I was at this concert. I have a theory as to why the audience is so quiet. The age of the ptx fans at the concert ranged from 10 years to 80 years. Scott asked to cheer for your generation and stopped at 80. I personally was on the shuttle with a family that consisted of grandma, daughter, granddaughter plus 2 great-grandkids all going to see the concert. Everyone wants to the awesome!
So I think people treat PTX concerts like a choir concert… you want to hear them singing the stuff, so you shut up and listen, like if you were listening to a high school choir with your kid in it.
@@stephaniem2007 I saw them last September in Houston and the audience was every imaginable age and background, and in front of us were about 10 cowboys- the real deal, they're easy to spot- and they were yelling and clapping louder than any of us. While PTX was performing they were absolutely frozen in awe, truly was something to see

The Hollywood Bowl show was one of the best shows I have ever seen. What separates Pentatonix from other acapella bands is their ability to reproduce their catalogue live with perfection. They are a special group and you can tell there are no egos in the group, some songs they all shine with their own parts but on others like this members are happy to let other members take the leads and the rest are happy to fall into the background but still seamlessly create audio gold in the backing harmonies.

I love Pentatonix as much as you do! They are the best singers EVER (and I got to tell them that at their concert). When Scott asked me who I used to listen to, I said the Beatles & ABBA. They all gave me heart signs. I told them I was a great grandmother and was a teenager at the birth of rock and roll and they were the best! I've seen them in concert twice, watch all their videos, and love watching reactors. You are one of my favorites. Thank you!
My husband took me to my first PTX concert last Fall. I was enthralled. HE was impressed! They are truly just as good live. And the energy of the crowd was fantastic. We are seeing them again in September and I can not wait!
Your reactions always make me happy. PTX are amazing and work really hard at their craft. They give it their all and their fans love them for it. Super talented and innovative. I’ve been a huge fan of theirs since they first stepped on the Sing Off stage in 2011. I’m always glad to see them get the recognition they deserve.
I think the hardest job on a Pentatonix live concert tour HAS to be the sound engineer! Nobody ever thinks of that person an their crew. Special sound settings for every song and monolog, and even within each song! That job has to be incredibly precise & difficult! 💖
Great reaction. I love it when you react to Pentatonix. I'm a Pentahoic too. We all had that same first reaction to Mitch. And my first Mitch Slap was during Halleluja as well. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but yes they are listening to you. Lol. I went into a store without my cell phone and saw a brand new appliance I wanted, and I had never heard of the brand before or talked about the appliance previously. I walked out of the store, picked up my phone without saying a word, started scrolling, and I had 3 ads for that appliance on my phone. My Spidey senses went through the roof. I figured they were listening through my boyfriend's phone as he was with me, and knew to place ads on my phone for the appliance since we are always together. Now, whomever "THEY" are is a different conversation. Nothing is private any more. Though on a positive note, I get a bunch of Pentatonix material coming through my phone when I talk about them, so I guess that would be the only upside for the intrusion. Such a gorgeous, subtle, mature rendition. I really appreciate it when Kirstie is given some proper spotlight moments. Sometimes I think the vocal support she lends to the PTX harmonies are just underappreciated. She's not the highest singer, the lowest, the obvious lead, or the beat boxer, but she's a true powerhouse in her own right. I love it when we get to see her unique talent shine.

Hello Luke! Hope all is well with you. This Pentatonix concert at Hollywood Bowl was superb, it was streamed and I was able to watch online. It was a superb concert and professionally recorded so it was a dream to watch. I was watching your face and thinking that you were so caught up in watching PTX that you might have forgotten about us, then you said that you were lost in it. If you can react to each song from this concert that would be great - some nice surprises as they perform live. Scott and Kirstie are perfection on this, Kevin on that cello-boxing adds so much, Matt in the background on the bass, and Mitch harmonizing, shadowing Kirstie and then the vocalizations on the bridge give me goose bumps every time, especially when you the see the passion with which he is singing. PTX live performances often sound better than the studio recording and they know how to own the stage. I do remember your PTX Hallelujah reaction - classic Mitch Slap there! More PTX please. P.S......Love that sample from your new clothing line.
I had the privilege to see them this last Christmas. I was so worried they couldn’t live up to their recordings…..I was soooo wrong. They were incredible. Did they have pitchy moments yes once or twice. But, it made the rest of the concert amazing. They are so incredibly talented.
Loved the comment about their concerts and everyone just being in awe. Having been to several and being of an age that I'm happy to be on my feet and dancing I can also say there are times you get so caught up in the pure beauty of their music that you just get transfixed. They’ve been a band since they were literally kids 10-11 years ago. Daniela (Dany), 24, on guitar and vocals, Paulina (Pau), 22, on drums and vocals, Alejandra (Ale), 19, on bass and backing vocals. Most of their lyrics are in English, their second language. Their superpower is live performance. For starters, you could try “More” and “Evolve” performed live at the MTV VMAs Sept. 2023. Any of the songs from their Aug. 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, but popular choices are “Choke”, “23”, “Disciple”, “Survive” and their version of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” (which, if you’re going to do this, you really need to watch). Also, “Hell You Call a Dream” live at the Pepsi Center CDMX. There are plenty of earlier videos live at various venues. “Black Holes” is a good one to look for. Their first works covering songs from their favorite bands are well worth checking out. Ok, this is long, but The Warning have a deep catalog of works. You won’t be disappointed. It’s a great rabbit hole to fall down.
I HIGHLY recommend you check out Acapop Kids and their cover of Shallow as well! Acapop Kids was an a cappella group created by Scott and one of Pentatonix’s arrangers Ben. They are incredibly talented kids and a cappella done by kids is even more impressive! I don’t think any one of them is over the age of 18.

