I have to say Thank you @NostalgiaUnboxed. Because of your wonderful MAFEX X-Men videos I have gone off and picked them all up myself. Please keep the videos coming!!
Mafex is probably my favorite figure company rn, but honestly, for me, with mafex figures, it has to either blow me away or be a character i can't otherwise get a decent version of. Like with cyclops the hasbro version is a good enough base that with a custom head ill be happy. Ive got the mafex hush superman and batman because there really isnt i good 6 inch version available, and ive got the classic spiderman because i was blown away by it.
I definitely understand that because I went with the marvel legends and mezco cyclops and to be honest I like mezco way better just because of the light up feature plus the screaming head which alot of companies don't do for the character
The x-men they've released so far look spectacular in comparison to a lot of other comic styled figures being released by other companies imo, My hope is that they do a full '97 run as time goes on and more episodes release and continue to bless us with other characters in the x-men universe, I would love for them to do a full character run of x-force for example.
I'd like to think that I was one of the annoying commenters that led to Mr. Unboxed discussing the overseas buying options, but probably not. Great video, as always. And also as always, I think it is quite sad that Mafex has stalled out in terms of progressing this line especially when they are so close to having a pretty much complete team. Only 2-3 characters away!
I commented on the GDL live stream this past Sunday you were on, and said that this wasn't my preferred Cyclops, and you wanted to know what my go to was. I have both, and I like the ML 97 body better. I think the proportions are better (Mafex has those gangly legs, and tiny head) and despite all the articulation it has built in, I feel like the Mafex works against itself and makes posing the thing a real pain. I especially like the strap solution Hasbro came up with as opposed to the floating straps on the Mafex. The Hasbro falls down with the head sculpt. But that's not a problem if you spend the extra money on one from Casting Cave. All told, the ML is still not perfect, but it's the best option for my tastes at the moment.
It’s so refreshing to hear some positive takes on these figures. They’re usually met with so much pessimism upon launch from a bunch of bitter reviewers. They’re excellent figures.
7:42 For real! I've been *_eagerly_* anticipating a Beast and Rogue announcement. After those, bring on Colossus, Professor X, and Iceman...so we can _finally_ recreate X-Men #1! Another one I've been clamoring for is Sabretooth. Even though the recent hasbro one is great, it's just got some big noggins. So even though a Mafex version will be undersized, it'll at least have accurate proportions.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Yeah, that's a very silly one that took the spot of a much needed new character...same with that Cyclops variant. Mafex clearly has a "20 year plan" with completing this Jim Lee line-up.
7:21 as far as i understand it, the visor has a gauge on it, he can make so he lets out a small blast or big one. That's why he touches the visor. OR, maybe there's a preset button or two. Like he thinks, "i have this set for this application, so I'll keep it that way. When the situation calls for it, I'll use just that!" Now if he wants to let loose, if it's an indeterminate amount, he also has a couple triggers in his glove just like Spiderman for his webshooters. So there! Have you ever heard a better explanation?
Thank you for posting the sites to order from 🙏 This is a nice Cyclops and the paint looks even better in person. I feel his torso looks short and his hair is extra "boy scoutish" I like marvel legends better, but I can definitely understand why someone would prefer Mafex. We need a Rogue!
Mafex makes the best version of Marvel's characters, no doubt. I love my retail Hasbro Marvel Legends because they can take years of posing and rough handling. But if you want a hi-end version of any Marvel character, Mafex is the best.

Cant wait for mafex njghtcrawler
That would be great
Its funny how people now appreciate this figure, 2-3 years ago they consider this as the worst cyclops figure
I don't know what there is to complain about
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Most of the complain this figure received are the less articulation caused by the belt and it also makes the figure's upper torso look a little short. Also they argue that the Old ML cyclops has a better/accurate headsculpt.
He has toes behind his toes.
Say what
Nice vid great figure
Thanks
