  • I filmed this video to share with you all of the ways I am staying energized while pregnant. It can be an exhausting time, but I have found ways to make it work and feel productive and energized. Even into my third trimester (I am launching this video at 36 weeks pregnant...I know I know), these are still working for me. I have managed to work my 3 jobs (yes!) and keep up with most social engagements during my pregnancy and I am very happy to share these ideas with you.
Whether you take iron, eat cacao nibs, dry brush your body, use a good pregnancy pillow, use a hypnobirthing or hypnobabies MP3, or any of the other tips I am discussing, they all help!

my previous pregnancy was so easy. I was running and working out, and ate whatever I wanted. Only issue was some aches. This time, two years later, it's the complete opposite. Every pregnancy is different and there is no shame in it!

I'm 11 weeks pregnant with twins, and I'm just trying to survive! I've been nauseous all day, every day, for about six weeks now and it's only marginally better compared to a couple weeks ago. Hopefully that's a sign my hormone levels are changing and I'll have an easier 2nd trimester.
Getting enough sleep and rest of key. If I need to lie down I go an lie down.
Eating enough of anything is also a priority. Some days it's hard to eat, other days I'm constantly hungry. I eat as balanced of a diet as I can, but some days all I can stomach are bp&j sanwiches and yogurt. I play it by ear.
Different things make my nausea worse on different days, but I try and pay attention to my body so I can predict what to avoid.
I drink as much as I can. I aim for 3L per day. The advice for twin pregnancies is one gallon/3.7L but I'm finding that hard still.
The worst is that some days I'm very nauseous and struggle to drink. Then i get tired because I'm dehydrated, and my nausea is worse when I'm tired. It's a vicious cycle.
Not stressing about not having energy helps. My husband does most things around the house right now. He usually cooks anyway, but has also taken on some of my normal tasks so i can rest.
Seriously hoping for an easier 2nd trimester!

Vicious cycle is exactly what I’m going through. I just feel bad for my fiancé because he works construction all day. I feel terrible and I love to clean my home but I’ve found that I’m just not able to clean up like I once did. I really commend women who work through their pregnancy because I could not do that. Any advice on what got you through?

  • @jodiebrown1039

You have such an easy going tone and pace with your speaking. I think this is one reason why your cleaning channel enthuses me to clean because you help to make it feel like it’s not actually a mountain. The tip you shared about mindfulness with your stress is exactly what I do and I notice the effects immediately. If I’m at all allowing my stress to overwhelm my mind it takes over my entire body and I’m just completely wiped. When I keep it in check it is way easier to keep my little girl entertained, keep myself happy, keep my home clean, and keep the food pumping out for hubby. Really glad you mentioned your personal channel on your clean my space page. 👍🏼💕

Definitely want to get on board with dry brushing. I'm 35 weeks pregnant as feel alright. Haven't been 1/2 as proactive as you during this pregnancy. Just a doctor , no midwife, naturopath or anything and few resources due to income but I'm letting nature do it's thing, first trimester was utter hell...... worked way too hard, then my body said ok well stop working all together(physically demanding job with risks) and I've been on pregnancy disability since which sucks. But I do just listen to my body, give it what it needs or tells me, and I'm riding this thing to the end. Can't wait to meet my baby girl in 5 weeks if all goes well ! Thanks for another amazing video and great tips ! You look amazing as usual ! Wish you a great rest of your pregnancy !

My stomach hurts, I have no energy, weird dreams and sleep sucks right now. I can’t even keep up with basic household chores or even showers 😭 I’m so willing to try anything so I can be the best mother I can for all of my babies and my future husband. It’s hard to be a good woman when I’m just so exhausted

I did hypnobabies with my second birth and it was AMAZING!!! I had a fully natural childbirth (even with induction for pre-eclampsia), after having a very medical first birth (preparing for NCB but with a different program) that I didn't want to repeat. I can't recommend it highly enough. It was SO HELPFUL. I kept my earphones in with the tracks playing until I just had to rip them out and carry on without - it helped a ton.

