I can see people who take one of those to their local uke group being subjected to the same withering looks normally reserved for resonators and banjoleles 😁
I've seen that look and it can break a human !
And what is wrong with banjoleles, exactly?
Absolutely nothing. I play one and love it !
Awesome review 🤍. I bought this one already last week and i love it!
It's so good!
Thanks - looks and sounds like a great instrument - and I’ve been pondering a steel strung baritone since I came across the blues player Manitoba Hal (I believe his was custom made) so it’s nice to see something more generally available. One thing I like here is the use of mango - such a ukulele wood choice, which really distinguishes it from a guitar.
On a completely different note, I absolutely love the T-shirt Paul.
And best wishes to KD.
cheers buddy. I had the pleasure of sharing the bill with Manitoba Hal years ago at Upton Uke festival and he was great - yes I think his is custom made. Cheers buddy
Thanks Paul, another great video! I’d love to try one to compare with my Pono steel string baritone 🥰🎼
yeah I would be interested to know what that is like. hope you are well.
Another fine review Paul. That is a beautiful instrument and the sound is wonderful.
It really is!
I snagged one of these as quickly as I could. I am thrilled.
yeah I reckon they will sell out pretty quick
Can’t WAIT!!
Hello Paul, very nice review! And yes - the pins are annoying and tend to pop out. The steel strings sound very warm and sweet. Wish I could test my own compositions on them.
yeah the trouble is once they pop out you cant help but worry about it happening again.
Hello awesome How do I buy one of these from the us?
honestly I am not sure but if you mail flight direct they are very helpful.
The tuning machines seem to me to be a faulty construction because they are not screwed to the top of the headstock with a nut as is known from acoustic steel-string guitars. Even the cheapest acoustic guitars have this. On my Maia, the tuner sleeves are already at an angle in the hole and they come out again when you push them in. Is it the same with your Maia? The sound is great, by the way.
Hi Peter. Sorry to hear that - on mine they are fine and seem quite sturdy actually. Neatly placed aswell.
Unfortunately, I now know of 2 other Maia ukuleles that have the same problem with the tuners. My dealer is in contact with Flight because of this problem.
@@peterukezeller4485 thanks for letting me know. Hopefully that is something that Flight will sort out asap.
