I have a tinted DM Blurring balm I think shade 2. I just use it on my T zone and spread it towards outer perimeter of my face and do pin point concealing where is needed😄
Edit: I find it blending better with fingertips!

Please point us to what the actual difference is in the new Loreal true match serum versus their normal? I mean, from the ingredients it looks like the same thing but gosh the colour ranges are disappointing in the serum 😔 your recommendation of true match has been a game changer for me (undertone pink) so thank you ❤

i use the tinted blurring balm on the outside of my face and blend inwards with a kabuki brush. i scoop the product out with the spoon and swipe it directly on my face. however i do use a skin tint beforehand, and i just like the extra coverage it gives. i definitely don’t apply it directly by my oily nose though 😂 plus i recently went back to the translucent shade to prime my t-zone funnily enough. i use my fingers and dab it in

Have you tried using less, warming it in your fingers and then applying with hands? Try applying it more like a blurring primer than a foundation; push it into the skin as opposed to brushing it on. It's not really a foundation imo

To make the balm foundation work on my skin I squish my beauty sponge into the product and pick a small amount up and then pat into the skin. For extra coverage I’ll spot conceal over top of that.
I find that you cannot build multiple layers of it otherwise you’ll look both dry and greasy at the same time. Very finicky overall but man it controls my oils.

I bought mine about two weeks ago. I’ve been using a foundation buffing brush. It definitely looks better when you tap the brush into the product and then apply it to the face and tap/buff it in. I’ll have to try the sponge method next.

If your eyelids are irritated you may have blepharitis. In the US we have an eyelid/lash cleanser called Occusoft. The UK may have a different product but this one is very good - doctor recommended. The sterile pads will help heal your eyelid and are great for the lashes too. If you can, stop the eye makeup until it’s cleared up. We’ll watch any content you put out, it doesn’t have to focus on eyes. Feel better.

i use the balm powder not so much as a foundation but rather a finisher.. like, i conceal, use liquid blush, apply skin tint, and then go in with the balm on the outside of my face with the kabuki brush to make everything blend even more seamlessly. it is finicky and i don’t use a lot. also i only powder my t-zone so there’s not as much texture laying on top of the product. hope this helps, and given how fickle the product is, some days it won’t work with my skin if there are dry patches

I figured out what the cookie tin eyeshadows reminded me of: Necco Wafers -- also dry and dusty and about the same size.
Interesting how you don't like the blurring balm. I have hellaciously dry skin but sweat enough to fill a pool in summer, so I use it in summer on well prepped skin and love it. You use a heck of a layer there though. I make it a light layer with synthetic kabuki and buff, then a dust of powder on my redder areas. Maybe if you treat it more like a primer?

I gave it many chances and watched so many videos on ways to apply it, I tried several different products and ways to prep my skin in advance and NOPE. I have tried the Catrice True Skin foundation a bunch of times. First it wasn't the right shade, and also looked dry and showed every nook and cranny on my skin. I tried adding a hydrating primer....didn't help. Mixed in the elf halo glow primer/base product. Still a bit dry texture, still not a great shade match. Mixed in a bit of physicians formula liquid bronzer, helped the shade, helped the dryness but it was still heavy. Ugh. I wanted so badly for it to work!

I just recently found your channel. In fact, it’s today and now im trying to binge on all your videos. However, I do have a question. When you give us the prices of products, will you please mention the cost in dollars as well as pounds? I’m American and I don’t know how to convert pounds to dollars. You would think at my age I would know how to convert, but alas I do not. So please……. I’m an RN, CANP and I deal strictly in English.

This looks( the cookie tin) like something my grandma would've given me to play with when i was 10. She kind of viewed makeup like watercolor paint..lol adorable creative grandma❤ i miss you🥰 to be fair she was a pretty good oil paint artist. I still have some of her art, and furniture my grandpa made and she painted. Ah hell now i miss em both😂❤

Robert, I use the DM Blurring Balm as a primer & apply with fingers only. I apply it to my oily areas as it will absorb excess oils. I also apply it to my redness & it takes down the red, meaning I don’t need as much foundation. The best technique I’ve found is to push it into your skin with your fingers & always follow with foundation. Hope that helps.

