Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since I last uploaded anything of real substance so I'm incredibly pleased with the final product. As I said in my "2022 Thoughts" video, I want to try and worry less about consistently uploading and focusing more on doing it when I want to. This video was a lot of fun to make and made me incredibly nostalgic for when I used to regularly upload. I'm on my "using weapons I normally wouldnt't use" phase and oh boy, when I rediscovered the big earner I bought an strange one the next day and I can't play spy with other knife. You simply gotta go fast.
I've been maining the Big Earner for a little while now, and as much as I miss being able to stay at 150+ health by farming the F2P sniper who's experiencing too much sensory overload to learn to turn around, the speed boost is just SUCH an adrenaline rush, both for getting stupid chain stabs, and getting away from situations you shouldn't get away from. Love it, I completely agree with this video
I was using the Big Earner for the contract, and god fucking damn this knife was so fun to use! Every time I got a stab, I kept hyperactively repeating the phrase "HUNDRED METER DASH! HUNDRED METER DASH! HUNDRED METER DASH!" This weapon is pure hype!
You sound like a toned down sound smith and I kinda love it lol. Seriously though, this video is very formulaic and informational, which makes it digestible. Very good explanation of the big earner. I personally believe it’s one of the best designed weapons in the game. You experience a pretty big downside but a good upside that, when combined with good skill and decision making is fun, useful, and isn’t unfair or annoying. It really is a second to the stock knife in my opinion. Sure the kunai is strong, but only when players aren’t aware. When they are aware, you die quickly and you can only do so much more compared to the stock knife. The big earner on the other hand is simple and effective. Like scout shows us, sometimes having more health isn’t nearly as good as being a bit faster.
Stabs, this video is really well made and explains why I love the Big Earner, too. I ran it almost exclusively in competitive once it got the speed boost, but always felt it was overshadowed by Kunai's overheal, so never really used it once I retired from competitive. Maybe sometime I'll give it another shot since I'm dying to make the Dead Ringer work again.
This is incredibly clean and toptier, from the audio quality to the editing, incredibly high-quality video. Also just fun to watch all the stabby stabbing. Getting a second-hand rush from the stuff you get out of. I'm surprised you don't have at least 100k.
I write a lot about TF2 balance in a big document that I have been working on for years. In that I argue that the Big earner's speed boost on kill should be a feature of the stock knife, that every unlockable knife then *does not* have as part of their balance. The Big Earner and it's set partner, the Enforcer would deserve a redesign if that were to happen. In my doc. I suggested: - We make the Enforcer into an Eyelander style revolver; Start with lower max health, which is then increased along with movement speed with each Enforcer kill. - We make the Big Earner allow for instant cloaking for a short time after a backstab kill whilst retaining it's cloak restoring capabilities, all balanced by an increase in time taken to cloak if you have not made a recent backstab kill. This way a Spy fully buffed by making 4 Enforcer kills would be able to make high value single backstabs in high risk situations and then make an incredible getaway with instant invisibility.
I think that's interesting, but I personally wouldn't change the Big Earner at all. I think it's probably one of the most balanced weapons in the game and doesn't need a buff or nerf
Hard disagree. Spy’s role isn’t chainstabbing, it’s bout getting important picks and being a non Uber answer two strong defensive situations, and cloak does most of the heavy lifting in terms of survival after an important play. With that, stock and big earner are balanced, yer is kinda fringe but still works (give it faster decloak), and kunai just gives the user way two much ehp even if you’re not a trickstabby happy spy main (like seriously, after backstabbing some random hardscoping sniper and going invis, spy now has the same amount of ehp as a batallions backup soldier)
