Same. Logically I don't know how the grease will make the hair grow. I would expect it to clog the pores if applied to the scalp. Might grow faster without the scalp greas.

Topical products can’t change the rate your hair grows. All you have to do is retain what grows. The grease or oil may help you keep the hair in good condition so that it stays moisturized and doesn’t break off, but it does not make the hair grow any faster.

Minus the fenugreek I boiled cloves and rosemary. Drained it let it cool off added a small amount of peppermint oil and poured in a spray bottle. Might comb my hair once every 2 weeks . It works my hair was thinning in the front and top with ball spots. When I did comb my hair I'd wear a up ponytail and would have to use hair fibers to cover the thinning. At first I had to use a lot of fibers to cover the thinning now after using this mixture I'm using less and less fibers, my hair is filling in and getting thicker. It's a process it's been about 8 months but I see the difference and I'm a witness that this works. Looking forward to the day I no longer need to use fibers.
I’m natural and went back to the basics because the natural products on the market leave my hair and scalp dry. Blue Magic, water, and I use the different oils too. That’s it!!!
I would suggest lining the bowl with a gallon freezer bag and then once everything is mixed, zip it closed and then clip one bottom corner and pipe the product in the smaller jars😊
Great tip to note: when mixing the different products, it is better to warm the bowl up by placing in hot water to melt to a liquid. Do NOT microwave. This way, it keeps the mess down and easy to pour in the container. You can cool in the refrigerator for 10 minutes, then you're all set.
This exactly how I mix my greases that I sell. Hot water in a double bowl…otherwise I wouldn’t be able to use my arm the rest of the day after packaging 😂😂😂
Lucille Griffin yasss back in the day honey your hair wasn't hitting on nothing if momma didn't straighten your hair with that ROYAL CROWN 👑 that was a staple in my household when I was growing up I was shocked to see they still make it.
As a child my mom did the same thing and she used the grease in the red can and mixed it with glover mane and some other stuff. My hair as a child was down my back. This was in the 70s.
I mean...she was younger and a baby. Of course her hair is short. Girl..stop. lol most of those products clogs the pores so I'm just going to assume keeping it hydrated and in protective styles helped it which is pretty standard for our hair. There is no secret here.
I’m happy for her that she’s found a routine that works for her (for real, no hate ❤), but judging by the pictures she chose for this video, I have to agree with you on this 🤔 Their curly hair two years ago just looked shrunken to me, not necessarily short (for their age). If she had showed that same hair straightened and compared it to their straightened hair two years later, I wouldn’t be surprised by the difference in length. 2.5 years is a long time for hair to grow and be retained, with or without this mixture of grease and oils, especially considering kids’ hair is usually kept tucked away in protective styles anyway. My only issue is that the hair community keeps saying “growth” when we really mean “length retention.” These two words are not synonymous. Hair product companies and advertisers are guilty of this too.
Around 50 my crown started thinning in a terrible way. I had locs and the crown suffered. After using lots of products and spending lots of money, it only got worst. Dear mom, you don’t have to make a baby’s hair grow. It’s part of being a baby to start out with short hair and it grows as the hair follicle grow and mature. No baby is born with hair down to their waist.
I've started back using bergamot infused old fashioned hair grease on my natural hair, and my hair has been like, "THANK YOU!". It helps retain moisture the best for my 4b-4c type hair. Thank you for sharing this. I'll have to try! 😊😍

Please don't. Choose just the sulfur 8, the medicated one. That will stimulate your follicles. All of the grease in the product is unnecessary and too much and will be doing more clogging then growing.
Too much pressure to have a certain aesthetic...saddens me to start this so young. Stop all the fuss on growth and just make sure its healthy and keep it pushin
My daughter was almost bald until the age of 2. She's now 14, and her hair comes to her hips, all natural. I've only ever used shampoo, leave in conditioner, and a light oil for her scalp. My daughter hair was the same ddnt grow for her first 3yrs n I ddnt stress cuz she was a child. I fed her well. Basic hair regimen n now her hair is down her back. Let kids be kids. Not experiments.
Hair grows good health and healthy eating is how you grow hair your concoctions help retain length which is what you are doing with your daughters hair I just thought I'd put that's correction out there for anyone who maybe ignorant of that fact
Sulfur 8 has always been my favorite grease, I mix mines with Virgin Hair fertilizer and an Ayurvedic oil. It works so good. Your daughter is beautiful!
