I like them alot too. I also like the glow barbs. I have 6 of all different colrs in a 40 gallon with mollies platies and couple gourmanis no problems. I also have a school with my mbuna chiclids in a 55 gallon with some rosy and gold barbs no problems there either, Plus if you really look at the tiger they have great colors,
I'm just about to get 150 gallon tank and I've been weighing up what to get after my albino bristlenoses go in. I've now made my mind up with tiger barbs and clown loaches. It's going to be mostly black with driftwood to their colours should pop. Thank you.
I have 7 tiger barbs, 2 platties and 1 peppermint catfish in a 17 gallon tank. Temperature is between 71 and 75. They are happy, healthy and I have no problems. Been only doing this for 8 months. Love my tiger barbs
You gotta get your temp up higher about 77-80 also u need maybe 4 more tigers before they fully mature. They will pick each other off with smaller numbers once they become adults
Yea I’d like to hear what others think as well. Me personally wouldn’t try. Considering 40 barbs is a lot even by themselves in a 90. Not the point tho. Depending on how big the convicts are you might have a fighting chance on keeping at least half of the barbs alive. But hey to each their own.
Can Tiger Barbs and Florida Flag Fish be good tank mates in a 75-gallon tank? 12 to 18 barbs to 10 to 12 flag fish. With a school of 10 Cory cats. The tank would be moderately planted. Thinking of Molly's or Swordtails for extra fish.
Cory cats in a large amount like that should be ok. I’m not sure about the flag fish. Not familiar with them. Mollies or swordtails would be ok in numbers of 4 or more. 👍
sorry for the late response, i dont know much about kribs. but i do know they do well with schooling fish. id make sure you have enough barbs to settle the tension in the tank.

I'll be the last to comment on your video's. I noticed you're not making new video's, but I'm going to subscribe just in case. Anyway I love barb's and my favorite is the tinfoil barb which I had 6 in a 350 gallon tank. They grow fast and huge, they also like eating every plant in the tank. Tiger barb's like a well planted tank, so for the little guy's happiness I wouldn't keep them together. About 4 or 5 years ago Cory of Aquarium Co-op had an 800 gallon tank with 300 tiger barb's in the tank. Best school of fish in a home aquarium I'd ever seen.
again, I wouldn't. But doesn't mean you can't. If you have enough tiger barbs, they may be distracted with each other and leave the tetras alone. Keep a close eye on them if you make that decision. Good luck
That’s a great question. Tiger barbs and convicts in general are good tank mates. In your case I don’t see anything wrong. The convicts might get alil more aggressive but in time might even out. Tiger barbs can hold their own. I think it would be fine, just pay attention to any severe aggression. You’ll know. Most importantly tho, you do as you wish.
I am thinking about keeping a 55 gallon tank with neon tetras, mollies, platies, swordtails, corydoras and tiger barbs. Do you think its a good idea? I also plan on putting fake, but safe plants.
That setup could work yes. Be aware how many of each fish you put in. I wouldn’t want you to crash the eco system and start loosing fish due to bio load.
Only time will tell on that. I’d imagine the bigger the tank the shoal would have their own territory. That’s awesome tho. Well hey good luck and let me know how they do.

my tiger barb has a rotten fin and he doesn't eat as well.. I tried to isolate him inside a hospital tank including salt water and general aid medicine for 30 minutes but he is still sick ..what to do for him ?
Im no expert, but I would keep him in a hospital tank and treat him again as you did. Add api stress coat and just monitor him for a few days. If the rot isn’t severe, you see the fins getting better in a week or two
It depends on how small your talking. I wouldn’t put juveniles with Adults, but say young adults/teenagers you can add. But be aware The smaller ones will be on the bottom of the chain and may get harassed more tending in stress.
Depends on tank size. I think the bigger the tank, 30 gallons or bigger you’ll have more success keeping these two species together. The widow is more of a peaceful fish other than the barb. Keeping a school of 6 or more barbs might aid in their aggressive behavior and may leave the tetras alone. I would say you can keep them together in a larger tank, but keep a careful eye on any fin nipping or other aggressive behaviors and act fast if you witness any odd behavior. Good luck 👍

Typically 1 male to 3 females. With one convict I think you’ll be ok. But take in consideration for the convict may be a little more aggressive thinking it’s cornered. Just keep an eye on any weird aggression.
No, I can’t exactly tell you. There are many different causes. Water parameters, temp, filtration, ect.. but I can say, having only four tigers might have done it as well. Tiger barbs will pick on each other to form the pecking order. The two surviving might be the bigger and tougher picking off the weak.
Best fish channel by far. And your background setup is amazing. I have 7 Cory catfish 7 barbs and 3 tetras that are older and much larger then the barbs I recently purchased. Is this going to be a problem? Tetras are actually pretty large.
Thanks. I really appreciate that. The cory’s will be fine. Depends on what type of tetra but being that they are larger now, may be ok with barbs. But look out for fin nipping! If you see the tigers being aggressive toward the tetras you may wanna think of removing one or the other to another tank.

I think it would be fine but again I’m no expert. You will always gamble with putting any aggressive fish together. I’ve seen barbs with all kinds of fish and it’s just the luck of the draw. If it were me. I would try it. Just keep an eye on the tank

Adding one tiger to a tank will result in aggressive behaviors no doubt about it. I would not suggest adding tiger barbs to a tank with guppies or platys. The fry on other hand, if they fit in the barbs mouth it’ll more than likely be food.
