Lyrics
Verse 1 (King)
Link it's not too late
Boy you can be saved
The courage triforce
Calls your name
Embrace fate
Hearken me
I won't flee
Here until
I've set you free
Hear me Link
I won't flee
Verse 2 (Splinkshu)
King the kromer's paid
Friend your bid's too late
But if you want to trade
Let's talk rates
Nothing's free
Don't forget the fee
It's not cheap
Your triforce
Was never yours
Give to me
Verse 3 (King)
Silence knave
I will not cave
I'm the King
True peace is all I crave
You must fight back Link
If you fail
All hope sails
I can't think
Of a worst fate
You must wake
Verse 4 (Splinkshu)
Spare me your boring pitch friend
I told you what to spend
Old man
You can't negotiate
You're too late
Never fear
Now that you're here
Let's trade
Verse 5 (Splinkshu)
Give up haggling with fate friend
This transaction's at an end
Listen
I don't give rebates
You're too late
Never fear
Now that you're here
Let's trade
Verse 6 (King)
No trade
I've played
Enough of your games
For peace I won't bargain
End your claim
No trade
My place
Is on Hyrule's side
I'll bet dinner on this fight
Verse 6 (King)
No trade
I've paid
Enough to be shamed
For peace I won't bargain
End this game
No trade
My place
Is to show you why
True warriors strive
For what is right
So
Verse 7
(Splinkshu)
Spare me your boring pitch friend
(King)
This transaction I shall end
(Splinkshu)
Don't pretend
King you can't negotiate
(King)
Then I'll take
I have no choice
I must now fight
(Splinkshu)
No match for my might
Verse 8
(Splinkshu)
Lamp oil, rope, bombs it's your friend
(King)
For this peace I must defend
(Splinkshu)
Come back when you're richer then
(King)
I won't leave until this ends

Hey friends, I can confirm that this is not the final video of this series. I'll keep putting out parts until it comes to a satisfying conclusion. I'd also like to follow along with future chapters of Deltarune as they come out, so this series might end up going for at least that long. Thank you for the support and comments, the detailed analysis breakdowns of these videos are a joy to read. Take care!

@@bradyblue5269 that too
We all know what happens if you "borrowed" from a shopkeeper.
The difference here is that he's ready to die for peace.
The imagery of the once trusted and beloved shopkeeper using the hero as a puppet and shell of their former self is so Potent and I'm literally unable to stop thinking about how good this is
All the items he sold? To slowly make our hero susceptible to the corruption of the shopkeeper
All the money gained? To buy or bribe things and people on the shopkeeper’s side
Helping the hero defeat the big bad? Now there’s a power vacuum and our hero has no items left after using them all on the fake big bad
And now all the monsters have a new leader, one who holds the power that easily slayed them, that power being a shell of who they once were, just a tool for lamp oil, rope, and bombs
God this sounds epic
Look at morshu in the final scene. His expression says it all. This is involuntary.

@@scribbleslol1566 It is still the same... I am both happy and sad - I will NEVER hear this song the way Toby intended ever again. hahahah
Its like the when I had Shovel Knights "Fighting With All of our Might" replaced with "Hyper Camelot"... Awesome songs, but your brain loses the original one you heard forever, for better or worse.
TLDR: Tis somewhat bittersweet. (This is a wonderfully arranged video though, in all ways it can be!)
Spamtonified link singing in harmony with Morshu is so weirdly threatening. You've managed to make something special and serious out of such a goofy game, it's really impressive.
_TWO_ goofy games. Two of 'em.
"King, the kromer's paid" is an oddly menacing line from an unholy abomination of Link trapped inside of a Spamton NEO suit and Morshu
I definitely like the idea that Spamshu's victims just get assimilated into a single entity singing with multiple voices at once
It was unexpected to say the least.
Especially when he says Morshu's iconic lines. "Lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend. Come back when you're a little richer"
The saddest part is the King didn't even know his most recent dinner would be his last
He was ready to accept that.
@themonsterunderyourbed.7620 he bet dinner on the fight.
He lost his dinner, but he didn't lose Link.
Worse? He didn't even have dinner before this fight
His boi was more important than what's for dinner
"Give up haggling with fate, friend" is a fire villain quote in any context
I'm still in genuine awe that you were able to _make a duet._ Making a character with 2 lines of dialogue talk normally is already hard and a lot of YTPs struggle with that. Getting him to sing is even harder. Getting him and Link to _duet?_ That must have been brutal. I see why it took a year!
Another year later and no next installment means he's REALLY cooking this time
Jokes aside, the King's characterization is a genuinely good one in the original CD-I game, a merciful, righteous ruler willing to put the safety of others above his
0:46 Link saying “Man” sounds actually amazing, him and Morshu sound perfect together

A scene where a piece of a story is told through a song. This is by definition a musical. And I dig it.
Since it's *all* music I think it might technically be a Rock Opera.
I like how the killer blow is due to Splinkshu's arm cannon falling into the stash of bombs as it fires. The animation is really great, I also like how when he says "Lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours my friend" the correct items are launched at the King. And that line is so full of malice in this context!
Creating something this genuinely heartfelt is no easy task. I would love to see how it continues in the future if you're ever up to it, since Ganon's also at play here, but this is a pretty grand finale.
He's going for a jojo feeling here, that was just a small-fry enemy, we ain't even got to the major threats yet.