I mixed Blue magic, Doo gro, hair fertilizer and wild growth oil and it grew my 11 yr old daughter's hair. I had her take her box braids out one day while I was at work last year and she snatched a couple of them out on the side and she was almost bald 😢 so I started mixing the grease and oils and it grew it back.
I agree! - here is our ingredient mix 1 medium container blue magic 1 Royal crown (YES!!), 1 tube Virgin hair fertilizer 1 sunny Isles Jamaican BLACK castor OIL, 4OZ SUNNY Isle Jamaican black castor oil EXTRA DARK Hair food pomade
Chile… hair grows from the inside out. My granddaughter hair was like this and and by age three it’s grown past her shoulders. No special products. It’s DNA. This baby has beautiful hair. ❤
@@feliciamonae101 Facts! I was pretty much bald til I was 3! My mom got my ears pierced at 18 months and always put bow headbands on me. Everyone still thought I was a boy!!!! Fast forward, by 5-6 years old, I looked like Chaka khan!!!!!!!
Some people on here trying to tell this women what to do are should have did it this way and that way. I say know because everything she mixed together took her precious time end up working just fine on her girls. They hair grew out long it's nothing nobody can tell this woman I say great job .
Petroleum isn’t good for the hair so the blue magic is a bad choice. Also their hair was a good length for their age and being that it’s natural it has shrinkage. That’s why when they got a little older and you straighten it out it was longer
Blue magic was never a bad choice. Many heads thrived on blue magic alone back in the day. Most of us had long , thick hair as children and all our mamas and grandmamas used was grease.
The Chad women use hair grease and their hair is bum length. All these new fads are just to make us spend more money. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken. As yourself why men are able to grow their hair keeping it simple and women use all the products and we can’t get past chin length?
Her hair didn't look short to me. But you know what you are saying because she's your beautiful daughter. Everything you put together I see that you knew what you was doing!! Because it did make her hair grow. Thumbs up to you 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
It will really help with dryness. If it’s dry it will break off. Hair oils and greases work just don’t put too much or it weighs down your hair. A little goes a long way
For me the Hawaiian silky jheri curl spray products, sulfur 8, pinetar grease and beeswax to thicken. I like that we are admitting that no 1 product is the life saver that does it all and that mixing for personal needs should be normal.
@Taylor sara I meant to thicken the muxture. It coats the hair so that moisture isn't lost which helps retain lengths and it makes so your hair won't break off from friction with hats, seats, weaves etc.
Yup my mom used Sulfur 8, Blue Magic, Crown Royal which smells sooooo good. My hair was well taken care of until I started doing other ppl concoctions from RUclips. So now I’m gaining more wisdom from God for just my hair because everyone is different. I thank you for posting cause I forgot about crown Royal and your babies hair is well maintained and beautiful. Keep going mama ❤
her hair texture is key here. Her hair grows and it has the ability to grow fast and long. I know there are ingredients in those products you use that are not good for your hair/scalp. having a routine moisturizing her hair and styling it is what makes the difference. I also massage my scalp like all the time with or without oil, i trim only when necessary, clarifying and deep conditionning is great too, but a good protective style is what every natural hair sisters need to grow long beautiful real 4C fabulous hair.
I mix Doo Gro Super Strength hair grease, Black Caster Oil, Sufer8, Jo Jo ba oil, almond oil, wild Growth Oil, wild Growth super thick oil. Mix them up and use on wash day and 3 times a week. Along with deep conditioning 2 times a mouth. Sleep in satin bonnet.
I am embarassed to say that I only use vaseline and it grows long, very long and healthy. I can only imagine what would happen if I used all these products
I agree. Plus her genetics 🧬. Mommy has long beautiful hair and her daughter curls are so beautiful I don't think she needed any of that grease for it to grow. I can contests to that. My daughter who has 4C hair with 75% shrinkage has long hair as well and I've never used grease on her hair only wash and deep condition 1x a week and my child was bald bald until like 2 and bamb by 3 she was midback length lol.
Black hair is not all the same as we know. What works for some doesn’t work for all. Keeping the hair free of harmful chemicals is a must. Thoroughly washing the hair and consistently is next. Keeping the hair well hydrated is next. If I’m wearing braids I can use the oils. If silk pressed I have to use hair grease and just a little because the hair will become heavy. In summer we do braids 2-3 months. Winter silk pressed. Clip if it becomes unmanageable. My daughters hair is to her waist. I’m 70 and my hair is still growing and healthy and touches the top of my bra strap. We don’t do weaves. No need to. Braids is enough. Works for us and hopefully it can help someone else. 🥰❣️💯
Yes, Crown Royal. That's what Mama used on our (8 girls) hair back in the day. We all had long, beautiful, shiny hair. No perms or chemicals. Thank you mama RIP.
