- Welcome to another Pokemon challenge video! Pokemon Black 2 with only Grass types seemed like a really fun and challenging idea, so here's my attempt. Black 2 and White 2 are some of my favorite Pokemon games, so let's do this!
We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Black 2 Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Grass types?

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught. Viable encounters only include Pokémon that already have that type, regardless of if they later evolve to have it.
(3) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(4) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of trading/importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

I have a feeling Serperior was programmed to always save you in bad situations, it used to tank unbelievable hits and sweep through whole teams back when I played B&W, it became one of my favorite starters!

My favorite grass type. If you play blaze black and have it with a contrary ability, it gets dragon typing as well, making it so busted with Draco meteor and leaf storm
My favourite of all just because of that.
Nuzlocke content is pretty common but I've been loving the monotype videos.
It's so cool to use unconventional teams, it forces you to play smart and explore different options.
Precisely! I've always loved underrated Pokemon (have made quite a few videos on them) and this allows a chance for me to show what they can do :D

@@SilphSpectre Emerald was a magnificent game and will always be my favorite unfortunately for me the Unova games came out when I was going throw a really dark phase of my life so I never really got a chance to fully enjoy them but I’ll defiantly give them a revisit soon enough
20:41 I never realized that was a mandatory double battle in black 2. I always play white 2 and it’s still hard I can only imagine how terrifying it is as a double battle.
That was actually one of the best endings to a nuzlocke video I’ve seen, I was so sure you’d lose to Iris but AI decided to throw and you took full advantage while also avoiding crits.

Going for Iris (dressed as a queen) with a roalty team: Serperior is french monarchy, Leavany was named monarch and Rosade has two roses, although the colors ain't correct, it still can be associated with the Tudor Rose! I love some concept

Man… Black and White art style is beautiful, I love the animated Pokémon sprites, a lot of them look much more alive than Sword an Shield 3D models
Silph, watching these runs makes one thing clear: the Gym Leaders live up to their name because even at a disadvantage, they can still cause plenty of trouble. It proves they earn their status as boss encounters.
The run begins with the Snivy line and ends with the Snivy line!

How do these endgames keep getting more and more hype with every video? I didn’t think this run could be any more intense than the Ruby psychic-only run, but apparently I was wrong.

Man that was a clutch one, Serperior was such an MVP in this. I actually like the mono type runs much more then the single mon ones so I'm really enjoying the series, great vid as always!
I actually enjoy playing the pokemon studio. I remember playing it for a day to complete all the shows without guides. The statue is not worth it but the amount of healing items and pearls I got after the shows funded my whole playthrough. I also like my head cannon where my character became a famous actor that became a champion like Audrey from X/Y
Man, all of those elite four battles were thrilling, you made some really risky moves and they all payed off. It’s so good to see my favorite type pulling off the unthinkable!

That is one hell of a run!! Grass is my favourite typing and finding out that they’re the 4th worst has broken my heart a little bit.. such a good video, keep ‘em coming!!

Big Root doesn’t boost the power of draining moves, it just means that you restore 75% of the damage instead of 50%. It does boost damage inflicted by Leech Seed, however

I did white 2 monotype with rock type, on the hard mode. Really fun. I chose rock because between all gen 5 games, there’s only one type specialist missing, being rock
Definitely should've taken the Petilil, it carried me for both the Electric Gym and Ground Gym. Sleep powder + Quiver dance + giga drain is too op.

A legit curious question, in the fight against Ghetsis, wouldn't Roserade be a better matchup with Toxicroak since they are both poison Pokemon?
If you look closely he doesnt have roserade in his party. He has his HMslave ducklett

Yeah. I'm usually able to evolve my Swadloon around Level 23 as well assuming it doesn't die to anything beforehand, and luckily for you, you can't get it killed or else it would be unusable for the Nuzlocke, so it works out.
I am loving the new nuzlockes man 😁. I recommend you doing a black and white 2 run with only bug types unova's bugs are super strong

You could have saved Sawsbuck simply by switching into your Ferrothorn, who is a Steel type and immune to poison.

This is one of the toughest ones you can do, holy crap. One of the worst types against the second strongest game. Great job!
I wanted to take a second to maybe bring some clarity to the Level Cap for the league.
What I’ve seen a lot of nuzlockers do is setting the Level Cap to the last Elite Four’s strongest Pokémon (Lance’s Dragonite, Drake’s Salamence, Lucian’s Gallade) and not being concerned if their Pokémon gain so much experience they go beyond that once they reach the Champion.
Starting from Gen V that changes obviously since the Elite Four aren’t in order but they all have their Aces at the same level. You set the level cap to that (in this case 58) but you don’t concern yourself with actively avoiding surpassing the Champion’s Ace.
Hope this makes sense and makes your runs easier/more exciting!

Fun fact: you can get gift deerling at the house where you meet cheren and get surf, the scientist that have deerling will give you his deerling, meaning you could actually get a foongus if you use the gift deerling