This is a weird reply section?
What I love about the lyrics is that they make King Hark to be a badass, which probably was the intention the CD-I team had when writing his script for the cutscene
Okay, I just love the attention to detail that the triforce went into Link's left hand, where it's supposed to be. That's just really great.
This is by far the most advanced form of fan fiction I've ever witnessed and I'm all for it! Blown away at the effort and story telling given the constrictions.
immune to "he would not fucking say that"
Morshu possessing Link and teaming up against the King is a great concept with a great follow-through.
And that ending, damn...
unironically cant unhear your lyrics when listening to the original song
God, just look at what's left of Morshu at the end of this. A literally broken man, too far gone to be saved. All he wanted was to be a little richer, and he happened to make the wrong call.
This is why you don’t trust shady interdimensonal sales men you call on the phone
0:34 somehow I can hear the desperation in his voice. He's making one last attempt to call out to the young warrior who he cares for like a son, hoping he can reclaim his boy without bringing him harm. Alas Link is under Morshu's control like a puppet on a string.
I think I know the story that glitchy guy from Deltarune who like kromer has learned how to place a virus in the form of a chest in their world morshu takes the chest and is infected which is the first two songs. Then in the 3rd song hark the king the king is traveling to morshus cabin to save link but we see there world tearing apart and aspects of Deltarune are leaking into their game. So Kromer guys virus has taken over them.
His name is Spamton.
@@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes45Correction
It's Spamshu.
Atleast that's what the creator Cass him.
I'm loving this track as a whole, but what I'm *really* loving is the Link/Morshu Entity's lyrics, and how they're heavily themed around shopkeeping. Sort of like how Spamton is a glitchy shopkeeper, the Entity gives off this feeling of being somehow *wrong,* beyond just being a hostile entity that's taken over Link and Morshu. The heavy use of shopkeeping language, how the Link/Morshu Entity only attacks when King Harkinian makes it *absolutely* clear that he won't trade the Triforce for Link, the obsession with "trading," it all combines to give me the impression that the Entity is some sort of reality-infecting shop-AI, nearly every thought it has being couched in terms of it's primary purpose (shopkeeping/trading) while still trying to accomplish a goal that it was never made to accomplish, let alone attempt.
Great stuff. I really like this.
(A shame that Harkinian will never get his dinner now, though...)
I'm not ashamed to admit I couldn't hold back a few tears. "Nothing's free. Don't forget the fee, it's not cheap." I could easily see Jeff using these lines more than a few times over the last year to motivate himself to finish this beautiful labor of love. This is now my favorite YTP of all time. Simply splendid, this should be the benchmark all true YTPers strive for.
Same. Best YTP I ever watched.
This ain't even a YTP at this point, IT'S A MASTERPIECE!

So many of these lyrics are inspirational It's actually insane, even better there's emotional stakes there too so they do hit all the more
Having Spamton-Morshu's Rupee be replaced with the Birdley ice crystal was a very nice touch that's very difficult to notice. You put an astounding amount of work into this.
I cannot express how much I love the line "give up haggling with fate, friend"
A moment of silence for the recently widowed dinner.
“Give up haggling with fate friend, this transactions come to an end” one of my favorite lines
Jesus that ending. I've been keeping tabs on the YTP community since near the beginning and with the lowkey character development last video ("Dinner can wait"), it almost feels like I've lost an old friend lol.

