Friday Night Walk in Downtown Toronto (Narrated) on July 17, 2020 [4K]

- A 4K downtown Toronto Night walk that starts by walking north up Yonge Street Dundas Street. At Dundas Square I turn west and walk along Dundas through Little Tokyo and Chinatown. I then turn south on Spadina Avenue and head past Queen Street and into the entertainment district. From there it's past a number of patios on Adelaide, John and Richmond Street's before finding my way to St Andrew Station. The street's were still quiet thanks to only being on Stage 2 of the coronavirus pandemic but it was still great to see people out and enjoying the city. This was recorded on Friday, July 17 at 8:55 pm. The temperature was 27 degrees Celsius.
0:01 - North on Yonge Street
5:30 - Dundas Square
7:43 - West on Dundas Street West
10:30 - Bay Street (& Dundas - Little Tokyo)
15:15 - University Avenue (& Dundas)
23:21 - Chinatown
27:13 - South on Spadina Avenue
36:16 - East on Adelaide Street West
43:00 - North on John Street
45:10 - East on Richmond Street West
49:46 - South on University Avenue
53:48 - Entering St Andrew Subway Station (TTC)
Recorded with a DJI Osmo Pocket in 4K at 60 FPS.
The last few posts have blown my mind. I live here. Freaky. Nice to see it from a different lens
Thanks Todd, much appreciated and it's always good to see things from a different perspective. I'd love to hear what others who live here to have to say.
First of all, love the site. And the commentaries are awesome. I believe Chinatown did not start down in Spadina area or behind city hall. I believe it was a spill off of the original Chinatown which is Broadview Ave. After a strong influx of Chinese into Broadview they moved to what is now Chinatown. Thank you for also talking about stage 1, 2 and 3 and what to expect. We just have soft encouragements not any lockdowns.
***I am so sad few people are wearing masks.
Keep going for us from Toronto growing up around the time you grew up it is just amazing to see all the changes. Hope you keep exploring Toronto. And your commentary is amazing and thank you for giving a loonie to people down on their luck. Believe it or not the homeless now have donation apps to receive a donation for people like you who want to give a small bit of change in digital form.
We have the same problem with bikes on the sidewalks. But our bike theft is taken more seriously here in Japan.
Oh, the Spadina shuffle song is by the SHUFFLE DEMONS. ruclips.net/video/KZnLjRi_g9o/видео.html
This makes me happy of my walks through Toronto are still full of people.
I might have to put up more of my Toronto with people videos.

LIFE ISNT EASY .... I don't want to force anything on yall but man I've had so many problems and the only true way to come out of them victorious is thru the Lord God Almighty... I know society makes everyone think being religious is for deluded people but please open your eyes it's not.. I plead to yall just say a prayer to God commit all your worries fears, regrets and deepest problems into his hands.. read the bible and keep praying to him in Jesus Name .. I promise you your life will change for the better I promise you
I was pondering on suicide, I wanted to run away from home but I prayed to the Lord God and all of a sudden ..things started moving forward in my life.. I've done so many evil things in my past.. things that i think any other person would kill me for if they were God but God kept me alive and well
I dont want to be seen as the deluded guy in the comment section but I'm literally pouring my heart out
I thought my sins were too bad and that I will never succeed in my dreams.. but I forgot that in John 3:16 it says "For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life"
Believe that Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins to be forgiven and to give us eternal life in heaven
You may think I'm crazy but I'm begging just try this read the bible pray and watch yourself rise to heights you never expected
Dont fall into the tricks of the world I'm begging
I apologise for this being too long
Imma try and send this out to loads of comments sections.. I hope this touched your soul.. if it did please like the message and comment let's make it togetherrr
Thanks

I lived in Toronto for about 11 months a year ago. Although I am in Korea now, I miss this city so much. I miss the Canadians who were kind to me. I especially miss the wood ave hair salon lady who cut my hair and the lady who always paid for me at the mart. I want to go as soon as possible once the Corona virus is gone. I love Canada.
That's great to hear and I can see by your youtube logo you really like the city :) I lived in Korea (Seoul) for 5 years and I absolutely love your country. So be happy that you are still in an amazing place and Toronto will be ready to welcome you back with open arms should you return. Thanks for watching the videos!

