i think it's so moving cause we heard this song when we were truly told what we were stacked against, the mad scientist with power unimaginable, to face it may mean death... so we were given a choice...
Flee the island with Sue's brother and at least escape with the burden of abandoning friends in what seemed like impossible odds.
or
Continue Risking your life not just for the creatures of the island but to end a cycle of madness once and for all.
We could either run from the world, or face it... and many choose to face it regardless of the odds.

A song of two meanings. On one side, you decide to leave the floating island, and don't save the Mimiga, meaning that the Doctor will use the red flowers and take control of the surface. A tough decision to make; on the other side, you decide to face the Doctor and destroy the core, saving the surface, but destroying the island. Where did all the Mimiga went with the destruction of the island? Did they died? You wouldn't know, you just did what you think was the right thing to do.
