I have played this game for 2 months with breaks and im pretty good and got to rank 4, i understood what wagers are and they give so much silver lions so thats a tip for new players to do wagers they help a lot
I started to play in November 2023, but played only ground battles. Then in february start with planes as I wanted to grind some plane for ground RB, but I consider air AB as something blahhh...Especially cuz I first begun with air RB and you can just imagine my suffering there. Then, after like 20 games (arcade), I started to be positioned 1st or amongst top 3. It was 2.3 and thought "well, I was lucky probably". But, these days, Im at 4.3 and I still have lots of kills and tonnes of dropped bombs. I wasnt using ANY of the preserving energy tactics. Then, I started with that and tbh not much changed, I am often amongst top 5, and every 4 or 5 games I am 1st. I KNOW I am NOT some naturaly gifted pilot or similar. I think its because I play on massive 55inches screen. So, thats my advice for you. Dont play on laptops or smalish screens, you will always be behind. Especially in airbattles (both, AB and RB) AND ESPECIALLY in ground RB. Having small screen when you must visualy see each enemy sucks and you will suffer. Ground arcade is the only kind you wont experience big difference.
War Thunder Planes dogfights best tips : Play all day and night do not sleep at all, tell your friends and familly even to your pet to leave you alone. Buy a bucket to use as a toilet and only order food if you making your food you are not playing. Those that already did this and sunk 13 years and are playing better than you have 13 years of advantage so be ready to get shot down at least trillion times in same exact way until you figure out how to avoid it .
I see you are not buying expierienced crews. That helps immensly with reload, And is relatively cheap for the planes you are flying. another tip would be to use stealth ammo. If you miss you don't allert the ennemy

i use stealth on most of my planes and yes i should probably buy experienced crews

What’s the difference between landing flaps and combat flaps?

landing flaps help you turn better in vertical loops, combat flaps are more for energy fighting. also if you want to squad up just dm on discro

by Default the R key should reload if you are on PC
