      I’m going to compare Oliver wicks to hockerty tuxedos in a few weeks. I’d stay away from Indochino. Just my personal thoughts. The hockerty tux should be here in about 2 weeks so I should be able to review it a week later.

    Wore suits for many years.
    Tall and hard to fit. Never order a vest. Always order 2 pair of suit pants. Pants get worn all the time (unless you're wacky). Great for travel. If you total out a pair of pants, you still have a suit.
    Nice video.

      Thank you! I try to stay unbiased. Too many people out there getting paid to do reviews and read the selling points like a commercial. Indochino does that. Nearly every video says the same thing but when I got my suit, it was not the quality Indochino stated. Wasn’t even the quality as the mannequins had in the store. That was a waste of hundreds of dollars I hope I can save others from.

    My only issue with Oliver Wicks is that their pants only come in single pleats. I'm more of a double pleated guy. So as much as I'd love to purchase a suit with these guys, it's gonna have to be a "no" for me. Thanks for posting!

    First I liked your reviews on Indochino. Was going to there showroom and get measured but too many negative reviews. You get "professionally" measured and it comes back too big or tight?? Now I have 4 suits from OW and let me tell you their customer service is top notch. I'm glad you got a good suit. We have a similar body type but I'm much older. Two of my suits had to get them altered,most common shoulder rolls. Other sleeve alignment, appears twisted and armholes too large. Still I like OW even if they take about a month to finish.

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  3 года назад +1

      4 Oliver wicks. I’m jealous. I only have 2 so far.
      I want to get more but I also want to do reviews of other companies to help others. I need a suit supply, m tailor, and Lanieri. I’ll probably only get one of them this year and the rest next year.
      I usually have issues with my shoulders with suits. I have sloped shoulders.

    I’d need to see you moving in the suit more, but the only thing that stands out to me are the shoulders. It looks like they need to be extended a bit if there’s going to be that much structure. I’d like to see how one of their jackets would look on you without the padding. Also, MAYBE lengthen the jacked .5 to 1cm?

    Half canvas or full canvas not explained. I do not know the difference and why one would have vs to the other? I’m thinking of ordering but it will be three button jacket not two. I think three button jacket looks and lays better. Two button jacket to me looks stunted!

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  9 месяцев назад

      That’s explained in my suit guide video.
      Half canvas is less expensive and a lighter. 2 vs 3 buttons is based on preference, height, and weight. 3 buttons makes me look taller when I’m already tall. Shorter v line from the suit.

    They don't offer enough customization for ym tastes. So, looks like there's a hole in the market Suit Supply have many more customization options, but quality isn't so goo.

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  Год назад

      It’s been a while but I thought I remembered the same. Nearly all offer the same. Fabric, lapels, buttons, lining, cuffed trousers.
      There are some that offer regular vs slim fit. I don’t remember if OW does that. And I think OW has all of theirs full canvas where some others offer full canvas as an upgrade.
      I’ll have to look on their site again at some point. It’s been a good year and a half or more.

    • @RockTo11
      @RockTo11 Год назад

      @@TheDadBod Suit Supply, for trousers as an example, allows various pleat types, and lots of waistband options, such as the width, fastening type, extension type, and even Gurkha style. Half lining to knee, or full length. Color of the pocketing fabric. Various kinds of side adjusters. Different back pocket styles (I like buttonless, for example).
      That's what custom is all about - it's just the construction quality isn't quite there, and the measurement system on their website is terrible.

    • @TheDadBod
      @TheDadBod  2 года назад

      Made to measure tailor, like a bespoke tailor?
      I would prefer a bespoke suit. Ultimate luxury. But also very expensive. Thousands.
      Made to measure is a good middle ground between off the rack and bespoke.
      I have several made to measure suits. I love most of them.

      @@TheDadBod so I got a indochino suit for a wedding, hands down one of the worst suits Iv ever had. And it wasn’t cheap cheap. I felt like it would have been better doing a off the rack with a tailor doing alterations.
      I have another wedding coming up in November and I’m looking to try another made to measure company. Full bespoke suit I definitely understand costs lot. I live in the New York area and they go for around 2k and up. We have a lot of tailors doing made to measure suits. I called around and they all said they make them in china and Italy. Only one tailor said they make in American. Alan David suits in nyc. They seam great, but they really start at around $1500 for a two piece.
      So I’m wondering if this is a better value with similar quality.

    • @TheDadBod

      Indochino was the reason I started this channel. Was one of my first videos trying to warn people of what happened to me and what I got.
      Go with Oliver Wicks. I have tried about 15 MTM so far and they’re the best of the ones I’ve tried. Also the most expensive.
      I know other companies like Suit Supply, Black Lapel, and Lanieri are great but I haven’t tried them to be able to say per my own experiences.
      I can say for about 800, you can get an Oliver wicks suit you’ll be proud of. If you’re looking to go a little less, Sartoro. I like the Sartoro suit that I bought. I’m working on the review now in fact.
