Yes. Him and Eddie have almost a delay on the beat. They hit the chord, note or the drum just before it would be out of time and it sounds so loose but dirty as fuck.
Best description I've ever heard of Eddie's solo on this song was that if you could HEAR James Brown dancing, his footwork, it would sound like this solo.
Never understood why this song wasn't more popular w the masses...my all time favorite VH joint. Embarrassed to say it, but was the song I posed to my very 1st bodybuilding show in 1993 ☺😏🤷♂️
If you were to tell me 30 years ago that Van Halen would kinda be underrated and forgotten? Sheesh. There was eager anticipation for every new Van Halen release. we'd be buzzing for weeks. You had no idea what you'd get but you knew it was going to be something original, amazing, ingenious! So versatile. Fresh, new approach and sounds. Respect.
Awesome, so cool to see someone reacting to deep cuts of the GOAT of all bands. I commend you for exploring the songs of my favorite band since I was 8 years old. I'm 47 now, and all these years later, Alex Van Halen is still my favorite drummer and the guy who inspired me to start playing as a kid. His best drum track? The INSANE Loss Of Control. You gotta check that out, but play it with the instrumental intro to it, Tora!Tora! Cheers!
Eddie is pretty much the only guitarist in history to create great melodies and shred at the same time. Some guitarists can create catchy melodies and are solid guitar players. Other guitarists can shred and or are incredibly technical. They are amazing players, but they cant compose pop, rock, hard rock songs that are universally liked. Eddie is the only to really do both. His massive catalog shows how prolific he really was.
What i appreciate about you brother, unlike others reactions who grab VH pop stuff, you really grind into songs that are really tasty but unnoticed. Appreciate that.
Awesome...."Somebody get me a Doctor" is always a banger....and "Fools" from 1980...the year of the 1980 INVASION Tour...just great Van Halen. Peace to you and peace to Eddie and family....we miss you and love you 😍
Hey Jay, this is a deep track, but it goes to show that the Mighty Van Halen kills! Maybe "On Fire," "Somebody get me a Doctor," or "Take Your Whiskey Home." If you venture into the Sammy Hagar era, try "In and Out," but do the live track ruclips.net/video/SnRGJvItBaU/видео.html Love Rules...and so does Jesus! Blessings
Great fucking song!! Some suggestions would be The full bug, feel your love tonight, so this is love, could this be magic, top jimmy, women in love. Keep up the sick vids man🤘
With all these Diamond Dave era VH songs you have been listening to, I think you can understand why they are the only band to have TWO (VHI & 1984) Diamond Certified albums just from sales in the US. They didn't do a lot of touring outside the US, but if they did their sales and popularity would be even greater. The true American legends, Diamond Dave, Edward, Alex and Michael... The Mighty Van Halen!
Hey Jay Rah, VH Mondays rock! Thanks for the great cuts from a band that could really lay it down. A Happy Year End and all the best in '21 from Oregon, C.
Jay, awesome song, great reaction. That song has got some sick FUNK-moves with that riff and the drums. Nice. But, please do the song "You're No Good", which is a cover song (originally recorded by Linda Ronstadt), and is the first song on the VHII album! Rocks, my man!!
It's a short one, but the "Spanish Fly" is a must listen, since it's just a minute of Eddie going crazy on a poor, unsuspecting acoustic guitar. It's also off of Van Halen II just like "Outta Love Again" and other tracks you've reacted to recently so it'll go really well with the mix ;)
Good selection ! Keep those VH Monday’s coming.....I would like to see you react to Little Guitars with intro....it really shows another cool side of this great party band !!
Love VH Mondays! If you are into spicy I would suggest On Fire, Mean Street, Romeo Delight, In a Simple Rhyme, Fools, Hear About it Later....too many to list 😊. Love your reactions
'Outta Love Again' ~ to me, that's VH stepping into punk rock. So cool. And wait until you hear 'Light Up the Sky'. All of their songs have good "re-listenability" . :D
Check out and react to the youtube video of 'So This Is Love' live from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Roth with some cool spanish stage banter and Eddie, Alex, and Michael kill it!!!
I realize now that this album didn't sound sonically as good as the first one because of the mix. They really mixed Dave's voice too loud on this album. That was a mistake. Every time he was singing he was drowning out the rest of the band. But this is one of the greatest Van Halen songs nonetheless. My favorite sounding Van Halen album is fair warning. Everything is perfect!
Lemme talk for a sec... 1984 was my favorite album of all time. Until Blood Sugar Sex Magic and Undertow came out, that is. 1984 was a most impressionable age for me because I was eleven and didn't know a goddamned thing about life. By 1992 I was still stupid but a more sophisticated sorta stupid. My point being that the music of one's youth, regardless of actual quality, will always mean more and sound better than the nowadays. To the end of one's days. Ridiculous...
I dont think ive ever heard you give DLR any props for his vocals. Haters like to bag on Roth but VH would not be VH without Diamond Dave His signature sound is undeniably great
I definitely agree with you that Alex is truly “underrated “ as a drummer! That guy clocks in and goes to WORK!
Yes. Him and Eddie have almost a delay on the beat. They hit the chord, note or the drum just before it would be out of time and it sounds so loose but dirty as fuck.
Every song off of the first four Van Halen albums are fire. I’ve said it before I’ll say it again all of them.
The drums in this track are just sick.
Discovering Van Halen will change your life.
Best description I've ever heard of Eddie's solo on this song was that if you could HEAR James Brown dancing, his footwork, it would sound like this solo.
Alex Van Halen shows how good he really is on this track. Try listening to “ Hear about it later”
Alex is killing it! Highly underrated drumming!
Never understood why this song wasn't more popular w the masses...my all time favorite VH joint. Embarrassed to say it, but was the song I posed to my very 1st bodybuilding show in 1993 ☺😏🤷♂️
Fine choice. Alex has the deep groove in this rocker. Dave's whistle register screams are so good and on display in this one.
Respect.
Got to give props to Michael Anthony one of the most underrated bass players and a great backup singer
Drop Dead Legs. Just pulled one at random. 😀
Or Girl Gone Bad
Both great songs and add House of Pain for another deep track!!
I second Drop Dead Legs!
GREAT cut...
Rebecca DDL was great in concert!😁
They don’t have a bad song!! Great groove laid down by the band, as you perfectly pointed out! Please react to Hear About it Later!!
Every cut with David Lee Roth through out the entire catalog is "Too Spicy".
Van halen- little dreamer awesome song.
Probably the best Alex groove. Other songs that show the drums off are Hot For Teacher, Push Comes to Shove, Pleasure Dome with Hagar singing.
Yes, alex is a great rock drummer.