My daughter already has so much hair.....butttt im do this, definitely worth spending the money on products that will last instead of buying products that cost so much money . 50 bucks would've gotten you 2 products if that ....thanks girl

Girl her hair was never short that baby naturally has good hair
My daughter hair was the same ddnt grow for her first 3yrs n I ddnt stress cuz she was a child. I fed her well. Basic hair regimen n now her hair is down her back. Let kids be kids. Not experiments.
Hair grows good health and healthy eating is how you grow hair your concoctions help retain length which is what you are doing with your daughters hair I just thought I'd put that's correction out there for anyone who maybe ignorant of that fact
You have some beautiful daughters, sis .god bless 😊
Sulfur 8 has always been my favorite grease, I mix mines with Virgin Hair fertilizer and an Ayurvedic oil. It works so good. Your daughter is beautiful!
Don’t many of these ‘cheap’ oils have many harmful dyes and additives. I like using oils with only the oil as the ingredient.
Ultra Sheen (blue)is also good old school that can be used if you can find the blue magic
And what's wrong with short hair for the little girl?
I'm positive her hair smells GREAT!
I agree! - here is our ingredient mix
1 medium container blue magic
1 Royal crown (YES!!),
1 tube Virgin hair fertilizer
1 sunny Isles Jamaican BLACK castor OIL, 4OZ SUNNY Isle Jamaican black castor oil EXTRA DARK Hair food pomade
I definitely need to take better care of my hair
I'm with you! I've been neglectful for sure 😔
Once I seen the old school grease, I knew it was a win!
That Blue Magic and Crown Royal can surely grow some hair
Come on old school!!!!!! I love it!
❤❤❤❤
Some people on here trying to tell this women what to do are should have did it this way and that way. I say know because everything she mixed together took her precious time end up working just fine on her girls. They hair grew out long it's nothing nobody can tell this woman I say great job .
♥️
Petroleum isn’t good for the hair so the blue magic is a bad choice. Also their hair was a good length for their age and being that it’s natural it has shrinkage. That’s why when they got a little older and you straighten it out it was longer
Blue magic was never a bad choice.
Many heads thrived on blue magic alone back in the day.
Most of us had long , thick hair as children and all our mamas and grandmamas used was grease.
Absolutely wrong! Hair grease, including petroleum is great for our hair and scalp.
Ppl have said this but it works. Lye not good to wash body with but its good 😂😂
The Chad women use hair grease and their hair is bum length. All these new fads are just to make us spend more money. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken. As yourself why men are able to grow their hair keeping it simple and women use all the products and we can’t get past chin length?
@@nikkib5674ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. Blue Magic is & STILL a staple MUST ... even NOW for my granddaughter!
Her hair didn't look short to me. But you know what you are saying because she's your beautiful daughter. Everything you put together I see that you knew what you was doing!! Because it did make her hair grow. Thumbs up to you 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I've been seriously contemplating on cutting all of my hair off. It's dry and brittle and rough. I think I'll try this for my hair.
It will really help with dryness. If it’s dry it will break off. Hair oils and greases work just don’t put too much or it weighs down your hair. A little goes a long way
@@solutionswithsonya2330 thank you!
Me to I was just thinking last night I want to do the big chop because my hair is the same like yours, dry, rough and brittled.😢
Are you deficient in any vitamins or battling inflammation? Get a blood test from your doctor
@@ziolp that’s it!!! Also, monitor stress levels!
How wonderful all the hair products I used as a kid and it’s still very resourceful ❤
For me the Hawaiian silky jheri curl spray products, sulfur 8, pinetar grease and beeswax to thicken. I like that we are admitting that no 1 product is the life saver that does it all and that mixing for personal needs should be normal.
Sapphire does beeswax thicken hair???
♥️♥️♥️
Royal Crown, Blue Magic old school ... Grandma used these on my hair also Dixie Peach.
Not the Dixie Peach I haven't heard that name in years
Where do you find Dixie Peach? I haven’t seen that in stores.
I used to eat dixie peach when I was very small
My mom used to make hair grease. I normally mix oils for us. My daughters hair is long thick and strong. She has broken several combs..