I’ve seen several vlogs from concert attendees and some of their BTS videos. Audience reactions vary. I think it somewhat depends on the venue. They toured South America in 2019 and the audience was going crazy and standing a lot. In the US, it seems to depend on the song. Their audience is filled with all age groups. I’m 68 and they have been my favorite group since 2011. I’ve seen many famous performers and yet I’m continually draw back to them. I want to listen to them on repeat. My two new favorites are Rise with Superfruit (Scott, Mitch, Brian, Mario, Mary) and their version of Creep from where they performed on The Masked Singer last year. Just seeing them dressed up as Sushi rolls is hilarious. I love that they aren’t afraid to be experimental. They did Masked Singer so they could work with instruments for a change. They also have an Evolution of Pentatonix video where they sit on a couch, tell their story and sing a few songs. dude, you GOTTA check out "my heart with you" by them. it's kind of different from what they usually do. no solos, no beatboxing, no sets or choreography. BUT,,, it is just them standing in a circle, their powerhouse voices unified singing one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. gorgeous 5 part harmony. it's very rare i cry to a song, but this one i had to listen to it on repeat and CRYYYyyy. definitely have kleenex nearby lol
I would really appreciate a reaction to Jordan Smith and Tomee prophet ( Mary did you know ) it is one of the best things I've ever heard. Also Noel from the same album 🙂 it's phenomenal. I don't need to ask for more PTX because I just follow the journey with you 🙂

Totally agree that there is nothing like Pentatonix live and when I saw them live last May in London I was one of those utterly mesmorised people in the crowd! If you haven't watched all of their Sing Off Season 3 performances, you need to watch them. They're all fantastic with lots of variety. But if you only watch one, I recommend their "Dog Days are Over" -- their final judged performance. Just amazing, and you'll love the surprise vocal from Mitch.

They (including Ben Bram) are the best arrangers of music who also perform. They have been for more than a decade now. Really since The Sing Off.

Any other artists you ask? Ok, I don’t see The Warning on your channel. You really should take a look. They’re three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, currently touring Europe. They’ve been a band since they were literally kids 10-11 years ago. Daniela (Dany), 24, on guitar and vocals, Paulina (Pau), 22, on drums and vocals, Alejandra (Ale), 19, on bass and backing vocals. Most of their lyrics are in English, their second language.
Their superpower is live performance. For starters, you could try “More” and “Evolve” performed live at the MTV VMAs Sept. 2023.
Any of the songs from their Aug. 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX, but popular choices are “Choke”, “23”, “Disciple”, “Survive” and their version of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” (which, if you’re going to do this, you really need to watch). Also, “Hell You Call a Dream” live at the Pepsi Center CDMX.
There are plenty of earlier videos live at various venues. “Black Holes” is a good one to look for.
Their first works covering songs from their favorite bands are well worth checking out.

I HIGHLY recommend you check out Acapop Kids and their cover of Shallow as well! Acapop Kids was an a cappella group created by Scott and one of Pentatonix’s arrangers Ben. They are incredibly talented kids and a cappella done by kids is even more impressive! I don’t think any one of them is over the age of 18.

I’ve seen several vlogs from concert attendees and some of their BTS videos. Audience reactions vary. I think it somewhat depends on the venue. They toured South America in 2019 and the audience was going crazy and standing a lot. In the US, it seems to depend on the song. Their audience is filled with all age groups. I’m 68 and they have been my favorite group since 2011. I’ve seen many famous performers and yet I’m continually draw back to them. I want to listen to them on repeat. My two new favorites are Rise with Superfruit (Scott, Mitch, Brian, Mario, Mary) and their version of Creep from where they performed on The Masked Singer last year. Just seeing them dressed up as Sushi rolls is hilarious. I love that they aren’t afraid to be experimental. They did Masked Singer so they could work with instruments for a change.

dude, you GOTTA check out "my heart with you" by them. it's kind of different from what they usually do. no solos, no beatboxing, no sets or choreography. BUT,,, it is just them standing in a circle, their powerhouse voices unified singing one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard. gorgeous 5 part harmony. it's very rare i cry to a song, but this one i had to listen to it on repeat and CRYYYyyy. definitely have kleenex nearby lol

Totally agree that there is nothing like Pentatonix live and when I saw them live last May in London I was one of those utterly mesmorised people in the crowd! You must go and see them when they are next in the UK!

If you haven't watched all of their Sing Off Season 3 performances, you need to watch them. They're all fantastic with lots of variety. But if you only watch one, I recommend their "Dog Days are Over" -- their final judged performance. Just amazing, and you'll love the surprise vocal from Mitch.
