This is an excellent video for all to watch. Now I even more understand why all these filters should be removed from a diesel system. One day the King's ransom will come to an end.
I commend you for taking this issue head on in order to make our diesels better in the future!!!

I don’t have a problem with the emissions system, I have a problem with the unrealistic count down mandated by the epa. If something goes wrong, I will fix it, that being said it may not be with in 150 miles! I need to get home first! Unfortunately the countdown left me stranded and I had to delete the entire system. Shame on the EPA for the countdown till 5mph!

Thank you for making these! I drive a 2002 and someday it may be forced on me to add this shit, so it is good to at least semi understand it. I also enjoy seeing aftermarket upgrades coming out, gives me hope for the future. I love the environment, and I have zero issues making my truck cleaner. But the rules need to be fair and the products need to exist to do it...

I appreciate the impressive engineering here, but I'd still rather see a $500 annual "vehicle enthusiast carbon permit" because 200,000 people burning diesel in an open pit instead of driving thier heavily tuned trucks will still be less polluting than the Amazon and Walmart shopping an equivalent number of people do annually, buying everything from heavy pollutant countries is apparently fine with the EPA. All the unrestricted diesel enthusiasts in the world combined would still not add up to .01% of what emissions seaborne transport just to the USA creates annually, not even including the actual production of the goods on those ships🤦‍♂️

Great video. I have a 2013 Ram diesel with only 50k miles on it. At around 30k it started giving me messages to have the DEF system serviced. After a while the messages go away and come back regularly. On my vacation a warning came on that in 300 miles the 15mph cripple will happen. I drove on and after a few of these messages they stopped and I continued on my 2500 mile vacation trip. I want to delete my truck and reprogram the computer. However after watching your video it seems that instead of removing and replacing the exhaust system, I could just drill out the DPF. What do you think?

    • @wtbman
      @wtbman Год назад

Nope. ECU will notice the lack of back pressure at the DPF and cripple you. You could stealth delete by drilling it out and changing tuning.

Last summer I was towing my boat and looked in the passenger mirror and there was slight black smoke coming out the back I was slowly loosing boost. I pulled off the road had my pops come grab the boat, after an hour with the truck sitting there I fired it back up and it was still the same I took off and drove the truck back to his place about 10 miles away I was rolling coal on a stock truck. I had an injector that was stuck open that’s why I was rolling coal not a bad turbo. I had gotten the exhaust manifold hot and it warped. I took off the exhaust system as well it wasn’t too bad to do and cleaned it with a vacuum and air compressor and then a dpf liquid cleaner. Bad turbo = white smoke, lack of boost = warped exhaust manifold, you may have a crack in the honey comb in your dpf system. What’s your truck acting like? The mechanic charged me $1,300 to get the exhaust manifold redone with new gaskets.

Crown Lifestylist our 2015 running 650-700hp just passed emissions in Colorado with .01% opacity. We are installing all the testing equipment to begin emissions testing in house. 800hp is the top end of where you will see some soot loading. As with most high horsepower vehicles there are some trades off at the highest power levels and can be turned up and down accordingly depending on application. Go up to 800hp for the track, maybe knock it down to 650-700hp to tow and DD. Again, let’s remember they are ZERO other legal options like this on the market.

The DOC can burn the injected diesel and help the DPF to regenerate so it should be just before the DPF. And the injector to the Urea would not get soot on it of it was after. Plus the Heat from the regeneration help prevent small crystal build-up happen in the SCR and around the Urea injector

Paul, when you burn the fuel clean enough EGR is cleaner and has much less negative impact than soot loading it. It’s not BS it’s called fuel atomization and increased airflow.

@@ATSDieselPerformance , whatever, clean tune its a factory tune and the egr and egr cooler clogged around 70,000 miles, second all that exhaust gases enter to ours intake manifold without filtering you know i respect your company but please don't make this kind of videos saying what other people want to said because no one in the live create a machine to be self-destruct. I know its a new era we need to used all that kind off stuff buts that's no mean in any circumstance its healthy to the Engine.

Paul Otero in this new era we have to play by the rules. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, these are the parameters we have to work within. It’s not our first choice by any means but we will continue to strive to make legal power solutions for our customers. Thank you for your comments!

It’s crazy, think about how many diesel trucks are sold in America? If we all came together and demanded this crap is removed from our trucks.
The sound is like a diesel type writer
They cost more money to maintain (def)
They are prone for issues (bad def, limp mode)
    They cost more to manufacture
They are not environmentally friendly (plastic container, cardboard box, more metal for the exhaust system)

Lol he said clean exhaust. The DEF is killing vegetation around road ways because of the ammonia.
Then add the fact that you are burning more fuel during regen as much as 50% more. As the trucks get older they go into regen a lot more often.
Sorry but a clean tune with all that shit removed is far better as mpg go up a ton. So in the long run it’s a clean tune not black smoke along with less fuel burned. Delete delete delete

And what happens when you are 1500 miles from home, dealer cant get you in for 4 weeks, DEF pump is needed and on national backorder, and this truck is used for work. Quit carrying the water for the EPA, "We The People" don't want this shit!

I think we need to use diesel as a base carrier fuel that is thinned out with a different combustive liquid compound instead of trying to clean up the mess it makes.
