I saw you recently while you were in Mn and was BLOWN AWAY at yes of course how fast you were (which I hope to be) and how hilarious you were but most of all how you shared your knowledge and talked to us about the real life scenarios we all have as well as you still do. I was totally impressed with all Kim's Blonde Techniques at The Schwarzkopf Professional Essential looks 2014 that just took place in Toronto early May 2014. You are crazy funny and super talented! Thanks for sharing with Anna Ricci and Andrea Christodimitropoulos. And my first client after coming home from Toronto happened to be a perfect test ground for this technique and she totally loved it.
She needed to be toned a wee bit darker on zone 1... Then probably foil weave with both a level 7 lowlight and a regrowth highlight. It still looks too gold for her complexion and a lowlight would help break that flat gold base. But the demarcation is gone and her hair does look healthier!! So that's a plus!
for real tho. it doesn't look any different except straight.. she doesn't look too thrilled. i'd be pissed if i had to pay $500 for someone to flat iron and damage my hair :/
She told him she wanted to go for a natural look, and then he said, "Clients never mean what they say", and then proceeded to give her a super light blonde look! THAT ISNT A MORE NATURAL LOOK!!!!! Typical diva hairdresser, who wants to do what THEY WANT! I would have recommended that she moves into doing a biaylage technique, utilizing lighter biaylage at the roots (medium/light application of a level 9-10 blonde using bleach with 20vol-30vol depending on the model's level) and then weave out quite a few low lights (level 7 or 8 throughout, more lowlights in the back underneath, and on the sides underneath, and on the top, though less lowlights on the top and even less n the front!)it would give her a NATURAL LOOK SHE WAS ASKING FOR KIM VO!!!!
I think you misinterpreted what she said. She said she wanted a more natural looking blonde color - not the orange-gold color she had. Just because it's a light blonde doesn't mean it's not natural looking. She didn't want to back to her own natural color. I'm sure he discussed with her exactly what he was going to do before they started shooting the video.
I want Kim's color!! I need him! The problem I'm having is that my hair has been foiled/highlighted so often that it looks almost solid blond- but it's turning brassy - and the roots are darker every year. So, there's lots of dark brown - 2-3" under brassiness and I am weary of getting different toners that make it worse or full head foils that still leave so much dark hair showing thru the blond/brassiness. What to do? ( shave my head and start over again?)
Hell, I wish I was that fast in my application! And I think it looked different. No, it's not drastic but it's better. I know the color of the video is very distorted in this video but none of the others I've seen. Oh well to each their own :-)

in your blonde me pastel blonde video you should've used at least two pieces of cotton on each setion and on the top and the setions are to thick:( in this video he should"ve used cotton on the roots when he did the smuge

I like your thinking Andrew. to diminish more of that orange. A little more beige would have created a little more softness.
