I'm a self-taught welder, I have been welding for the last 3 years with MiG, I am saving up for a good TIG machine. I love learning new things and this video is awesome, I love watching skilled welders work, and this guy most definitely knows what he is doing. Great video and thank you for sharing.
Great site. I am retired now, but just looking at you work makes me think I should take a refresher course. I just love welding, any and all kinds. Thanks.
Like a mad scientist! I dint know how I got to this vidio but I couldn't stop watching and found it to be surprisingly satisfying lol ..I have ruff carpentry skills and limited mechanical skills and never really thought much about welding .working with metal looks very challenging but satisfying. I might just go take up a welding class and have found a new hobby
The pinholes were due to lack of proper cleaning/prep on the main tube. If you pause at the 13:57 mark, you can see some deep scratches and pitting in the tube. The tubing was leftover from a previous project (over 5 years ago) and the surface should've been sanded/finished better before welding (or I should've just ordered new clean tubing). It's an easy fix though- Drill (with approx. 1/4" drill bit) or die grind out the center of the pinhole almost the whole way through the material, clean, and put a good spot weld on top and leak check again.
I am new to aluminum tig welding and I just had this issue with a radiator I welded a bung on - thank you very much for explaining how to fix it and also show us that you are actually human! You are a legend!
6061. com I'm trying to find the tool You use as a backrest somewhere on the internet, is it manual work or is it bought somewhere? All compliments for job planning and for manufacturing, I can watch this for hours! Greetings from Serbia!
Started watching your channel with Ron Covell collaboration. 👍 subscribed. Your notcher looks shop made by chance did you have a video on how you built it? Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Im very happy to be able to watch this and learn. I have absolutely no aluminum welding experience. I have done very little metal welding projects i practiced on but that's all. So a 3-4 hour experience is all i have on my belt. Thanks again and God bless you
Best vids ever. We used to have a guy on our site that was like this guy... awesome trade techniques that blow your mind... he made me a little cross that was all orbital welds. It was tiny and I still have it as a keychain till this day. The welds and cool techniques I used to just sit and watch as I was supposed to be doing my safety inspections. Just like the. I could sit and watch all day again on these vids lol. I love it
Nice fab work. Some years ago I switched over to using the Bacho 6”, 8” and 10”, wide mouth, thin end adjustable wrenches. I haven’t touched any of my old crescents in so long that I should probably sell or give them away to an apprentice. Well, that’s if I could find a decent go getter these days. At any rate, when you need that “damnit, just a little more” on a valve, a nut or whatever, the Bachos never fail to open all the way. The handles are pretty comfy too.
Great tube notcher cutter at 1'06. Home made? Any chance getting informations about it (or video of it's conception ?). Your videos make me wanting a TIG to do other things than those allowed by my MIG.
I used to roll the tape to a rod to make it easier to apply the tape on tight space or hard to reach like engine compartment, you should try it someday
Looks like I need to collect a couple of mag bases.... Brilliant idea, the rest and the work support. Don't mind mentioning, went straight from lol at the bike, to 'oh God, this could end badly' at the tap in the rattlegun. I know it's only aluminium, but still made me wince. I take it the last big pipe you welded in is a mounting post, to bolt it to the floor in location, and it'll probably get a mounting foot welded on in the next video?
Pro tip, use neoprene tubing over the jaws of your pliers to protect the workpiece from the dreaded "union stamp." It's much faster to apply and remove, and the tubing can be reused, unlike the tape.
Haha I use Windex too, for finding pinhole leaks. What was this manifold for? I'm curious after seeing a boost gauge, unless you were using that just to test the pressure?
For those of you who don't know too much about this type of welding, TIG welding aluminum uses an inert gas, argon, to purge the oxygen from around the weld site. This gas comes out of the stylus he's holding with his left hand. The heat generated is substantial and aluminum melts at a fairly low temperature, so the skill comes in at knowing precisely when to move the stylus and insert the rod to make and move the puddle of molten aluminum. He makes it look easy, but I assure you it is very difficult to do. His welds are basically perfect.

