real talk, making shop venders bosses is something games should do more often. They're the characters that often have plenty of personality, and the player forms an emotional attachment to them due to the fact that they have to interact with them constantly throughout the game.
the closest one I can think of is that dude from lisa the painful. If he finds out your a girl he attacks you pretty weakly for a easy kill but your out of the only consistent shop throughout the game and towards the end of the game if you try to buy from him you find out he became a joy mutant and be forced into battle

The final seconds where you see Link in his Spamton-Neo garb represents him becoming a Spamton-Superfan. Also the fully animated Morshu-Neo that moves like a real boy is amazing. You really out did yourself.

real talk, making shop venders bosses is something games should do more often. They're the characters that often have plenty of personality, and the player forms an emotional attachment to them due to the fact that they have to interact with them constantly throughout the game.
Roguelikes do it a fair bit, though often you have to attempt to steal from them first.
the closest one I can think of is that dude from lisa the painful. If he finds out your a girl he attacks you pretty weakly for a easy kill but your out of the only consistent shop throughout the game and towards the end of the game if you try to buy from him you find out he became a joy mutant and be forced into battle

One thing I'm surprised that's been rarely mentioned about this absolutely stellar video is the near perfect loop.
