- Adam unboxes and takes a first look at something he's been wanting forever: a custom dress form designed and fabricated to his exact physical measurements. Made by Beatrice Forms, this dress form was actually made using a custom 3D body scan, and Adam is astonished by how perfectly it fits his costumes--it's essentially a body double!

I know you've had the promos out for a while for them, but if you still need a good name for the 24 pack of _ALL_ the De-Merit Badges, then why not something like the "All In A Day's Work" pack?
I was originally thinking along the lines of "The Full Shop," but utilizing "All" in the title of the pack can't be passed up!
Maybe this has been asked and answered but is there any chance of a Mythbusters return or something similar? It would be great to see a return!
Adam, I'm pretty sure you're my long-lost brother.......okay, maybe a distant cousin? I love the dress form so much. I love how excited you are about it too. Your excitement brings me joy.
I also have to say that when you stand next to your body double, it seems larger than you. It really brings home the lesson in wardrobe color choice for the camera. Can't wait to see more using the dress form.

Oh, It definitely isn't! I bought one, she came called Beryl and after I saw her she's been called Barrel, ever since.
Felt exactly the same when I saw mine for the first time. It's a bit embarrassing and sort of awkward. I have to keep mine "clothed", because it is just too weird to see it standing there.
I love Adam lovingly "weathering" his beloved coat by just tossing it on the floor.

I was hoping to see the 'Screaming Adam' ballistic gel head on top.
This is amazing, but I’m not sure how I would react seeing such an accurate representation of my body, belly and all.
It's a shock.
I would love to see one. I am 50, overweight, scarred and dimpled from surgeries, a probably look a lot better than I think I do. Being able to see my size and shape objectively might just help me appreciate my body more. It's possible I would be horrified, but it would also mean that I had the form so I could figure out exactly how to hide the flaws, lol.
This type of dress form, is EXACTLY what the historical re-enactors, and cosplayers have been waiting for, and praying for...for decades!
They are pretty cost prohibitive for many of us, unfortunately

@@GiraffeLoverJen It DOES! It makes all clothing sewing for oneself better! You know it will fit you, exactly as it fits your form. I've been doing historical costuming for many decades. It is something I dreamed of having. Incredible blessing!! And having it made with your period foundations...? How fantastic is that? AND ARMS! I do Elizabethan costuming. This thing is incredible for me! So grateful, and I'm getting a new scan made, this year.

I love that you can see that he would play with that spring for about 10 min if he didn't self regulate after that first bounce.
the only issue is my first car was less expensive 😅 hopefully some day stuff like this will be more accessible

Going off the merit badge motif, the entire de-merit badge bundle could be called the “Senior Shop Leader Bundle” ( riffing off of a senior patrol leader title from scouting). Because whoever has earned the de-merit badges has definitely been around the shop a few times!
I'm so excited for you. I've been a dressmaker for 30 years and the dress form falling over is a big problem. That big, heavy base would be a dream.

Every seamstress I've ever known, which is a lot because I used to be one, has had a little freak out moment when they looked at their custom made dress forms. It is very humbling to have your body hyper-analyzed and then made into essentially a headless stuffed animal 😅

Nah, nothings as exciting as watching the Expanse for the third time and finally having an epiphany that Adam Savage is actually a mission specialist on the Arboghast. Being disassembled the protomolecule does limit future appearances somewhat....all hail mission specialist Savage.
Have to admit, I started to chuckle when Adam broke out the rather phallic spring at end of video! Hahaha. ...I almost forgot, (whip out phallus).
Is the outer layer of the form a bit squishy in the way real body mass would be? During the time I spent studying production design, I did learn that it's easier to pad a dress form in order to size it up when your weight fluctuates or the form doesn't have your exact proportions, but you can't really do much to size them down. I go up and down 5 kgs here and there, so I'm curious how would determine a reasonable average in that scenario?
Currently sewing a dressform that I made by tape patterning ( the restickable clingfilm is SO MUCH BETTER than standard clingwrap!) and nothing brings home how weird and lumpy and uneven bodies can be than looking at your own from the outside. it's a trip! (might be worth noting somewhere in the vid that beatrice forms' process requires an iphone. )

I would take off the metal plates that the hands come with and machine new ones (with bosses on the arms or without) that fall in place when the arms are UP and lock in position when they're pointed anywhere but UP. Kinda like how split (multipurpose, screwdriver and can opener) scissors work.
As much as I would enjoy a quality form, I have never stayed at the same size for more than a year in my entire life.

Mr Savage I have a question for you you usually don't answer my comments but could you please answer this one I want to put a 3D helmet together from a 3D printer but I think the pieces some pieces should have a little lip on it like you're going to put magnets on it for it to click together but in a little different way some pieces won't have it to get the outside seem to match perfectly but it has an extra lip on the inside to glue it together to have a stronger bond to each other because it will have a thin strip on the inside of the print is this possible and how would you go about downside of the mass but the inside has those little strips but still fit your head

Tutankhamun's mask is the ideal version of the person in the pharao's coffin well, here is Adam dealing with the reality of his real form.
it's as humbling as making a scan or life cast of your own face it's you!!! but in reality you probably never be really happy with it!
going back to King Tut nobody seems to realize or see that the king's ages from the mask to the outer coffin well, these were probably life casts so the mask was made first at maybe age 13 while the outer coffin was made at age 18 and you see the difference.
I do not want one of those! This is the first video I have watch from you Adam, that I can actually say those words in complete honesty! I have a body for radio. Lol

is the arm connect a magnet or a mechanical connection? Neat tool.
By the way he had to fuss with the left arm when the coat was involved, my guess is mechanical, but done by just hooking it on and letting gravity manage it.
It's a keyhole slotted plate on the torso that the mushroom headed stud on the arm slots into.
The full de-merit page pack should be called the de-monetisation pack.

I slapped a form of myself together with tape stuffed with blankets and pillows. gave me some pretty bad body image feels seeing myself like that.