Nowhere near the level of Ed, but damn Prince was fuckin solid. And he crossed many genres.

ED IS MUSIC
Ridiculously spicy!!!!
Great band they back then was the hard stuff and still today timeless.
"In a Simple Rhyme" is a good one to do
What i appreciate about you brother, unlike others reactions who grab VH pop stuff, you really grind into songs that are really tasty but unnoticed. Appreciate that.
Alex really is underrated.

My favorite Van Halen song is this one.😁
My favorite song of all time and you feel the same way i get feeling sense. Swagger and savagery.
Best track on the album
Great fucking song!! Some suggestions would be The full bug, feel your love tonight, so this is love, could this be magic, top jimmy, women in love. Keep up the sick vids man🤘
Little Guitars and Dirty Movies, bro.
You're missin' out.
Yes Dirty Movies! ...and Push Comes to Shove!
These are so great. Nobody was better when Van Halen was in their prime.
This my first Van Halen LP...and have to say it took multiple listens to get it...but it did come across ....def a moment when music changed
Try "Everybody Wants Some."
🤘🤘🤘❤👍such a cool song!!!
Glad to see Van Halen Monday!!
jamie's crying , dance the night way
Thank you so much 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I gave u a thumbs up just because of that intro. 😁
Check out their last album called A Different Kind of Truth from 2012. For example the song China Town.
Stay frosty 🥶
PURE AND BEAUTIFUL INSANITY AND LOVELINESS ALL IN ONE!! AMAZING REACTION BROTHER~~~!!!!

