properly place them?
    The object based recording will not work at all without proper placement and calibration on the receiver. Basically you were just testing a 5.1 system with some noise makers on a chair.

      @GeorgeTheaterAtHome  9 месяцев назад +6

      Just a temporary setup to test what sounds are coming from each of the channels. I have an actual Dolby theater so I am familiar with how the sounds would translate to an overheard position. I am surprised at how well this modest system performs.

    Atmos is delayed. I have the .5 speakers but lost my job before buying a new receiver. 7.1.4 possible 9.1.4 someday… first focus on the important stuff. .5 because I have a voice of god that will not be installed.

    First of all, the source signal HAS to be encoded in Dolby Atmos. Second, the way you have your speakers set up and positioned are wrong and will not give you correct and optimal sound. You can not expect music wirelessly streamed from a phone to give you optimal sound either. You need a 4K ultra HD Blu ray player connected via HDMI playing an actual source Dolby Atmos sound recording. People think they can get something for nothing. I will be honest and say most movies and television series in the past 15 plus years are full of woke and LGBTQIA + garbage anyway, so I doubt I would waste any money on a surround sound system at this point. But I digress.
