I really, really wanna know the context of why "I spent a billion Mobiums" clip isn't spliced and is a naked pharaoh Robotnik proudly exclaiming it.
In the series, Robotnik spent 1 billion Mobiums to build his new Casino Night Zone. Sonic destroyed it or something and he recently was getting slave workers to build an Egyptian monument (the cat one laying down, I think it’s literally just pharaoh) with his face on it instead.

Casino Night Zone (not destroyed) was a means of getting more slaves (they'd end up in debt to Robotnik's rigged games). "I spent a billion Mobiums!" was disbelief at the fact that the casinos were sitting unused if he spent that much on them (because Grounder had the key all the time, and never thought to actually open them for business)

I love this video. A terrific insight into Robotnik’s descent into madness.
He starts out not in control, unable to win the race. He tries to use others to make him happy, but it doesn’t work. They failed in the end, and the competitors call him insults, mocking both him and his confidants, his only way to achieve happiness. He is spiraling out of control both literally and figuratively
Until he snaps.
His demeanor is different. He loosens his restraints, and begins to cheat. He hasn’t removed all of his restraint quite yet, but he has slipped enough to resort to trafficking. His role as protagonist in the song throws the morality of his action into question. He merely desires to be happy, but do the ends justify the means? A billion mobiums is a lot, but don’t we all splurge time to time?
He still restrains himself, however. He decides that he has earned a promotion in his own business; a promotion in his own psyche that he WILL achieve happiness through winning a race. He keeps himself in check by delaying his promotion, still clinging on to his ideals of fairness. He can see the fun begin, but he is still losing control.
He won. He’s done it. The peak of his downward spiral.
Hes let go of all restraint. He spends ALL of his money. He gives himself a promotion TODAY. The nice Egg is gone, and the Hard Boiled Egg is all that remains. Despite going mad, he grows back his hair, he has a son! He even dictates when the fun is officially over.
But one more sliver of the Nice Egg remains. In a brief moment of compassion, he gives the bully back to his competitor, as a sign of good faith. The two identities of Nice Egg and Hard Boiled Egg have merged, creating the perfect Eggman

I particularly enjoyed how his spiral was portrayed as a positive thing in his life and a much needed kickstart to his goal of happiness. Though, if Hard Boiled Egg remained without Nice Egg, I’m positive Robotnik would not have achieved his goal. A satisfying conclusion to a satisfying story of insanity, personal motivation, and the irrational behaviors of rational people

I remember when I was younger that I hated this version of robotnik over the more serious sonic TV show. But now as an adult, theres a lot of charm in the cartoony version and definitely has the amazing voice performance
As a kid I wanted the cartoon to follow the lore more closely and was a bit disappointed with no knuckles but YTPMVs like this really rekindled my interest in the late 2000s onwards. Long John Baldry is fantastic
@mlg noob Sometimes the inverse is true. When you’re young you often want to seem more mature than you actually are, and when you’re older that is no longer a concern so you’re able to enjoy “kiddy” shows for the merits they have, and with a more refined palate.
I’ll probably never go out of my way to watch this show but I do find what I’ve seen of Robotnik to be incredibly entertaining.

He just wanted to tarnish Sonic's pride a bit by beating him in a race (even if he did play dirty).
This would actually be a pretty good plot for a cartoon/TV show episode: The villain is tired of always losing to the hero, so he decides to go all-out, putting every last bit of all of the power and resources at his disposal just to beat the hero in one contest. And in the end, he does it - but the hero is a good sport, congratulates him on his victory, and leaves, then the villain realizes he has nothing left because he used it all up in his plan to win. So even though he won, he still loses in the end.
I Honestly like eggman in this video, he doesn't threaten scratch or grounder into helping him, instead promising them a reward for helping him out.
He realises he can't beat sonic the legit way, so used his capture experience to take tails and force sonic to throw the race instead.
He is legitimately very happy about winning the race and celebrates after doing so, and keeps his word to sonic, releasing tails as promised.
He really DID just want to win the race :D

this feels like a really goofy thing to say, but specifically in these YTPMVs I love the "choreography". Robotnik jumping up and down with the horizontal axis mirror is very satisfying and fun. I have similar feelings about Robotnik Rock. It's very unique and ads a lot to the experience. And it's hard to put into words LOL

Can we all stop to appreciate how well you can understand the lyrics. In most ytp style videos its really hard to understand what their saying but in this its super clear what he's saying. Great job and absolute banger.
Most ytps/ytpmvs try to form words with already existing audio, making it really hard to know what they are saying. (They also normally make it way too fast, lmao.)

It's because it's not crap. It has structure, it's understandable, it's fun, it's not a load of meme-shit, and of course it's got a sick beat.

I work in an office and whenever there is an important audit to be done or some other big project, or sometimes even just day to day data entry, I always play this song on loop to get me through it. It's always been really motivating! I don't know what it is, but between the amazing beat and Robotnik's confident vibes, I feel like I can channel the fat man's energy and make anything happen, even if it seems hard or daunting. A few months ago I even started kinda using the lines "Finally everyone will know it, I'm the boss and you know it, right? Oh yes I am, and now I'm ready to conquer every inch of Mobius" and its subsequent line "Finally everyone will see it, I'm the best and you know it, right? Oh yes I am and now I'm ready to conquer the UNIVERSE!!" as like a sort of positivity mantra? It must have worked because as of last month I'm officially the manager of my own department. It feels really good!

I usually don't like spliced songs because although it takes incredible effort I just don't like the disjointed sounds. But this edit just flows so smoothly o.o Probably one of the best of these I've ever seen
Yeah, Eggman sure speaks weird enough in the series to make rhythmic songs off of it.
I think it helps because their attire doesn't change constantly in an unrealistic way. I've seen some of these things where the look of the characters change all the time as it's just bits and bobs from all episodes put together, and that ruins it for me too, even if it sounds smooth lol.

This is actually the best ytpmv I've ever seen. Like instead of just imitating a song it creates its own song. Which I think is crazy impressive. Its quite rare to see such innovations, especially in an art form that is largely dying under the current youtube climate.
Okay, I loved this from the first time I heard this, but after coming from the video on how you even make these YTPMVs in the first place just makes me appreciate this all over again.

Dude, seconded. As soonas I saw the opening was literally one sound mixed into a dozen I had my jaw dropped. This is so well done considering not only the sampling but the sequencing of coherent lyrics which require an intimate enough knowledge to find the spliced soundbites. Two thumbs up!