The first time I heard that song, I was like Waaatf ! You would definitely like Mean Streets.👍
Best tune on VH2, ferocious
He's jamming with Jimi Hendrix in guitar heaven!!!
Glad to see ya got to a long time request!!! VH just kicks ass!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yess!!
Hey Jay Rah, VH Mondays rock! Thanks for the great cuts from a band that could really lay it down. A Happy Year End and all the best in '21 from Oregon, C.

This song is for everybreathing Man
Nice pick and GREAT RX! Go with The Full Bug, Little Guitars, Fire or Women In Love next.
Missed ya last week. Keep doing these ! I appreciate all your music breakdowns.
Time for “Take Your Whiskey Home” which is a fucking MONSTER. You make Monday’s matter, good sir.
Van Halen - Take your whiskey home
Cool track, reminds me of "On Fire" from the first album
One bad ass song!
Good selection ! Keep those VH Monday’s coming.....I would like to see you react to Little Guitars with intro....it really shows another cool side of this great party band !!
too cool!
I'm not sure have you done ice cream man yet? Another one you really got to check out is dirty water dog and fire in the hole.
Atomic punk? It’s a good one.
That was exactly what I would hope, somebody would get out of that song. How you described Eddies style was spot on.
Dance the Night Away Official Video!! I don't think anyone on youtube has reacted to it.
Love VH Mondays! If you are into spicy I would suggest On Fire, Mean Street, Romeo Delight, In a Simple Rhyme, Fools, Hear About it Later....too many to list 😊. Love your reactions
Forgot that one. Thought they’d “drop” again, but it ended. Too bad. Jeezus that was good
All 4 of them were on point that day.
So not outta love with VH! Much love! Great reaction!
That riff is filthy.
Good to see VH Monday's are still alive. Recommend Girl Gone Bad, everybody wants some, Drop dead legs...cheers
Love ya bro
That's my Van Halen grove before the switched up and got a little soft.
Tasty solo 😮🎸
VICSIOUS.. nasty... filthy.. love it!
'Outta Love Again' ~ to me, that's VH stepping into punk rock. So cool. And wait until you hear 'Light Up the Sky'.
All of their songs have good
"re-listenability" . :D
Who are these kooks wait till you hear........these songs are old dillrods....
This is their sickest song ever....
Great overall band performance, but Alex just crushes here.
Some VH essentials that you've possibly missed: Dancing in the streets, Dance the night away, Pretty woman
No.... Sorry...
Blows, hard rock and heavy on the jazz. Terrfiic
You would absolutely love "Dirty Movies" and "Take Your Whiskey Home."
Kook
All great Van Halen suggestions here in the comments. Here’s another vote for
“Take Your Whiskey Home” cheers 🤙🏼
Love this song, but I still think the best groove they ever did was, "Mean Street"
Who had more attitude and brought the goods to back it up better than Van Halen? Absolutely nobody.
Atomic Punk!!!!!
This guitar riff may have been inspired by Way Back to the Bone by Trapeze
Check out and react to the youtube video of 'So This Is Love' live from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Roth with some cool spanish stage banter and Eddie, Alex, and Michael kill it!!!
EDWARD! ☮️
Bro you bring the good Van Halen
I realize now that this album didn't sound sonically as good as the first one because of the mix. They really mixed Dave's voice too loud on this album. That was a mistake. Every time he was singing he was drowning out the rest of the band. But this is one of the greatest Van Halen songs nonetheless. My favorite sounding Van Halen album is fair warning. Someone say more drums ? That snare !
Eddie had swing!
Diary of a Madman - Ozzy - please.
Cradle will rock or little guitars
Try listening to ‘As Is’ (released in 2012).
You gotta react to one of the best Pittsburgh artist Flatline Nizzy- real talk
HAI. I suggest you to react to Dream Girl by Curtis Harding. Keep it up with the good work. Love it
Lemme talk for a sec... 1984 was my favorite album of all time.