If I may ask....what oils do you mix?
her hair texture is key here.
The blue magic seems like it's not the same anymore too me! The ultra sheen blue is good too, if u can find it! I oil my scalp with both!
Thank you for sharing !!!! I enjoy watching you help me thank you so much 🙏.
Great idea . Do you have wash day routines too?
Great Tip.. my daughter hair is down her back..too. I always use 3 items. a Pudding and Oil and regular Hair Grease ..wash Once a Week
Please be more specific❤
They are sooooo adorable 🥰😘❤️ Beautiful hair
I mix Doo Gro Super Strength hair grease, Black Caster Oil, Sufer8, Jo Jo ba oil, almond oil, wild Growth Oil, wild Growth super thick oil. Mix them up and use on wash day and 3 times a week. Along with deep conditioning 2 times a mouth. Sleep in satin bonnet.
I am embarassed to say that I only use vaseline and it grows long, very long and healthy. I can only imagine what would happen if I used all these products
Keep doing what works for you ❤️
Glad you said that!! Vaseline was all my mom used on my fine hair, scalp dry most of the time. Crown Royal for the press.!
I use Isoplus & grease my scalp frequently & take biotin. Most of the hair greases have the same or similar ingredients.
Can you write the list out of the products it goes kind of fast.
Royal crown is old school. My mother used that on our hair in the 60's. It's still fabulous.
I may add the crown royal to my routine... The ol skool is ol reliable 😊
So, you're going to get tipsy before doing hair?🤭
@@cocolamo6626 welp.. I might come up with a better style idea
@@cocolamo6626 Calling it Crown Royal must be a younger generation thing. 😂😂
@@valbarnes4020 I don't think she know she called it crown Royal lol
That stance in the grey shirt and white shorts... She's a sassy little thing. Love this video. Beautiful hair journey, beautiful girls, smart mom.
Well they were babies or toddlers, most babies that age have short hair until it grows. It would have grown.
Waaayyy cheaper if u buy the dry herbs & caffeine powder. Bulk shea butter and coconut oil. Infuse minerals into coconut oil then mix into shea
Royal Crown was in everybody's household back in the 80's and 90's. My father used it back in the day.
Can you explain how you use them? Like when and how many times a week?
Once a week on their scalp
Yes, Crown Royal. That's what Mama used on our (8 girls) hair back in the day. We all had long, beautiful, shiny hair. No perms or chemicals. Thank you mama RIP.
Crown Royal is the truth!❤
Right!!!
Crown Royal and a hotcomb every holiday, especially Easter's. Mom would hook us up. 😂❤
@@nrramos9280 exactly!!!
Thank you, really needed this❤
My daughter already has so much hair.....butttt im do this, definitely worth spending the money on products that will last instead of buying products that cost so much money . 50 bucks would've gotten you 2 products if that ....thanks girl
Right!! Your so right
Start with Crown and Blue magic. Indian hemp also
This is just great proud of you queen! Do what works for you and your babies God bless
That castor oil I would also say is a staple x
The caster oil alone would have worked to grow the hair by itself.
Thank you much for sharing this came in my feed. I have been looking for moisturizer/ growth oil mix for my kids this try this.
Black women will one day realize that babies don't have long hair.
Really? Cuz oldest as a toddler did, as did I, down our backs! Some of us do, because of genetics!
@@mizzpoetrics most babies don’t have long hair lol
Not true. Some are born with long/full hair. Esp in my family and we are BLACK
I sure wish I could post my 2 yo granddaughter hair which is waist length
@@MyGodsHouse Exactly and lm black all the women and girls have long hair
Trick to it my mom told me tears is exactly where is the hair.. you get a smaller less manipulation and out and.. Less tension pererve.. People are teaching stretching from ending adfmid and end shaft bother have their benefit. So yes and no depends what works for your hair which starts at home. The as you grow I it try things get info as well .. Hair is very much contained by touch and knowing how it should feel.. texture regular even with do all the .. important to know how it should feel..
Thank you for sharing
I need to try it on my grown head 😂😂
You should!
works wonders I've use it back in the day
Your family is so Beautiful!!! You, your hubby and daughters have fine well hydrated healthy hair and looks easy to grow and manage!!! You could have concocted anything really and your results would be the same!!!Water is actually the best hydration for hair and little oil is needed after that!!! God Bless you!!!
Is that old school TupperWare? I thrifting to try and find some.
