If you know someone who does headliners, you can change the roof on your e9X to alcantara black. I had my 335i headliner, pillars, and sun visors changed from the normal beige material to black alcantara and it changed the whole way the car looks. It cost me around $750 but it was so worth the money
I’ve thought about putting aftermarket seats on my 335i but since mine came with the upgraded seats, I don’t really want to lose that feature JUST to save weight
@Petrol fed how did you get the leather center console with that I drive controler. I keep seeing it with the other smaller controller. Can you link the one you bought for JF customs I really want to get it
The leather cover can be found from JF Customs. The I drive knob is just a slip on cover you can get online for like $15-$20 to add onto your existing controller. Simply makes it bigger and looks like the more modern controller. Also the lights still shine through so it looks good at night too
Petrol Fed no what I mean is the I drive controler you have has buttons the JF customs on is just the nob in the picture will it fit my 328i with I drive?
The suede vinyl wrap can be purchased on Ebay or Amazon! Can also use normal suede fabric or alcantara but will be a little more difficult to adhere properly and cleanly with glue, and thank you!
Install is a bit tricky if you’ve never done one of these before. My first time took a lot of trial and error. Considering making a video for that though! As for lag not bad, the unit starts up very quickly, however Bluetooth connectivity can sometimes take up to 30 seconds. Sometimes less. There’s also a wire included you can use for wired CarPlay instantly that also charges your phone.
Yes I highly recommend the Andream E90 E91 E92 E93 Apple Car Play head unit, might be tricky to install for some people but works great, touchscreen, retains OEM functionality, support back up camera connections, and supports wired and wireless apple car play and android auto!
How long does it take for the android unit to boot up when starting the car? Also, how bad is the glare? Do they make anti-glare screen protectors for those?
The boot up is relatively quick I would give it under 10 seconds. Connection time given that your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is already on in your phone then about 5 to 10 more seconds. You could probably find an anti-glare screen protector somewhere, but it never bothered me that much.
i have a couple question if you don’t mind, i was looking at seat brackets and they only had e92 brackets are they the same? is it worth installing an apple car play head unit on my own (this would be my first time installing a head unit)
The seat brackets for E92 will still work and bolt up to the E90 frame perfectly but the bottom anchor point of the seatbelt is seat mounted in E90, in E92 it is chassis mounted (to slide forward and back for rear passengers) so you need to secure the bottom seatbelt anchor under the same bolt you use to bolt up the seat bracket. Speaking from experience as this is how I ran it. As for the carplay unit highly recommend it, not the worst DIY but it can be tricky. Recommend watching plenty of videos beforehand. You can also message me on IG if you run into issues!
Yes you will get airbag codes and lights. Need to code out the seat mat sensor, as well as the side airbag. Can be done with Pro Tool. As long as you use your oem tensioner and seatbelt all available airbags will still deploy in an emergency.
Can you explain or do tutorial on the paddle shift retrofit please! There’s not a lot of detail explanation. Especially coming from a knowledgeable technician like you.
That’s a good idea! I remember my retrofit experience wasn’t the easiest thing to understand either, however it seems Burger Tuning has been back ordered on the harness for a very very long time and may have possibly even stopped selling it. If that’s the case I’ll make an explanation video rather than an install video
Just added the link to the description! Make sure to specify whether your car has CIC or CCC before buying. And once purchased you will need to respond to their email with your cars year make and model for them to ship it. And thank you for the support!
I subscribed and watched the ads I promise I didn’t skip any of them.

How did you install the android play unit. And is there a time lag when you start the car and when the bluetooth turns on?
