I wish Mack would get back in the game, all Mack too, no Volvo parts involved. I love the WS’s, always have, it’s just good to see more than one company get back in the green.
If you make a version of this video With Out the "music" I night be able to watch it all the way through. Us old guys that use to run chainsaws 10 hours a day, have a hard time hearing over the unnecessary noise. Nice Truck Thank you
I plan on buying 1 of these to bull haul with, if it can survive that with "minimal downtime" then once I get company up and running, will buy all WS49X for my fleet
All that I was ever around were junk, this was late 90’s early 2000’s, Paccar trucks would last 3 times as long, and cost about 30% more. The down time was not cost effective.
Daimler owns Feightliner, who manufactures the Western Star line of trucks. At one time White owned Western Star. The name has changed hands a few times over the years.
The 49x sleeper truck is nothing more then a freightliner cab and a strange looking hood. I have a 4900ex and love it but I think they should have done a little bit more on the 49x
An okay wagon, but would not touch one with a barge pole, but would consider buying if all the geeky tech is dumped. Am old school ,if you cannot fix the wagon by the roadside using basic tools, then it is useless, like a lawn mower on an oil rig.
Dimeler? Dimeler? Never heard Daimler pronounced like that before. He makes them sound cheap. Or is he coining a new phrase for Western Star trucks? The new Western Star "Nickle and Dimeler ". I shall start using this new phrase in our depot for our new Freightliners . It sounds much more refined than "Bags of Shit" we call the Peterbilts .
I am English and we have been pronouncing Daimler like one would say "aim" or how Americans say "dame", for over a hundred years since they started producing vehicles in UK. We also pronounce Volkswagen " Volkswagon" and Nissan as "Niss an", not like the North Americans "Neesarn". I can honestly say I have never heard them pronounced "Dimeler", even when I used to visit the Mercedes-Benz factory Germany in the 1980s, which they were known as Daimler-Benz, and they were pronouncing it "Deemler" with a bit of "Dimmler" mixed in. I'm not saying I'm right and I'm not saying he's wrong. It sounded funny to me and I do think it does sound cheaper than the way the British say it.
@Fishkeg. Please read again my reply to your question to me asking how do pronounce Daimler. I did say I wasn't right or the way the fellow said it on the video was wrong. I did say I thought it was funny, hence the tongue in cheek reply I gave in my first reply to the video.I didn't say it irritated me, nor does it. In fact I found it amusing. Another thing I and some traveling companions on one of our countless trips to Germany we came upon an American also traveling on motorbikes, like us he didn't speak the lingo but for some reason when he spoke to a German he would put on a German accent and sounded like Private Shultz, we thought he was having a joke , he wasn't and he had convinced himself that talking like a German speaking English he had a good command of the language and on our last day together he asked where we were going and my freind answered Munich, and he said "oh thats a pity I'm going to Munchen ,we could of spent the last day together ".We all had a laugh at his expence, him included.
You're not too bright. Logging actually helps the environment by reducing the dead fuel left behind when trees die, better irrigation, more natural water retention, and of course the logging industry MUST replant what they harvest. Typical dumbass liberal running your mouth yet know nothing of the true facts, and the way the real world works. Let me guess, you're vaccinated too right???
Great stuff! I love the exterior look of the 49X!!
“Quite exciting”is how the mechanic describes dealing with technology breakdowns.
Ya I kinda lold

I've always said WESTERN STAR is the finest rig money can buy ..

Great video 👍
That's cute but, give me an old Pacific any day.
What engine and trans in this truck? Horsepower and torque?
It's a great job,
is there a truck driver job available?
Wait for the email to be sent, if work is available, to contact your company .
Any heavy hauling from logging to Oilfield to heavy oversize loads Tri Drives all should be planetary diffs.
I have 2021 5700xe let us know how the wiring hold up, less than 60000 miles have 30 plus 2020 and 2021s and haul off road the wiring is $hit $hit
Same as a 19? Where are the problems.. 200k local lumber hauling and nothing serious and no serious downtime
We have 11 2019 4700s and they’ve had nothing but wiring and hvac issues since new
@@isaacrecord6162 thats 4700. Shitty for you.. we have 10 4700, 3 5700 and no issues... 4 4700 2021
Hmm! OK then. #keepontruckin 😉👍

Not sure how you’re putting it to failures if you’re doing what you do everyday with all your other trucks. Older trucks.
Need more space in the cab
Did Western Star always belong to Daimler?

Looks like a freightliner inside and out
Gave me the same impression.

ruclips.net/video/pZtKv1jhtZw/видео.html looks like a scene from snowrunner

Surprised that west coast log truck drivers would want an automatic transmission. No thanks.
Most of the 49x’s on Vancouver Island are 18 speeds. All of them pretty much.

Western star has no resale value .just got out of that trap with a 4900, Pacar is the only way to go .
I hope they are replanting trees after they cut the forest bare !
Either log them or let them burn down
If they didn’t, they would go out of business.
Little known fact a forest that’s been cut to remove older trees is healthier than an untouched forest and less susceptible to forest fires
Ewwww automatic
Western star was the built to last premium Canadian built logging truck in the 70s 80s 90s and early 2000s. th
This truck is not
donot forget to replant the trees you are violently destroying !
