I love Toronto as much as I love NYC. A lot. It’s a real city filled with fun. First time visiting in the 1960s! I love the people there and the energy.
Even though Toronto is nice and worth exploring, it’s just not in the same league as NYC. Few cities can compete with NYC really, and the urban landscape is much more dense and impressive I believe
Jim Bobson If you look at numbers, you see they are not. NYC is not only larger and more populated, it’s also the financial capital of the world, and its economy is larger than the entire provinces of Ontario and Quebec put together (the 2 richest provinces in Canada). NYC is home to Wall Street and the United Nations headquarters, and is probably the most famous city in North America (and globally maybe). It’s full of world famous landmarks: Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Central Park etc Toronto is a nice city of course, and a good place to live, and it could compete with cities close to its size and relevance, but it’s not NYC or London or Paris or Tokyo. Objectively speaking.
Jim Bobson GDP means how much money a city produces, and how powerful economically it is. NYC’s economy is absolutely massive and smashes any other city in the world except for Tokyo (which has almost 40million people). If you want to “compare” major cities, the economy is one of the main elements to consider. NYC is not only much much richer than Toronto (and half of Canada, for that matter), but it’s also more powerful politically, financially, and culturally. NYC houses the UN, arguably the most famous theatre district in the world, and some of the most prestigious museums and institutions (eg Julliard) on the planet. Toronto has been getting skyscrapers for a few years now, while New York created the modern skyscraper (along with Chicago), and boasts a much varied architecture as these skyscrapers evolved.. today the city has the highest concentration of them in the world (after Hong Kong), far more than Toronto. Sorry, but I could go on for days... Toronto is a cool city, it’s modern and livable and has grown a lot, but you’re comparing it with one of the world’s greatest and most influential cities, which was one the most populated place on the planet as well as the largest gateway for immigration in the Americas. Toronto is a Canada’s largest city, NYC is one of the capitals of the world.
Jim Bobson So I just checked and, as of 2018, Seoul metro area has a GDP of 894 (4th richest city in the world) and Chicago has 689 (6th richest city in the world), so not sure why you bring that up. Toronto is the 28th richest. You also seem to imply that Chicago is a not a big or important city. I’d have to remind you that Chicago has the headquarters of several of the 500 largest global companies, including: Boeing, Krafts, McDonalds, Sears, United Airlines, Walgreens, Heinz etc. It also has O’Hare Airport (the 5th/6th with most passenger traffic on the planet, and the second airport with the most international connections after London’s Heathrow). Not to mention that it has one of the largest concentration of skyscrapers (far more than Toronto), and has one of the most stunning architecture in North America. Despite its population being in decline, Chicago still comes ahead of Toronto on most aspects... But I do agree that Toronto should be compared with Chicago, it’s much more fitting. NYC is a whole different level
Jim Bobson Also, sorry but I just checked the 2019 ranking, and NYC is the richest city on the planet now 😂 (having surpassed Tokyo, which has TWENTY MILLION people more than NYC). That’s how absurdly rich New York is....
as someone who pays close attention to the buildings on the way... just you wait you ain't seen nothing yet. there's so many big projects coming that in about 10-15 years the city is going to look different even compared to today.
@Free Biafra from Occuption I'm in the middle of the province. In Cobourg actually. Which is a town of about 18,500 people, maybe more with all of the subdivisions that are are going up.
@Free Biafra from Occuption Oui, je parle francais. But I'm a little bit out of practice. I did recall some of the french that I learned in school when I was in Montreal heading for Nova Scotia a few years ago.
Toronto is a diverse and cosmopolitan city. It is such a wonderful place to be, although it seems to be a quiet and peaceful city. Without much media news coverage, I must say that, despite its tranquillity, Canada is a country that has a good infrastructure and land where it is very exciting to go and see other places within Toronto. About 12 years ago, I got the opportunity to go Canada. However, I missed the chance to go to Niagara falls and Toronto as a city itself. If I were to go back to Canada again, I will definitely go and see the city. But the only thing is that I would not want to live there as, being a beautiful country as it is, the travelling to get to other places must be one hell of a ride and not local like living in the United Kingdom. To cut the story short, Canada, I ❤ U!
@@mattcordero8612 I'm aware of that. But, to me, it is quite a tranquil country with regards to news media coverage. We do not hear much about Canada and what it gets up to LOL.

Toronto, the capital of the province of Ontario, is a major Canadian city along Lake Ontario’s northwestern shore. It's a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic, free-standing CN Tower. Toronto also has many green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen’s Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo.

Toronto sure has changed in the last 50 years! Someone recently told me it is now the 4th largest city in North America, only surpassed by Mexico City, New York City and Los Angeles. The only thing I knew 50 years ago were names like David Crombie and John Sewell, and their like who yelled and screamed at each other over the air waves about which direction the city should go ... and go Toronto did! And all I wanted was for the LEAFS to win again. Go figure eh!!!
It's a funny thing that you say that because I pondered your comment for a moment and recall that of all the times I had visited New York City and enjoyed my brief times there, when I resigned my commission from the USN, I came directly back to Toronto and never gave settling in the U.S. any thought.
You're so right Kevin, the Canadian Rockies are amazing and so are the ones in the U.S. ... majestic, majestic, majestic! Warrington! That's right on the River Mersey I believe. That is such a beautiful part of England ... the lake country ... or that may be a little further north. Good fishing there. I immigrated to Canada when I was just a young boy. I was actually born in Ashurst Wood school which had been converted into a hospital during the war and my mother was a nurse there. I'm sure you know from your history that school masters joined all the branches of the military during WW2 so for about 5 years British school children had no educating influence except for family and guardians. Ashurst Wood is south-east of East Grinstead along Lewes Road/A22 and we shared the house at the corner of Lewes Road and Park Lane (which is still standing as of my last visit in 2014 -- it's a large ancient building) until we moved here to Canada. We brought numerous pictures of ourselves with us taken on that property at Lewes Road and Park Lane. There is a large open grassy field at the very back of the house interspersed by several very large trees (4 to 5 feet diameter). A few of those pictures are of a very large (the thing was huge, I'm not exaggerating) German bomb that did not explode but landed in one of the trees and split the trunk down the middle. Incredible! It was in black and white but a photographer was able to bring out the color in the negative and enlarge it. It's an amazing picture. I don't know if Ashurst Wood was considered a part of East Grinstead during WW2 but the locals consider it so these days that I'm aware of and my birth certificate says East Grinstead on it ... nothing about Ashurst Wood. Good sharing with you Kevin. If I had your email I'd chat more but on this platform I think I've said too much to other ears already. Small world though, small world.

Can you record Windsor? Im from Mexico and my cousin is living in Windsor years ago, i would like to see how is it...
There is nothing to see in Windsor.
I can tell you a lot, if I have a chance or ask your cousin. few words here: The beauty of river side and lakes, city is not as vibrant, not as busy, but very peaceful, quite safe. very clean....great inter-city highways and streets, out skirt counties and farms are just wonderful, and the nice people. 4.5 hours drive from Toronto, non-stop.
Yeah that's it!
What type of camera do you use?
Canada my dream. With love from Russia.
