Camera flip for lefties cannot be done as lefties hold and move differently and a camera flip will not work for knitting.
This video is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. The captioning is also available in multiple languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. The written pattern is only available in English.
Project Size: Toddler 2 - 4 Years Only, Kids 6 - 8 Years Old and Average Adult Sizes
Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows in stocking stitch.
    Designer: Yarnspirations Design Team
    Stitch Multiple is 4 sts + 1
Needle Size on Pattern: 6.5 mm / US 10.5
Yarn In Pattern: Bernat Softee Chunky. Note the pattern is using the 14 oz, 400 g balls but those are discontinued. I used the 100 grams balls. I needed 1 ball for Limelight and 1 Ball of Natural for the adult version. In the Toddler version I used 1 ball of Pumpkin but there wasn't enough to hand make a pom pom. So you will need two balls for that.

Thank you for showing how to knit. Crocheting can really put into burn out like everything else. I've been wanting to learn to knit but, I haven't found the right yt video. You just explain things better than others do.

    Thanks, Mikey!
Just an FYI- if a lefty wants to learn from this, he or she can just do with the left hand what you are doing with your right and the same for swapping the other hand.
That’s how I learned to knit (from Marly). I did have to figure out some things with holding the yarn, but it worked out.
    This was great! Thanks.

This is so great! I have been trying to learn to knit but have only mastered the knit stitch. You made the purl and making a hat seem so much less daunting. Thank you!

I really appreciate that you left in your tiny struggles and didn’t edit them out. I’ve tried to teach myself knitting in the past and have thrown it across the room in frustration 😅. This gives me hope and I think I’ll give it a fourth or fifth try. As always, Thank You Mikey!!!!

Great tutorial! I've been watching all the new knitting videos and you're really giving me the urge/motivation to try and give knitting yet another try. I really like the hat you made for yourself with the different color brim. I'm sure it's easy, but can you show us how to change colors in a project? I want to thank you for all you do! 😊👍

I have never tried to knit before but you inspired me. I'm trying to make this hat but in the round but I think I've done something wrong because it just doesn't look ribbed. Mind you I haven't gotten very far, it is taking me a lot of time per round.

Gracias 👋 Saludos

wanted to give a quick tip with patterns. you know those transparency markers our teachers used to use when using an overhead projector? you can still find them. laminate thise patterns or put them into a page clear protector. then you can write all over your pattern. the ink wont just rub off if you touch it. when you are done with the pattern, simply use some alcohol or water to clean the markings off of your patterns. this way, you dont have to keep reprinting them.

Mickey the way you pulled the hat closed by forming the loop, does this work as well for crochet beanie? I always have a difficult time pulling the top of the hat close.

Yes, you can do the same in collecting the stitches. We've done that before in other projects. So it's a thing for sure.
