Found this interesting. Thank-you for making a video. I am a history minor and anthropology major and focus on Chinese history. Interesting choices they made lol I might pick this up. Although I will say the purpose of the repeating crossbow was mainly wall defense and ambushes. And a semi civilian weapon during the Qing dynasty
Chinese civilisation guide: “Attack your enemies where they strong, because your scuffed civ will always be weak anyway, but you can at least lose rating like a Chad and make some mad plays.” Sun Tzu, “Art of War” ultimate edition per 2021. Yeah, China is at the rock bottom right now, struggling for food against lobsters and crabs.
That dynasty button in the middle of the screen had me speechless. I wonder just which drugs the devs were on when they designed this. Or are they just trolling? You can't tell me they just put it there like "yea that looks like a proper spot to put an INTRANSPARENT HUD."
This faction seems to particularly benefit from combined arms, but that's a lot of resources, getting all these different unit types built up. Then again, you can always play them like you would other civilisations, and once that huge economy takes off, the upgrades aren't such a big deal. So maybe it evens out.
My dude you need to check out grenadiers again. They are actually insane if you get 30-40 they can just wipe out entire armies of knights in a couple throws. Rips through armour. Good video though, appreciated.
You neglected to mention that Firelancers have the highest torch damage in the game (45), 20 higher than even Mongolian spearmen (27) with the torch upgrade.
Fantastic video as always Sparty. Hoping they manage to get the balance right with China in the next patch, but they'll still be my favourite faction regardless. I remember seeing grenadiers being used really well in a pro vs pro game early on, but nothing in the tournaments. For tourneys, I've mostly seen palace guard and springald spam (for the rare times that China is even chosen that is).
Hum.. secondo me ti sbagli sui granatieri.. funzionano bene in massa, come i mangani che rendono al meglio in 3 perchè oneshottano, i granatieri in massa sono semplicemente op..
do not enjoy the limit on tax pick up. Every game ends with 800+ gold just sitting in my lumber, mill and mining buildings. Even with the +40 buff They dont even make a dent collecting whats in the buildings. Also, not one age building makes gold from taxes. Now your forced to put them in a less defensive area so u dont block buildings that can make taxes just so you can get the tax bonus. But, remember my first sentence. lol. tbh: idk if it even matters unless every game is 2 hours. ok last one: To lose a dynasty minion cause we went to a higher age is just silly. To lose a lower tier due to a higher tier...Yes thats silly to me. ok, ok now its my last one: Granaries buff zone should be squared. why-tf is it a circle? Even after stacking. The outer edges end up 1/2 on and off. ugh. tyvm for posting
I checked, and they didn't. I thought they did. They have the same four ranged and melee defense. Please double check for me. I thought that was the case and kept trying to see if I was wrong
@@italianspartacus ok thats weird, every other guidd i watched sais they have less armor, just checked the fandom wiki and they have 3 3 armor and 4 4 when elite
Same! Everything, leading up to the video, told me that they had less armor... But I cross referenced it with other versions of MaM and they all seem to be the same. Maybe it was different in the beta and it's legacy info? I don't know. I never played China during the beta. I have a cool google doc someone made where I check all the unit stats before making these videos and he keeps it pretty up to date: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oIkBHSYGMyxx-yRL_cmhnx7nV_afCMSyjaXX0mL_4Kk/edit?usp=sharing
Keep guzzling the MIC propaganda buddy. It's Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq all over again. Manufactured consent for war for the sake of profit for the very few.

Fire lancers are actually much better than regular light horsemen. Their splash damage can shred an entire army of ranged infantry in a few seconds.
They arefucking broken 😂
7:22 Palace Guard have 1 less armor than man-at-arms (3v4 armor), elite PG has 1 less armor than elite man-at-arms (4v5 armor)
You are so good mate. The explanation is top notch! Thank you very much.
Thank you very much for watching brother :)
Would have been nice if your build order had in-game timer turned on but very nice and detailed guide. Amazing work =)

Will you be posting an updated version of this based on all the buffs the Chinese got in the recent update? Would be amazing.

no its not lmfao. china is actually strong. you jsut need to know how to hold out till imperial then they are s tier.
beastyqt got to top 10 in the world rankings as china and thinks it is better than english

I just jumped in aoe 4 and they felt insanely useless against knights.

Excellent point! thank you so much for keeping me honest :)
The song dynasty crossbowman are now very good, so cheap😁
The imperial official is so dope to use when getting your army up.

Grenadiers are really good, they’re just hard to get to
Thanks for the guide!
Just spam tower in opponent's base and upgrade them with hand canon slits.
Great guide thank you
Very good series :)
Missing out quite a bit by not getting the villager production boost from Song dynasty i think.
Anyone else see the grenadiers doing archer idle animations? Flexing an invisible bow
This is great !! Do you have actual land combat formations and how to counter opponent armies ? How to micro manage each group of military units ?
Ty

I cannot find the 4 civilizations holy roman Delhi sultanate, Chinese in campaign.... How to play those civilizations? Please help
They don’t have campaigns for now. You can play them in Skirmishes or Co-Op.
"Fire Lancer Boonus."
0:17 Funky Butt!
Chinese strat: turtle inside stone walls at age 2 -> rush to age 4 + Ming dynasty -> win

Brooo the pagoda is so good tho why you don’t like?
Palace Guard do have zoomies
The palace guard alao have less armor than MaA in when not upgraded

Finally! Been waiting for so long. Long live China!! 🇨🇳
Though China’s not a good civ when compared to the others for now.
So, RIP China.
Sad there was no Murican civ or something in the game. They would wipe the floor with China
That's a boon. Just standard fare boon.
im focken dumb and just dont understand nothing xD
Nah, they are too evil irl to play.
I really don't like the West Taiwanese rebels.
