The people of the Calf Canyon /Hermit's Peak fire still have not gotten the compensation they deserve. And that was 2 years ago. This fire caused even more damage then that one. The Federal government should pay the people from the Hermit's Peak fire . Some of those people are older people who can't afford to be waiting for compensation. They lost everything.

The town of Las Vegas and it's citizens went into a water issue/crisis since the flooding of rain water coming down mixed with ash to the reservoir. Bottled water has been shipped from nearby cities

The government doesn't want to pay the victims of the HPCC FIRE for our losses...it's all a bs paperwork game and now they give out money for smoke damages, whether you had them or not, while us fire victims still wait or are offered insulting amounts, all based on one stupid USDA agency assessment (NRCS)... It's all a scam somehow!

I still wonder why they never showed a fly over of the Hermit Peak Calf Canyon fire like this?... We lost so much and to be public deserves to see our devistation...and...I haven't seen a penny from any agency or FEMA🤕

No, the FBI was investigating arson. There was no lightning and not a cloud in the sky. This was arson, but now the state and feds are saying it was lightning.

Well, some forestry people think that Ruidoso looks just as beautiful as before, and perhaps from their vantage point it does.however for someone in a position of service such as is the forestry this kind of comment is both heartless and cruel to those whose lives have forever been changed due to these fires. The people who died will never see the beauty of Ruidoso again. I can not believe the forestry employees individuals who care not about the effect catastrophic fires have on the community, as long as their lives and their views are okay. So very wrong. I won't post the name of the individual ...their burden to bear. This will not heal in my lifetime . More catastrophic fires on the way thanks to forest mis management and bureaucratic failed policies. Friends of the fores are its greatest enemies.