I love these videos, straight to the point without blablabla. Excellent!
Insane fabricator/welder. And makes the best quality videos on the internet!
I seriously love your videos 6061....I pick up little bits of tricks here and there and I don't want them to end.
You're a very good welder fabricator, from an old retired welder you were taught well.
When you se 6061 upload it's like Christmas all over again.

the thinking process to come up with efficient ways of doing things was genius. the execution.. flawless.👍
You are amazingly talented. I tug weld and struggled with aluminum. Hands down some of the best I’ve seen
Best videos for aluminum fabrication. Straight to the point and no unnecessary explanations. Thanks

Don't worry pinholes happen to the best of us "sometimes" ;-)

I've been doing this kind of s*** a long time. That is true Craftsman work right there. Excellent job
He is showing some great skill which is not present in new generation
I´am from slovakia, and I love your welding! :)

What i like the most is the jig. Good set up and good preparation will make your job successful.
WOW i wouldn't have thought that there would be a leak. Nice video and very nice part
I was really excited!!!!
加工における様々な冶具が、臨機応変に登場または作成されていたので、とても興味深いものでした!
アーク溶接を使っている自分としては、薄板も加工が出来るTIG溶接が欲しいです(笑)。
very impressive. It was a joy watching you doing a good job.
Almost through school can’t wait to work in a fab shop. Amazing video bro, I’ll be watching more, I have aluminum test in the last phase.
A true Art... craftsman, artist... beautiful work.
Your editing is fantastic! Nice work man 👌
you're the man. gettin a tig welder soon, and I'll be practicing as much as I can.
I just got one,and i can tell u is hard AF😅My welds are light years from this look and quality.
Aluminum is very forgiving. Working with it is cleaner and simpler than with iron or steel.
seems like a lot of work. is the manifold worth it and how long would that take him in his zone?
Nice work. As they say, no bubbles, no troubles
It's a perfect surgical operation...Brilliant hands...keep going brother
Smoking wee
If I could tig weld like that, I'd build a boat. First project!!! Nice work!!
Your parts delivery guy is on point
Not sure there is someone better than him at this out there
There's always someone better!
What a men made, super professional welder.head off
Why are these films so satisfying?????

For all you millenials and corporate marketeers, This is the definition of "Hand Made"
You’re a mad scientist with access to power tools, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next 🤓#NerdsRule
I like how you edited it so we cold see the welding actually happen cause its really bright
For some reason the sound in these videos is just so entertaining lol.
I used to roll the tape to a rod to make it easier to apply the tape on tight space or hard to reach like engine compartment, you should try it someday
Wow, with all that beautiful welding and still have a leak? That is why you check! Awesome!
Je suis FRANÇAIS TURC et j'adore votre travaille merci .

Did you build that jig for the holesaw, for cutting the holes in the round stock??
Where does he get these wonderful toys. Nice work! Always impressed with your skill and the videos, not easy to do both.
I noticed the sound changes as you weld the threaded bosses on to the tube. Are you changing settings (frequency?) as the work heats up?
Pro tip, use neoprene tubing over the jaws of your pliers to protect the workpiece from the dreaded "union stamp." It's much faster to apply and remove, and the tubing can be reused, unlike the tape.
So glad you got a leak. Made me feel much better lol. Great video
Beautiful welding. I like. which welding machine.
Lmaooo was definitely not expecting the auto 6g weld😂
Your a man of your craft mate, Well done.
Total Cool.Das ist wahre Handwerkskunst!!!
Love the honesty. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward on how you fixed the problem.
lol were you editing your video speed to make the tig pulse go up in octaves?! AWESOME!
nice project that was my life tig welding aluminum heat exchangers and fittings and manifolds ects. you name it just like this stuff loved that job
Great craftsmanship! Well done!
Weld done
Haha I use Windex too, for finding pinhole leaks. What was this manifold for? I'm curious after seeing a boost gauge, unless you were using that just to test the pressure?
Clean, clear, perfect and beautiful welding.
Another awesome vid as usual!
Keep it up 6061
wow, check out from about the 4.00 mark after he finished each weld how much the pipe deflects from the cooling!
Very nice work. I really miss my Kempii Master Tig 2300
3:52 the sound pitch of the weld is quite close to the tones of the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme song. Hhhahah. Well played.
you are my mentor .awesome work . gonna learn a lot .first time i learned from another.
out of curiosity how much weld shrinkage occurs on each joint ,a nice fabrication
1:15
Genius method to get that angled cut to fit over the pipe ...
I love your videos! Great fabrication skill and wittyness. Great stuff! Keep them up!
can a skilled TIG welder replace the need for CNC machine in making personal ( or commercial ) medal, aluminum, steel and etc parts?
Beautiful workmanship!
Dude, you are awesome. Brilliant work. Fantastic tooling.
That video was so satisfying to watch
I really admire the way you work looks great.
The guy is an artist !
Really great videos. The editing is top notch. The welding is not that bad either 😉
