Is it mandatory to bleed the coolant after changing the Flange
@@cesargonzalez6828 yes it is highly recommended, air pockets will form throughout the cooling system unless it is bled properly. It’s a fairly simple process that anyone can do from home!
@ can you share the link ?
@@cesargonzalez6828 For the aluminum flange here is the link, it’s also in the video description as well: thespeedcave.com/products/n5x-n2x-aluminum-coolant-hose-connector-mickey-mouse-flange And for the coolant any blue European vehicle coolant will work, we like to use Zerex G48 blue
the oem design was plastic because aluminum won't go nicely around magnezium ?
The cylinder head on all of the motors this part fits on is aluminum, not magnesium. So it’s simply mating aluminum to aluminum.
What about the bottom? Is it made out of plastic too?
The o ring on mine melted and still leaking . Any recommendations?
@@shadow679king6 shouldn’t be melting unless it was either a cheap O ring or your engine may be running excessively hot. Best bet is clean off the mating surface where the o ring and new fitting sits as good as you can and reinstall a brand new kit. We now only use and recommend Uro Parts brand which is the one sold on our website, listed in the description
I bought the part off Uro I’m not sure why it melted the whole thing didn’t melt just a piece of the bottom part so u recommend I buy a new o ring or a new outlet flange ?
@@shadow679king6 Uro Tuning or Uro Parts? One is a website the other is a manufacturer
Mb I got it off ECS tuning. Is that company bad ?
@@shadow679king6 From one company to another I can’t really speak on their quality, but I will just say our Uro Parts brand flange kit that we have been using for years on our website is half the price of theirs and we have not had any issues. You did also mention that the bottom half was the only side that melted, this sounds a little bit more like a pinched O-ring during install rather than it actually melting. If an O-ring is pinched when installed and car runs, when the O-ring is removed, it will have a very visible flat spot which could be interpreted as having melted.
Also where'd you get your rear diffuser from?
@@mikespeed3928 rear diffuser is a FancyWide E9x M3 diffuser, just slightly altered to fit 335i rear
@@SpeedCave thank you!
Is there any rasp?
@@mikespeed3928 hardly any, but any time you have a straight pipe on these cars you will get some degree of rasp, it will vary depending on which downpipes you have too. However this system does a good job of mitigating it with the cross X section in the middle so even with full catless downpipes and no resonators it sounds miles better than any other straight through exhaust I’ve heard.
@@SpeedCave thank you soo much. I really do appreciate. How would you compare or rate this to the Turner Motorsports Valved exhaust? They have very similar and identical design and setup
@@mikespeed3928 The main thing about Turner’s valved exhausts that I don’t like is pneumatic valve control. This means an air compressor is running in your trunk which sometimes you can hear through the backseat but more importantly it takes a few seconds from the time you hit the button to actuate the valves open and closed. Bomiz is electronic which is immediate, and when you look at brand new cars from the last few years such as BMW for example, all of the factory installed valve systems are electronic, none are pneumatic for a reason.
@@mikespeed3928 Also if you decide to go with Bomiz send me a DM or email, the E9x 335i systems are on backorder but I can get you a discount for the wait.
@@SpeedCave I appreciate you. You're the real MVP 😎
Fantastic, thank you!! Only 45K miles on my 2011, and my plastic part was in pretty good shape....... but it was time to do this. Well done.
Knowledge is everything, thanks speed cave!
This really helped me diagnose the squealing on my n55 I couldn’t figure out if it was my belt or not
Omg you’re so smart and it’s sexy
Next time before you squeeze that hose or any hose that way, you put something inside the hose like a piece of towel so nothing can go inside that hose. just my .2 cents
Awesome video, you covered all my questions!
Does it have a rasp/Drone around 2k rpm?
Beautiful set up, great explaination and tutorial for install. Which wheels do you have by the way?
Thank you! These are the 513M forged OEM wheels from the F80/F82
Looks good do you have any “Install” videos? I am getting a new “CarPlay” box, that you mentioned. Yes you lose touch, but I understand the audio is passed via “optical” vs. “aux”. Does the Andream audio sound as good as OEM? Can the audio for CarPlay be sent via Bluetooth for clearer audio? Quite an interesting 🤔 system. I might go for it if the audio is top notch. Thanks 😊 you’ve got me thinking…👍🏾✌🏾😊
Clean whip and you crazy for stage 3 without any turbos
Amazing video love it!