I've got to say, I've heard people criticize this game by saying "why did they HAD to make Link talk??" and i am so glad that Link talking could make this video possible and so soooo good. Thank you !
I just love the corrupting effect that Link exude in this.
The sentence-mixing and visuals are one thing, but I'm *aghast* so few are really focusing on how incredibly witty the rhymes and lyrical storytelling are.
Really - it's hard enough to make a song fit a pre-existing melody; harder still to make it rhyme appropriately with as few leaps of lyrical logic as possible; but just *how* hard must it have been to then *portray accurately* the stoic determination of a king that knows his peaceful days are over, resigned to his duty and knowing full well he may not be home for dinner again?
I know this is all funny hahas and silly youtube poops, but the writing is *phenomenal.* All the more I'm reminded why a certain someone said of ytp's that "It's not a genre - it's an *artform.*"
Wonderful job. This won't be leaving my head for months to come.
at 1:21, both morshu and link start "dancing", but the way link moves gives the impression that the kings words actually DID wake him a bit, causing him to try to fight out of morshu's control

Worth the wait, this was great. Hits a perfect sweet spot between humorous zelda cdi ytp and an unironically good musical adventure. Really loving this series.
Man AI voices are going to turn sentence mixing into more of a lost art than it already is.
it just makes the artists who do it much more respectable, anyone can punch words into a machine, but it takes someone with soul to pitch, splice, and manipulate it manually and have it sound GOOD too
Imagine what will happen when Ai and sentence splicing will be used in tandem!

It wasn't enough to make a banger. You've also
- Made a compelling story. It's a duet! The ending is satisfying and leaves me to speculate what will happen next.
- Stitched together sentences that I can understand WITHOUT reading lyrics. That's damn impressive. Mixing quality through the roof with this one.
- I can very easily discern Link and Morshu's voice from each other. That's incredible. the King's full voice makes his side as full as Linkshu's duet.
- Essentially a lyrical cover for the piece. those lyrics are competent and catchy, even!
- You ANIMATED IT?!?!!? the beginning sequence and ending cutscene was very pleasing to see.
- The subtle details! Both the morshu-ified background on Linkshu's side and the Harken-ified castle on his side. The dumpster's filled with bombs!
You've made a masterpiece. This was 100% worth it to wait for. The others were quality as well, but I cannot give this enough praise.
Edit: Noticed Link building in Linkshu's background as I was listening again. Beautiful.
The potion in the middle has a face on it.
When Linkshu says "Lamp oil, rope, bombs", he attacks the King with lamp oil, rope and a bomb.
SILENCE KNAVE
I WILL NOT CAVE
I'M THE KING
TRUE PEACE IS ALL I CRAVE
The opening stanza shows the nobility of his character (besides the whole delving into an extra-dimensional shopping hellscape to save his companion / paramount knight). He gives the vibe that he craves true peace not because of the person he happens to be, but because he believes that's what those who bear the lofty title of "king" should strive for. A king who wants nothing but true peace for his people is one who truly deserves to rule.
I'VE PAID ENOUGH TO BE SHAMED
FOR PEACE I WON'T BARGAIN
...
THIS TRANSACTION I SHALL END
Is he referring to having lost Link, his most favored champion, to the wiles of this demonic shopkeep who operated right under his nose all this time? Or perhaps is the shame referring to a prior dealing he had with Morshu (or whatever has possessed him) that he managed to extricate himself from? Either way, he has seen now the price of showing mercy to this corrupting element and, as if lamenting that past transaction, refuses to bargain again with the demon to restore peace to his land and relinquish Link. He chooses to save his land and his lad by his own blade, and through sheer force of will, he triumphs over darkness at the cost of his own life, a cost that he knew he had to pay upon entering that portal. With his body crushed, his heart and his belief in Link, his honored champion, is so great that he stays death's hand for a few moments longer to drag his broken body towards Link to cleanse him of the corruption with the triforce of courage. So dies King Harkinian, first of his name, last of his line! May his deeds never be forgotten!
I know this is 100% unintentional, but it tickles the history buff in me that historically, nobility and rich business owners were frequently at odds and fighting for power, so Spamton and the King make for strangely appropriate enemies.

