LOL I noticed that too. I fully expected BMOC to be S-tier when I started the video, but after looking at it closely I settled on high A tier, which isn't a bad place to end up. Hard for me not to have nostalgia boost it up all the way to S.

I have a feeling that the colonel kringle creator make that hat for people who want a hat simular to bill's hat promotion item for l4d2 but still want strange/unusual variations (i might be wrong but eh)
That's fair... and I'd understand that niche more, if there weren't already a bunch of berets for single classes that look better than the Col Kringle that can also be strange/unusual, like El Jefe, Field Practice, Skullcap, Commonwealth Commando, etc.

That's fair. My counterpoint though is that if you really like the beret style hat, you could get different beret hats for each class (field practice for medic, commonwealth commando, skullcap for soldier, frenchman beret for spy, etc.) and not have them look out of place for 11 months of the year.
Nahhh wanderers wool is so versitile, and it looks awesome with a lot of unusual effects, ofc im biest bcs i own a strange unusual frosty flavous wanderers wool, but still... It's a great hat
Unusual effects on Santa hats are normally a mixed bag for me, since it's cool for the event....but then if you want to wear your effect the rest of the year you look out of place cosplaying as Santa in June. The Wanderer's Wool is nice, since it at least gives you the option to change styles so you can rock a cool effect like your frosty flavours, but not have to look like Santa during the summer. Also strange unusuals=win.

Tbh i actualy kinda like the beret and santa hat combo. its silly, and is an emphasis of what Tf2 is kinda. Whacky shit that wouldnt fly elsewhere, soars in this game. so yk.

I considered it, but decided it's not actually a Santa hat since it has no pom pom and no furry fringe. It's more of an elf hat than a Santa hat, so I kept it off. I would definitely add it to an elf hat review, but not sure if I'm going to do one of those. Hope your 2025 is off to a good start!
The 3 beanies should have gone higher. you complained about some of the hats not being or having canon features but you forgot that hats are basically currency and the more you wear, the better. because you care about what's canon and what's not I think you should reconsider the 3 beanies.

Ohhhh do I have some critiques and opinions for this...I must say, when it comes to cosmetics from the chaotic and nonsensical game that is team fortress 2, you are by far the harshest critic I have ever come across. Take that in stride or reflect on it critically, I dunno, whatever works. Either way I'm gonna go off. This video feels sincere so my response will be as well. 1. I find it hypocritical to say the Dapper Noel is not great while the All Father is amazing; they have very similar facial hair texture (though that is to say, I think both are great regardless; texture doesn't strike me as the most important thing in an aged game like tf2). Not to mention, glasses over other glasses or goggles is deliberately not supposed to make sense, which adds to its charm, especially for a game like this where very little is supposed to be taken seriously. 2. You did the Colonel Kringle and Jolly Jester DIRTY. To me, they work because as stupid as they are (which again really shouldn't matter that much in a game like this), they still match well with other cosmetics. Also, I see their weirdness in a good light, personally. If they can't look passable along with any other cosmetics, _that_ is when they fail (the Merry Cone is the only one here I can see being an example of that). Hell, even the Shoestring Santa, which is one that I frankly don't like, can still match with other winter cosmetics and works for what it's supposed to be, so I don't think it should be gone from the game despite my distaste. 3. In the cases of "not fuzzy enough brims" or whatever, in my mind I imagine the fluff is simply smoother and finer, but ofc that can't visibly translate to tf2's graphics. To me, it doesn't take away from what I imagine them to be. 4. Professional's Pom-Pom does not come off to me as a Santa cosmetic. It translates as a regular winter beanie, which is fine, but it should either be excluded from this list of exclusively SANTA gear, or all other christmas-styled beanies should have been included for consistency's sake (but then you open up the can of worms of _all_ christmas-styled cosmetics). 5. And now that I'm thinking about it, you should call this a Santa COSMETIC tier list. It is very clearly not just hats. 6. Similarly to what I said in point 1, I find it hypocritical that you rate All Father so highly but rate Kringle Collection lower, even though they were a matching set with similar texture quality. Personally I think you relied too strongly on comparing Kringle Collection to Gift Bringer and deciding one was clearly better, while not caring about the similar texture quality of the All Father compared to the Gift Bringer but also caring about texture a lot for other cosmetics. Again, I care a lot less than you do about texture realism here, but I also know lack of consistency when I see it. 7. Similarly to what I said in point 2, you did Wanderer's Wool pretty dirty too, except the concept isn't even that stupid and the extra styles merit it so much more praise in general (and as a side note if we're talking about hobos, a regular cig makes more sense than a cigar anyway; maybe make it a cigar for the santa style exclusively or make it an extra option for all styles entirely). 8. As someone who wears it on all of my classes...Jolly Jingler is top of S next to Gift Bringer and Kringle Collection. Jingles will never be annoying, and I don't care at all about its strategic value. Can't change my mind. 9. Any placement of Santarchimedes that is lower than S tier should equate to animal neglect. I think that's all the important stuff. Anything else would be much more basic differences of opinion. I spent a lot more time on this than I should have. Guess I'm just passionate about how goofy I think this game should be treated...which is ironic but still makes sense in my head.

Agree I probably should have put Santarchimedes in S tier. I love him so much. 2. Just because I have a hat ranked low, doesn't mean I don't personally like it. Just that I think the quality of it is lower for whatever reason. I have a strange jolly jingler that I wear a bunch during the holidays, and I enjoy it...but I also recognize it's not a great hat. 3. Was the All-father technically in the same set as the kringle collection? I know they both dropped in the same winter update in 2011, but I don't believe they were in the same set. Usually that's listed in the subtext, and the set gets named. 4. Fuzzy vs not fuzzy may just be a design choice by the hat maker, but I do think its at least indicative of how much effort they put in. 5. Thank you for making such a thoughful, expansive response, and being polite about it. Definitely more interesting and useful to me than the standard "you didn't rate cosmetic X high enough! Because I made it. In all seriousness, videos exist because somebody thought it'd be interesting (whether they actually are or not). That's one of the main reasons I decided to make my own YT channel. I'd see a bunch of videos I didn't vibe with, but rather than complain about it I decided to fill the content void by making the videos I wanted to see.
