I've been welding for years, but its always great to keep picking up tips from people that do this full time, thanks for posting!

Awesome to see the machine setup procedure with settings!
I can tell he has the earlier 325EXT since the fans were running. Everlast recently upgraded the 325EXT to only run the fans when internal temps are high (and maybe when you are actually welding).
    Awesome video, thanks!!!

Thanks for watching my video! Let me know if there are any other welding videos you would like to see in the future.

What do you wash the inside with when completed?
Lots of practice is right. Years and years.

Typically no washing needed. All the parts are cleaned pretty heavily with acetone prior to installing them, And before the tank top is installed everything is wiped down.

Great video. Not enough fuel tank videos like this in YT.
What is the limit to bending the aluminum in this application? It looks like you're bending 45* and welding 90*.

Thanks I appreciate that more videos to come. This is 1/8th 5052. When bending this material can go past 90*, but you need to watch the clearance on the folder.

Thanks for sharing. Are you just using a foot pedal for your start/stop/ramp? I typically use a finger switch but thinking of going back to using my feet!

    • @Hancofab

I do both methods but I typically like the foot peddle more.

I don't know what that tank is intended for, but usually they are welded inside the bulkheads to prevent the petrol from hitting the walls of the tank violently with the risk of damage.

Tank has large baffles inside to prevent excessive sloshing.
You can’t internally weld small tanks. Joints are set up for full penetration with an external weld.
Very typical process on tank builds, thanks for commenting.

@@Hancofab I'm telling you this because I have welded tanks for Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini and others for years. Greetings

What wall thickness is your tank? 1/8”?

    • @Hancofab
      @Hancofab  3 месяца назад +1

Yep typically 1/8th sometimes 3/16 if the customer really wants a heavy tank.
