    My Dad said I began my interest in electricity at the age of three with the wall outlet and a fork.
    It was a hair raising experience.
    I cant wait for reluctance and Jerkhoff's current/voltage laws.

    Hobo your a natural at this. You break it down and deliver such a clear concise approach to teaching. I’m not sure anyone does it better. It’s a shame and waste of your talents you limit yourself to primarily product reviews. I can’t wait to hear all your upcoming lectures. I think it will help you gain more subscribers eventually once you build up enough of these kinds of videos. PLEASE DO beyond just September

    “TI” Titanium has an electrical conductivity of 3.1% of that of copper. I have a titanium jet engine turbine wheel that’s been sitting outside for 30 years. Not one bit of corrosion. Of course it’s not pure titanium. It’s an alloy. Thank you for the excellent videos.

    Thanks for this overview! I learned the expensive way about aluminum wiring in the home as many Florida homes built in the 50's used this. At some point a wise electrician noticed and remarked "do you know what a fire hazard you potentially have here?" Of course for all we know, in 2100, people may say "that old house still has copper wiring!"

    A lot of solar charge controller manufacturers allow you to oversize the pv wattage by 30%. What the limit is, I haven’t pushed it more than that. Now voltage limits…I stay under at least 15% in the summer, because of the increased voltage output in cold weather.

    This explains why the aluminum shims I made from cans to expand the diameter of my battery terminals to work with the stretched worn out battery clamps, did not work very well, and was basically a project failure. Too much resistance, because of the conductor material.

      One thing I'm stumped with is running 100 watt panels to my Bluetti (EB3A and AC180 model) works when I step up to a 200 watt panel, the power stations do not recognize it, I've tried various different wires and connectors, and my multimeter shows the panel putting out. What am I doing wrong?

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 месяца назад +1

      The VOLTS video tells you to check the Voc of the panel and make sure it doesn't exceed what the power station can take.

    An easy way to remember which wire gauge is bigger is to think of it like a fraction. If you have a 2g and a 4g wire: 1/2 is larger than 1/4. It works with camera apertures, too. f2 is a bigger aperture (opening) than f4. f2 lets in more light than f4...but you lose depth of field with the larger aperture (how much is in focus front to back).

    If you release a drop of water and a gallon of water simultaneously in a vacuum, they will fall the same speed (relative to voltage).
    But, a gallon is going to hit a hell of a lot harder than the drop.
    The gallon being the larger current source

    I was taught that the amps fed into a DC breaker box is the total potential draw from that box. So I can feed a 12v box with a 12v, 30 amp AC to DC converter, then pull up to 30 amps from the various connected DC draws in my van (e.g. puck lights, fans, diesel heater start up coil, etc.). Is this correct??

    Suppose I have a 220W EcoFlow solar panel and also two River 3 power stations, which take 110W solar. I can charge a single River 3 power station from the 220W panel, but at 110W, the River 3 limit. Could the two River 3 power stations both be charged by the 220W solar panel simulateously? I am thinking it would be done with a parallel cable, but in reverse, splitting the solar panel output to two pairs of MC4's, each MC4 pair going to a River 3.

  • @artbremer4076
    @artbremer4076 3 месяца назад

    perhaps people connect the solar panels in parallel to get more efficiency out of them. In series, if one panel has poor light then all of them underperform.. I don't know just a thought

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 месяца назад +2

      MPPT wants high voltage. You get more power in series. Typically, if one panel is getting shade they all are.

    Just for clarity, SCC specs come with Isc (short circuit current) and Imp ( max power current), say isc is 22A and imp is 18A, would it be totally fine to supply PV at say 25A?. Logically i think it won't be a problem for the same reason mentioned in the video, coz we supply AC distribution of about 50A at 240V and that is totally fine for appliances as they draw only the required current. Please help.
    I'm only asking coz several (well known) youtubers say supplying more current to a SCC can let out it's magic smoke

    • @HOBOTECH
      @HOBOTECH  3 месяца назад

    Who knows how the 6 outlets are wired on the inside of the EcoFlow Delta2 Max? Are they all on the same buss bar or some high tech system that makes it to where no matter where you plug in what so long you do not exceed 20amp products?