Pregnancy really changed my appetite my preferences everything. I hate sweet and sugary stuff in general. Till my second trimester i was craving salty and savory things and once into my third trimester i was totally a different person. I craved everything sweet. Brownies, cakes, milkshakes, icecream, chocolates, and ICE WATER. i never loved ice water but it has been ice water all day from my third trimester. Even if i have cold i was craving something cold.

The ice craving! Iron! Vitamin C with iron absorbtion. Up the vit C if taking an extra iron supplement. You are just like I was with my first pregnancy. I read a ton. I actually had people just tell me not to bother and it won't prepare me anyways. Well there is some obvious truth to that but I was much more in tune with my body and felt much more relaxed knowing all the different things that can happen. Sounds like you are pretty level headed and balanced with all the changes you are going through😁 Such an exciting time for you and your husband!

I never got above 16 weeks but when i was pregnant i made sure that since my coffee was out because it is not good for baby, i replaced it with natural organic juices. I found that juices have the same effect on your body as coffee just in a better for you way. Now you don't want juices with added sugars and stuff in it so be careful and read your label, or just juice the fruits and or veggies your self.

    Love your nails Melissa!
Can you relink the dry brush, that link doesn’t work!
And guys look on OfferUp for pregnancy/baby things, I was able to get a brand new pregnancy pillow for free! That’s not norm, but you never know, you may get lucky on other things!
I agree on insomnia, I try and tire myself out by walking every night and now at a much faster pace . And I did take naps in the first/mid to 2nd trimester like she did, just do it if you need to. In my 2nd half of trimester and now into my 3rd, I don’t really need naps. I need food control! I have to stay motivated to eat cleaner, I’ve been eating a lot of junk/comfort food, which ladies, if you gain tooooo much weight, remember, you have to PUSH that big baby out of your hoohoo, and that will stretch/rip you. So let’s all get together and try and eat healthy for ourselves and our baby whenever you can!
I also try and elevate my legs whenever I can, if I’ve been working on my feet , or after walking, to help reduce swelling.

We have totally enjoyed your webcasts and book. Tried to find a way to send you a private email but couldn't find it. So here goes....You and I totally enjoy using essential oils. Please do your research about using essential oils around babies and young children! Of special concern to me is Thieves Oil. The small amount you use in your cleaning formulas is probably OK, but using air fresheners and diffusing could be a concern. Best wishes to the three of you!

So weird. My first child I was working constantly-lots of heavy lifting. Did not feel tired ever. 2nd child- living in the woods. Chopping wood, breaking down and putting up camp and carrying back and forth everything everyday. Did not feel tired. Weeks into my 3rd pregnancy- INSANELY EXHAUSTED! 🤨 Maybe excersize is the real answer. Bummmer... I feel too tired to excersize! 🤷 Guess I will just have to buck up and do it. Augh!

I am currently at 36 weeks, and my weekly swimming classes work wonders! It is a fitness class in the pool, especially for pregnant ladies. Doesn’t put much stress on the body, but I feel like I’ve had a good workout afterwards!
A special pillow for sleeping also helped me a lot, but now in the third trimester (bump is growing like CRAZY), I also added magnesium oil to my nighttime routine. Helps a lot with legcramps!
The biggest issue that is currently sucking my energy away, is the dreaded pregnancy constipation. Still haven’t found the best dietary changed to deal with this (eating pears and drinking certain smoothies seems to help a bit.) I’m digging out the body brush again today, and will try the dry brushing to get my system going again!!

Exercise! I really slacked off the exercise when I was pregnant with my second and it was a game changer when it came to every day energy not to mention going through labor! I was exhausted. (All my babies were natural and born at home) I just had my third baby three months ago and made sure to get adequate exercise 4-6 days a week. Waaay better energy every day and during labor.