You missed the guy that keeps shouting “BELIEVE!” at random people...low key a Toronto icon.
I've featured him in a few videos before and even ran into him in the Eaton Centre food court!
Haha you brought back a memory for me, he used to scare the beejazuz out of me
he reminds me of my student life in Ryerson❤

I played junior hockey outside toronto for two years. It was one of the best cities that I’ve ever been to. The people, the architecture, the arts. Some of my best friends today are from Toronto.
That's amazing, glad you have such fond memories of the city and its people!
Johnny Strides thanks dude ! Great videos
I came for the walk but stayed for the narration, it was informative and interesting. Good job

Toronto was my first place outside Brazil (2004). Always a good memory. Thanks for sharing your walk with us!!
I am a great follower of Sir Johnny Strides and like and amazed of all his videos. I also live here in downtown Toronto.
I love my city. Walking on Yonge street is one of my favourite pastimes.
It truly never gets boring!
The street looks pretty run down.
@@rtgtx Nah It's just the lack of sunlight because of skyscrapers (it's a North-South street). When you get farther North in Midtown, it starts to seem better.
I used to do the same walk when I got bored studying at Ryerson...been missing it since we’ve had to stay indoors. Thanks for posting this up, stay healthy and all the best.
Watched this video for the first time. Taking walks through T.O. is one thing but the narrative is like getting glasses.

🌟Great tour with local guide!💥🍁🌟Thanks for sharing!
Toronto is like a cleaner, more slick looking NYC that downtown could even pass for Times Square, I do know Toronto has been used as a stand in for NYC in many films and TV shows.
indeed it has, it's very common to be watching a movie and spot Toronto in it!
Sorry, but no. Toronto in this video did not look much cleaner than what you typically see in NYC/Manhattan.
Hello pretty lady how are you doing today ♥️
Greetings from the U.K. Great video.
Hi from walking in Russia. Another Great new walking video. I like it, lovely places. Thank u for sharing friend! 👍
Thank you for that. In the late 70s I worked at Dundas & Yonge area. There was a Sears MOB building a block down. A great Buffet place across the street. I danced on weekends at Momma G's on Yonge a few doors down from Hard Rock Cafe. Good times!
this video is so cool! I used to live in Toronto in 2014 and watching this video brings me back so many memories!
Did you edit the footage in post? Is it taken all auto?
New City Hall?! New in 1965! But I get it. Old City Hall is across the street from it. Interesting to see changes since I left Toronto in 2008. Can't believe that beauty supply place is still at Bay and Dundas. Been there forever.
Beautiful and Stunning scenery.💕💕💕

There are many good things about things Toronto. But having lived there for 16 years, I would hardly call it beautiful, although it does have its moments.
It depends which type of beauty you looking for? I Respect comments and feeling .

You're welcome!
Parts of Dundas, reminds me of Times Sq., except with the crowds of ppl. But in the summer of 2020, it probably looked like this. Few ppl walking around. Love the cable cars.
I worked on Bay Street from 1995 till Dec. 2019 and during that time I never saw Yonge Street that empty. Even on nights when I left the office at 1 am the sidewalks would be crowded in the summer. Haven't been downtown since the flu outbreak.
Thanks for your sharing.

Thank you so much for making this video and narrating. I'm so nervous living in America right now. Everything is so tense. Right now I'm in school for nursing and apparently Canada has a program to let American nurses work in Canada, so I would love to live there one day!

I hope you come up here to Canada. We want nurses here for sure. You will love it. My friend recently moved back from the USA after being a nurse in the states for 10 years. She went through a lot and is happy to be back.

Many a great nights around Peter and Adelaide, Fri and Sat night. Great video.
Omg. I didn't expext to see this street again. I had worked in a Ramen restaurant on Dundas W for 8 months in 2013 Jan~Aug. It was your left side. Thanks to my super kind boss, teammates and Toronto Citizen, I was so happy and enjoyed Toronto life. Most of people who I met on street and store had tried to help my demands kindly. Hope to walk Dundas W again. Thank you for watching this video.

Greeting. I am from Croatia and I really like Canada. I would love to live and work in Canada, and especially in Toronto. I hope that my dream will come true soon.
Are you Is a women?
Better stay in Croatia. You guys have great weather and a simple way of life. Come to Canada is you want processed and imported foods, come to Canada where you and your husband will have to work full-time if you want to have a comfortable life. For a visit, okay, but meet and talk with the Croatians, Serbians, Polaks, or Albanians who know a thing-or-two about these lands.
Jeboti!!! This is not a place to be for long. We do have chevapi
@@sm3675 Actually a good point, if you want to live in a house. If you are okay with living in a condo or apartment, you will be fine.
Canada is great to visit but from my experience living here and in Toronto it is very expensive to live, work a lot of hours, very long and cold winters about 8-10 months of the year is cold and gets very boring after a couple of weeks.
