Dang! I should have shopped around and grabbed one instead of where I went! On a serious note had a great experience buying from 3DLabtech in Canada. At the time a month or so ago they had the LDO R2 350 Kit when most US sellers were still sold out at MSRP with a Pi4 included. Shipped same day of order and got to the US with zero trouble. Notice they are now selling with the BTT CB1 and Pi4B adapter. Would recommend if anyone is looking for a kit.
Voron is printer great…. Jokes aside, I use a UPS store for my business address, so it is not always an indicator of shady business or drop shipping. I have a warehouse/workshop at home, but I like to keep my personal address separate.
Got an V2.4 LDO kit last month from Thailand reseller. This is a second kit after the V0.1 kit I got a few months earlier. Ended up paying around 1700$ per current exchange rate. Everything comes according to the BOM plus I get a Pi4 in a kit. Somehow they manage to ship their kit with Pi in this part of the world. Can’t complain though but I didn’t expect this and already bought another Pi prior to ordering the kit. Now I have a spare Pi sitting on my desk.
Hmm got my LDO 2.4r2 kit from 3D Lab Tech here in Canada, great experience and got the kit in short order. Also got some replacement parts due to a bag of wrong pulleys quickly also! Would definitely recommend.
Been getting a ton of spam/promo email from Orion 3D Printers over the last 2-3 weeks. Never signed up for their mailing list. I had a feeling it was a scam from the first email I opened.
Something else to watch for is with sites like these, sometimes a very small number of people will receive their order while the majority never do. This strategy works surprisingly well for them as the people who do receive their orders tend to go into forums/comments defending the store against negative reviews. Another trick to watch for is some sites will actually ship you something so you get a real tracking number that you can watch but it won't be what you ordered and will cost much less. If you can contact them they will typically claim it was a mixup and that they'll ship out your item soon (letting you keep the wrong item for the inconvenience, how nice of them). All the while they're counting down how many days they have to string you along until you're past your card's chargeback period. Also while it can be embarrassing, if you do get scammed by a site like this, it's important to share what happened so that others can avoid becoming victims as well.
Thank you, I saw the Reddit post initially and knew something was up, but couldn't figure out what the scam was. This makes perfect sense. That would explain why a few people have mentioned receiving some cheap novelty item.
I managed to buy a pi 4 b 2gb from a reputable local retailer here in nz for the equivalent of $60USD this week. They must have found it on a shelf somewhere. I got so excited I ordered an ldo v0 kit to put it in. N+1 and all
@Buzás András There are some stores, one in particular for general hardware that I think is run by a guy out of his garage as a hobby. I import the major stuff from Australia though, It's minimum $20 for shipping but as long as I plan ahead it's fine. V0 kit was $100 shipping but that's because it's a largish heavyish box.
@Buzás András Thinking back now though I do remember paying $200 shipping on by v2 build plate. I just gave up trying to source cast aluminium here, and that was in the days b4 kits or mass produced Voron parts.
Had a same kind of experience with Siboor. After purchasing the 2.4 kit I got an additional $300 shipping charge. Cancelled ofcourse and got a pretty quick refund. But again, was too good to be true.
I ordered the 0.1 siboor kit, no extra shipping charges over the ones shown in the cart on aliexpress, and he knocked of quite a bit as I already have the Gemini controller so it could be removed.
I am one of those who received a bag of sample filaments with 3d pen instructions. I ordered a FLSUN SR before prices dropped this far. Myself and another in reddit emailed FLSUN and both received reply emails stating Orion3dPrinters was infact an authorized reseller of their printers. Well, my only assumption can be that there is a real Orion3dPrinters out there, just not this place.
Actually some resellers DO have Rasberry Pi's and include them with their kits. Sparta3D is one. But it's an LDO kit and it's not cheap, around $2150 CAD.
Edmonton Coliseum demolition... Interesting first search result... Edit: Looks like a few hours after you posted the video people were commenting about how they received their "kits" - most common comment I've seen is they've received sample filament packs or super cheap 3d printing pens.
Funny, I tried to cheapout a 2.4 last weekend as my third printer. I spent 6-8 hours really searching Ali express and calculating with shipping to the EU around 950-1000€. Its highly unlikely it’s possible to deliver to that price with an original pi. I compared sawing the aluminum extrusions vs extrusion kits, orange pi and a driver board for at least 7 drives vs mks with raspberry clone (min 70 €) and absolutely not a original pi. The bed with shipping is minimum 160€, no moons or Ldo motors, just 7 cheapest motors with shipping is difficult to get under 150€. Belts and drives with shipping are hard to find under 50€, screws are difficult under 50€, wiring harness to the Stealthburner is 40€. Just numbers I remember, but shows that 750 seems unrealistic.
Yea this is definitely much too cheap but I did get a formbot trident 250mm^3 kit for US$647 (Black Friday sale) but I needed to source a rpi and I am using a Rapido UHF. It arrived perfectly (shipping to ex!!) and the components are actually quite good quality (most wires crimped correctly, moons motors, probably similar to LDO rails, genuine electronics other than fans) but it just doesn’t have the LDO packaging and everything. Edit: From their site and around 28 Nov this yeasr
Scammy websites are the reason I place 95% of my online purchases from Amazon. If they try to screw me or the product is crap, I have an instant recourse of returning it and warning others.
I placed an order with these guys with my Discover Card, just to make sure I could dispute it. What is even worse, I ordered an FLSun machine, but before I did, I even emailed FLSun and asked if that site was an authorized reseller... they told me yes. So after that, I placed the order. So I'm guessing this guy even went to the trouble to maybe set up accounts with some manufacturers, but all the people who have now started receiving their packages are getting small bags of sample filament or other junk like that 😥
Dam they got me. Ordered a super racer a couple weeks ago and just received a sample pack of abs. Looks like I'll be calling the credit card company... It was on black Friday so I thought it was just a holiday sale.
i did get my kit from sobior aliexpress for my v0.1 with the fly-gemni v3 mobo built in pi, it works just great! only issue i had was the extruder gear shat was to long, and i broke it trying to fix it 😞
I also purchased a 0.1 kit from them. My only issue was one of the plastic grates for the bottom was printed backward. I just redrilled the holes ant it worked just fine. Have you been able to get fast speeds out of yours? When I go faster than 120mm I start shifting layers. Any ideas?
A fool and his money are easily parted is the old saying. often holds true. The biggest alarm bell for me is that literally EVERYTHING EVERY PRODUCT EVERY PART is in stock? No stock issues? Lol
Ordered v0 with filament, received all at a great price, not that cheap, but yeah I have dealt with them. Sent one spool of wrong filament, I emailed them they sent the correct spool of ATA at no charge. So grain of salt not provided lol.
What are you talking about? My $299 350mm V2.4 R2 kit is coming tomorrow! Oh, tomorrow never comes.....☹ Several years ago, I got burned by a company that I had a previous successful order from. Claims of delivery, tracking numbers that were for delivery to a different state, lots of promises but no delivery. Fortunately, I was able to get a refund after almost 2 months.
It wasn't a scam, I reached out to Vivedino. They said they are partners with Orion 3D, but recently warned them about their pricing. I just received my refund, which I imagine they're doing after the few negative comments in redit.
