    Nice review, Ash. The suit looks great for a first try. If I may suggest taking advantage of their tailoring offer, I’d have the body of the jacket let out about a bit from the chest to the bottom to relieve the pulling at the button and to get the lapel to lay a little flatter on your chest. Otherwise, it looks very nice. Great combo with the shirt, tie and square. Cheers.

    But, your jacket is too tight, x-cross creases and gapping at the quarters.

    Great video! I'm often unimpressed by what I see of online MTM retailers, with their skinny lapels, low-rise trousers, and lack of elegant options. Seeing options for wide lapels makes me happy. Now if only I had nearly $1,000 to spend on a suit...

    That jacket is definitely too tight, with large creases around the front button

    Sorry to say, Ash, but all I can see is strain/pucker spanning out from that top button. And the right lapel seems to be bluffing out too much from your upper chest. Glad you didn’t have to shell out for it.

    I've had 3 suits made to measure for me at Oliver Wicks. I can say I'm very content with my purchases. I get many compliments on the material and overall look. The best part was that I could get my suits tailored to the style of suit that I always wanted but could never get done anywhere else at a reasonable price. They are all 1930's style suits. Wide trouser leg with high waist and a form fitting jacket. My next suit will be a more 1940's style suit. They work hard to get everything right. You wont be disappointed.

    I cannot find myself really attracted to modern style. Made to measure MTM is not something for me as long as its not made to please MTP. But for classic style you will need to go to more exclusive places like Savile Row or Italian High end sartorial shops.

    I think MTM is definitely the way to go. It's much more economical than a full bespoke suit and you have much more options than going into a clothing store with racks full of ultra super slim fit suits in basic black and nothing else. I like double breasted jackets and pleated trousers and they're becoming increasingly hard to find at the local haberdasher...

    • @rukaks
      @rukaks 2 года назад +2

      I’d love a double breasted jacket or 5, but they are impossible to find in the menswear shops close to me in New Zealand. And here, MTM = bespoke! They use the terms interchangeably, so for true MTM I’ll need to turn to sites like these.
      Good luck, MikeB 👍🏾

    • @Kcseales
      @Kcseales Год назад

      How is the flexibility in the suit? I seen it says it has natural stretch. Can you do a split in it? Like kick high in it, if need be? Or is the stretch really minimal?

    • @KorriTimigan
      @KorriTimigan Год назад

      @@Kcseales Is that a general thing you've seen them claim on the website or is there a specific suit you're looking at? From memory I remember them offering fabrics with strech in them but I've never gone for them, the suits I've got feel like any other wool in terms of elasticity (ie not much).

    • @Kcseales
      @Kcseales Год назад

      @KorriTimigan oh okay. On their site the suits say they wick their fabrics to give it a natural stretch while still being 100 percent wool. So I was wondering about the flexibility of that natural stretch.
      There was this shirt I brought from another brand. The shirt was 100 percent cotton with natural stretch. The shirt moved like it had elastin in it. And it still felt luxurious. So was wondering if they figured out how to do the same thing with wool. But the suit you have from them didn't say it had natural stretch? Or did it say it, but it just moves like regular wool?

    I do hope they resume selling to the UK. The suit is the best looking MTM suit from an online tailor I’ve seen so far. How do the trousers feel? I ask this because they look a little wider/slacker than trousers usually look nowadays. It’s good to see trousers that are not so tight. I think slacks look more elegant than the ultra slim trousers. The slight whafting against the legs feels so good in my opinion.

    • @TheChapsGuide

    When I saw the title of the film I was tempted to respond with a ‘meh’, but after watching all the way through I have decided to respond with a Gaelic shrug and a ‘bof!’
    Actually, I was quite impressed with the quality. My only question concerns the quality of the jacket canvassing. Is it half or fully canvassed and is the canvas sewn or fused?
    With regards to the style, I never choose a suit that could be worn to work.
    Good day to you sir.

Are the trousers high-waisted and cut for braces? With that lining you can turn the jacket inside-out and grab your Brown Bess! LOL...nice cloth choice for the suit, cheers from the 13 colonies!

    Well, that's quite a bit better than your first experience with MTM, isn't it. However, I have to disagree with you on the fit around the waist. The "drop" is at least one inch too much, resulting in a bit of an x-shaped wrinkling around the buttoning point. Other than that, it's merely a matter of preference (does OW offer a higher rise trousers option? 😬)
    But, as I said, a solid effort for the money.

    dude, as soon as you accepted the suit, it's no longer independent, it's psychology 101. It's garbage cloth, might be from the "finest mills" but that doesn't mean jack, they all produce a big range of fabrics. The style is also terrible, like a suit from 20 years ago.