It's an Indy car that you can buy with money. So, what. What happens when it breaks? Unless you're make of money, you're screwed. Better off building yourself than buying. Then when it breaks, you can fix it yourself.
Its more reliable than you think Gallardo gen 2 and after are more reliable than most cars no common issues at all or problems, unlike the mental health of most people now in days😂
Its more likely to get impounded than broken
Nice car
Very nice explanation.
What kind of rear splitter is that?
getting that part now can literally see coolant spraying out
Good luck on the install! If you are interested the part is sold on our website as well, link in description
@@SpeedCave say it fits for 535xi well see
How much does the license cost ?
Should be $150 for the full license including both diagnostic and coding
Hi just curious if you know what the part is called that the fitting goes into that you were cleaning out? I’ve replaced the flange but the part is what’s causing a major coolant leak.. Thanks
I bought this on a video recommendation as preventative maintenance and mine was already cracked too just like yours. Was wondering how to properly remove from the hose. You answered that perfectly!
Es correcto como lo hace y la parte en aluminio es Mejor que la toma plástica.
Awesome 👏🏾
This fit on e92?
Yes fits E92 just as well
@@SpeedCavethanks
what a build💯 love the fitment
Hi there, does this fit on N46 E90, 320i 2011 models as well?
Hello, this part does not apply to those engines as they use a different type of plastic hose fitting
@@SpeedCave Thank you for the feedback. Do you know whats the coolant hoses called that connects to plastic flange on N46 E90 as there's 2 pipes and mine seems to have some corrosion on the slimmer pipe since that flange connector has 2 outlets.
@@AvenNaidoo-qj4oh Yes that plastic flange should be BMW Part # 11 53 7 560 130 however please double check fitment to your exact vehicle as there may be different variants. This motor is not in the US so my familiarity with them is very limited.
@@SpeedCave Awesome, thanks for trying to assist. Will double check here in SA.
2016 BMW X1 coolant is leaking behind engine oil cooler. It's not leaking for a few days and suddenly flushes out everything. Any ideas?
That part is a automatic tow.
Thanks for the video. BMW shop wants to charge me 1400 dollars to do this
That’s crazy
what tool did you use to get under the old clamp and pull it off the hose? super helpful video thanks! :)
They are called long reach angled needle nose pliers, and thank you!
This is super helpful! thank you.
Looks awesome.
Very helpful video, thank you.
Nice explaination. Thank you for the video!
is the water pump usually loud like that? i have a n55 and my water pump sounds like that and i thought its because its failing
hi will these bolt onto vrsf downpipes without leaks or problems?
Yes of course, that’s the same brand I had on when I installed this exhaust!
so no one had an issue with the o ring??? does NOT go in wtf
Sometimes clients have provided their own flange from eBay or AutoZone/ Oreilly’s and I have had the most issues with the O-rings on these versions. Name brands although more expensive typically never have this issue.
Having the issue of it not going in all the way imma take it home and try freezing it
what skirts do you have, do they just attach to the factory panels?
These ones are from KG Splitters on Instagram! Just uses self tapping screws to attach
Can it fit for a 328i
Yessir it will fit assuming it’s 2006 or higher
This just happened to me but mine broke completely off . thanks for the video
I literally had this happen to me today thank god I was just sitting in the driveway and not driving but the aluminum head cost me $11 on amazon
Looking to do the caribou seats on my E90. Can send me the details for the full setup please
Excellent info. (I have a 2008 E90 335XI, N54 engine)... Would you have a video of how to change that complete hose. My hose has a leak down low (there's a small hole in the rubber hose about 12" down) and I am trying to find a video on what needs to be done to detach the lower part of the leaking hose and reattach the new hose. Thanks in advance. Phil Jersey Shore Area
My 2006 e92 330i 120k had an oil cooler gasket leak (in front of the filter housing). I now have a coolant leak from this Mickey Mouse flange caused by the oil leak speeding up deterioration of the plastic. Was not looking forward to changing the whole hose as the bottom end is way down on the thermostat so difficult to get to. Hopefully this video has given me an easier fix although may have to remove the fan to get enough room to work. Many thanks for the video really clear !
Did you get it without taking fan off ? Maybe you chose to use a breaker bar ?
@ yes I didn’t need to take the fan off
Great video thanks
Thank you!
Thanks for the videos Just changed mine Very helpful
Thanks for watching and glad to hear
