I'd be carefuly with such a low resistance on 12V it will heat up a lot, possibly. or maybe the circuit is closed except for the intemittent checks. still I would buy a resistance that comes with a heatsink!

I have an e61 on the UK. Our battery does not have that little black cable running from the positive terminal, so sadly this isn't a option
