Luther is a cool cat. Had the good fortune to party with him in Mississippi motel room about 8 years ago. What I remember most was a Great Dane that Dwayne was trying to get to drink Heineken and a late night drive to some studio to check out a little Peavey amp. Memories... And, yes, watching this gives you the munchies.
My favorite vids are the ones where the actual player knows the rig inside and out. It's cool hearing the techs talk shop, but it's awesome when you can see that the musician knows what he's doing with his kit.
Holy Mother of God! I was born in Corinth, Mississippi and Luther and Cody just reach down into my soul with their music. Luther is like an alchemist with his rigs. Boy knows his stuff.
God’s country. I have some land down Hwy 15 south of Walnut, east of Falkner. Gonna retire soon and build a cabin and fish and listen to Luther all day. 🤣
Great story. Eight years is a long time. I wonder how much those guys recall of that particular night. I hope that little Peavey amp was worth the trip. Thanks for telling this memory, it was entertaining.
Saw him in Norwich, NY AMAZING show, it was a blues fest and they were the best act by far, he even threw in a cover of hendrix's "Hear my Train a-Comin"!!! AMAZING
To me this is a perfect example of brands meaning nothing. Its mostly in the hands. This guy has hagstroms, epiphones, and hofner guitars. None of those are out of reach expensive. If you like your gear that's all that matters. Props for this.
Too true, I got Hofner verythin with a bigsby 3 years ago and never looked back. Don't even have the desire to get any more guitars, it'll take a lot to replace that thing for me.
Adam people sleep on them but damn they have a sound of there own and it's a great sound. I think alot of guitar players are searching for that tone but don't know about the hofners so they never find it.
Luther Dickinson seems like a really cool cat; kinda like the old cartoon cereal commercial character - the Super Sugar Crisp Bear from the 70s. I'm impressed with dat dude! Rock on rock stah!
Luther, have you got any of Super Chikan's guitars? He makes some cool stuff out of all kinda things, down in Clarksdale, MS. And I've got a Sunnyland washboard, I'll give to Miles to put some pick ups on, if Cody wants it.
Luther Dickinson is doing a live interactive masterclass with Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp on 9/14!! You get to actually talk to him live person to person, it sounds really cool. www.rockcamp.com/masterclass.php
Weird that this showed up on my feed seven years after the fact. Love NMA, although I'd like to see them replace Cody on drums and move him to second guitar. Luther like Reverend Peyton doesn't really have a problem filling a lot of audio space, but not having a second guitar limits them on some songs.
Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars is doing a live INTERACTIVE masterclass with Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp! Limited spots so make sure to get them while you can. This dude is such a killer player, I am definitely going just to meet and talk to him! www.rockcamp.com/masterclass.php
best interview ever. yes both r stoned. me too. any doubt,,, check out startin around 8;40 (whole int is great though) interviewer and Luther having a great x and it shows. Gdam Luthers tha man,. Heres how i c it, interviewer turne Luther on to some fn Fiihhh Yahhh about 5 min prior to this. Hes enjoying how stoned Luther is. I love listening to Luther. His excitement for all things guitar is what it's all about. No jadedness there. Just cool. I love that.
I like how he takes over the interview by taking the microphone.

Luther is the man...Hernando is an incredible Guitar album & love his work with The Black Crowes.
He's such a bad ass and so articulate with his craft its sick!
I don't know anything about this guy. But i'd hang out with him and talk gear any day. Just so comfortable and down to earth

One of the best 'Rig Rundowns' I've seen in a while. Luther D. seems like one really cool, chilled out cat!
This has been the best Rig Rundown yet! Dude.....
This is still the best rig rundown ever.
God could these guys be anymore stoned?? I don't think so...It was like Cheech interviewing Chong! Lmao
***** Luther doesn't burn at all. He's just naturally laid back.
You sure? "Coffee-can guitar"? Come on! (Just kidding, don't care either way, seems like a great guy.)
Luther did take a burn break, but breaks over. 🤣
Very cool, loved this rig.
This is Charles with Premier Guitar and I am solo baked dude...
Charles Saufley is perfect for this.
DD7 rules, has reverse, and a looper! Tone Bone great for safe polarity issues of stereo, I'll like the player doing his own rig run down.
this is my favorite Rig Rundown ever. haha. Dig Luther and his easy goin' wayz.
Check the elasticity of his fingers when showing his pedals. Those are guitar playing hands. Seems like a great guy. His dad is a legend.

bsdraven yeah but you ever hear a hofner? They sound amazing. they're not built well though but shit they are great
That was the chillest Rig Rundown I've ever seen... Must have been some great weed
He doesnt burn.. His brother Cody does. I have smoked with him many years ago in Columbus Ohio in my van. True story
rimrod420 Luther is just naturally laid back.
+rimrod420 I grew up with him. He is the most laid back dude ever.
He fun to listen too.
You can tell he likes what he does.

"'LowLar' pickups are sweeeeeeet maaaaan!"
y'all did see how LD bent his fingers backwards, right?
Hagstrom Viking, Hmmm. I may have to try one of those out :-)
Beautiful tones from the cigar box and coffee can guitars! I'd love to see Luther play an acoustic set with just these two instruments.
Luther is a bad-ass!
best comments on rig review so far !
Nice Rundown. Luther is a cool cat.