“i’ve paid enough to be shamed” really sticks in my head
The small details make this so much better, like at 1:47 when they say "lamp oil, rope, bombs" while shooting those out their mouth in that order
I have waited long for this thrilling instalment, within this YTP epic and already I can tell that it was time well spent. This is one of the best YTPMVs around; it's slick as oil in both sound and visuals, but without a hint of crudeness to it's name. It goes beyond a fun take on a fantastic song, and is truely its own thing with a mirror polish. Keep up the immaculate work, and have a lovely day.
really sad that king harkian died, this series is so good.
also "no negotiating" "then ill take" is such a raw line
No AI will ever come close to the sheer skill of sentence mixing with this few lines
I can’t get over how good this is. For most of the the song it seems that both the King and Link/Morshu are trying to come to an agreement with each other, and once they realize that the other won’t budge it escalates really quickly. The build-up is absolutely incredible at 1:44 when the King says “I have no choice I must now fight” and gets met with “No match for my might” right before they begin to attack each other. Insanely well done video
king of the ytpmv is back! the work done here is insane, not many people can get these characters talking other lines normally, let alone SING?! seriously, incredible work!
Honestly the first time I listened to this it sounded off, but now it sounds great. The clear cuts adds character.
“Give up haggling with fate” is a strong fucking line.
I like how Morshu is holding Frozen Birdly instead of a rubee
So that's why it's that shade of blue... I always thought it was a Pipis egg thingy, like the ones Spamton is known for.
This is the type of YTPMV you watch for the audio, the the visuals, and then the visuals AGAIN because so much is going on! This is beyond incredible so much custom sprite work as well!
Wow, can't believe it's been almost a year now, but well worth the wait. Fantastic song and story, awesome and tragic in equal measure. I've seen a lot of (well-deserved) love for 'King, you can't negotiate' 'Then I'll _take!'_ but I also want to give a shout out to 'No trade, my place is to show you why true warriors strive for what is right!'. Also, 'Lamp oil, rope, bombs, it's yours, my friend' sounds somehow delightfully creepy in this version, I guess because of Link's delivery?
Now I have to wonder about a few details of the story. Hark seems to imply that he's made some sort of deal with Spamshu before that he apparently regrets ('No trade, I've paid enough to be shamed'), so I wonder what that's about. The Spamton entity clearly wants the Triforce, but is that something the original Spamton is searching for, or Splink? ('Your Triforce was never yours' I guess implying that it's Link's and he wants it back). Is there even any meaningful difference between the original Spamton and Splinkshu at this point, or are they some sort of unified mind by now?
And then, of course, the ending. Spamton appears to have been defeated for good, and taken Morshu with him, but at the cost of Hark's life. Is Spamton truly defeated? Where is Gwonam taking the now-cured Link? (Most likely back to the castle, but do we really know for sure?) What's going on with Ganon from the last episode? All intriguing questions, and I for one would love to see more.
Hark's "I've paid enough to be shamed" was more a reflection of current circumstances. He feels (irrational) guilt and responsibility for the situation. Could be he regrets possessing the triforce instead of Link, which arguably is what made Link vulnerable to corruption to begin with.
As for desiring the triforce, there's many motivating factors there. Could be it's simply an objective of the overall "plan", or perhaps just an arbitrary melding of internal desires and knowledge with the twisted persuasions of the "dark" influence that has invaded this universe.
Even better is the question of what happens to Hark himself. Is he truly dead, or is the quest now to revive him just like his was to revive Link? Man, there are so many details to absorb even in just a couple minutes!!!
You knocked it out of the park on this one. The pitch-bending, the writing, the animations- it’s all so dang good. I did not expect to be so enthralled by that ending, either. It’s both a loving homage to Chapter 2’s early internet vibes AND enough of a twist to stand on its own as a killer battle scenario!
1:21 king: "I'LL PROTECT THIS LAND AND YOU LINK!"
Link and morshu: "rave party time"
is just expeted a vocal snippet from one of King Harkinians lines, kinda like the Mr. beast meme, but this,
this is art
I clicked on this thumbnail by accident. I watched this, and I quickly realized it wasn’t an accident at all. It was a wonderful stroke of fate. Amazing work!
Not only is this a really clean mix with good lyrics and story, but the slide note for "I will not cave" at 0:29 - 0:31 is unbelievably clean and knocks my socks off every time I hear it! I can't believe I've only gotten this recommended to me now; you've got a new subscriber!
This man is a true giga chad, he left his dinner cold and sent his whole navy just to save his boy
Truly certified king moment
Where has this been for the past six months of my life?
The lyrics actually go so hard. I would unironically watch a whole movie of this.
LITERALLY, best media I've consumed maybe ever
Please, my friend, you simply must continue this beautiful and exciting epic...
Day two: i just noticed at the beginning the king parried a rock from an octorock with his sword
Day 4: 2:21 I can't get over how funny is Gwoman just smashing the window, , taking link, doesn't even flinch at seeing the king dead, and leaves with link, truly a Chad.
The lyrics are rediculously well writen for a video so goofy.
Upon several rewatches while playing this in the background as I study, I notice many more details. Snowgrave Gem, Link buildings in addition to the morshu ones that were already there. "Hyrule" castle in the background of the King.
I like the detail of Morshu's face being barely visible on Splinkshu's chest in that static gemstone looking thing. Also, Link and Morshu being included in the "Spamton Land" background is pretty cool. I may be overanalyzing but the Link towers gives me a lifeless vibe, all of the original personality washed away with little more more than a constant, never changing grin devoid of genuine emotion.
Also, the lyrics are on point!
It's honestly legendary to see all these characters from an ancient, obscure, and memed Zelda game used in YTPs have this kind of amazing story and character arcs, especially the king. XD Amazing work putting this together!