I appreciate that you've given these products a second go! For the DM foundation, maybe try using less and building it? Keep us updated with your efforts to make it work, please! I'm curious 🍿😆

OH I had countless of palettes not working for me until I found out my problem. Everything needs to be muted for me, despite me liking bright/colors that pack a punch. I can't use warm shades on their own because they get too warm really fast. Cool shades can get too harsh when too pigmented. So whenever I do have a product that is too harsh, I try to either warm it up or cool it down with other shades in the palette to create a bit more of a muted/neutrally ground. Took a while for me to figure out you can do that LOL. LIKE A LONG WHILE D:

I have a hard time with the scent of the DM Balm as well (and her other foundations). I had it in my pro kit and my clients were not fans either and I had to take it out.
The way I’ve been able to use the balm (the CLEAR only) has been in the TINIEST amount and only in the T Zone as a primer or on no makeup days for a bit of oil control. I’ve tried so many different skin prep methods and just haven’t been able to make it work to my liking (given all the effort required). So sad!!!

I like Yummy Balm Powder (universal) best as a primer under cream foundations. Otherwise, I’ll use the tinted version on no-makeup makeup days to even out my complexion and keep oils at bay. Setting spray and loose powder are incorporated for both applications as well.

My issue with the DM foundation was that it kinda flaked or had like a crumbling thing going on. I have oily and have never had that happen before. To be fair im not sure i use the best brushes so maybe that was it.

A little disappointed in the cookie tin palette! Don't love the way they designed the layout of the pans. IMO, it looks like someone threw up a bunch of shapes into it. I wish they'd run with the cookie concept and dished out a little more product, too. Thanks for your fun reviews, Robert; I'm new to makeup and loving your channel 🥰

I use Merit's Freat Skin under tbr Danessa Myricks. Im oily, but like some shine. Ti looks great, but will end up being a little too matte and will bring out some texture on my nose. I still like it, though, as I've stopped wearing foundation proper.

The foundation could work with a blurring primer, or powdering first, but also I am a fan of products that don’t need any extra steps to work.

I purchase the conceler and loose powder from Jeffree Star (before the whole you know what went down). I was really excited about the concealer because I have really pale skin so I thought it would be great. The shade was great but it was stinging on my skin. And I couldn't get the powder to work either no matter what I did and the cotton candy scent was just too much. I also tried the putty primer from E.L.F and couldn't get it to work either. My makeup broke down so fast.

I have the DM balm foundation and have oily skin, and I cannot get it to work. I rarely see texture with my other liquid foundations (hourglass, coverfx, pur). I never have dry looking skin due to my extremely oily but the DM balm foundation always leaves my skin looking dry and heavy no matter the application technique, how much or little I use or if I powder or not. I have tried using it as concealer or even an eye primer to at least get some use and I'm out of options now 😕

Hi Robert!! Any chance you could do a reaction video on the beauty influencers you have previously? 👀 I re-watched some of your older ones again and thought about how entertaining it would be if you reacted to their updated beauty routines, seeing how much has changed in 3 years. For "educational purposes" of course 😂❤

I had recommended to me the Terry colourless powder to set my aging undereye... Very expensive and whenever I use it it seems to show my fine lines even more. Now using Luna Beauty's powder which does the trick. Even an Innoxa powder I got from the chemist was better!

I really like the packaging but the inside looks very cheap. Why do difficult colours in a pallet, they should just go with colours and simmers they can formulate.

I use the DM balm powder with my fingers. I rub a very thin layer in like I would a primer or a moisturizer and then I use whatever foundation I want over the top. I typically use fenty eaze drops and it's a match made in heaven. The DM does the job of a primer and coverage booster for me, but I have used it alone for very light makeup days.

When I've seen ppl rave about the DM balm, its as a primer under other foundations, skin tints etc. Not so much as a foundation itself. So if I bought it for myself thats what id use it for and probably in the summer when my oil production gets really disrespectful. 😂

The cookie pallet is just so gimmicky to me. I love those kind of cookies tho. haha I have very dry mature skin and would never try something that is matte but a lot of people do like that DM line. I have never tried any myself. That concealer is actually my favorite one. I just bought the foundation but haven't tried it yet. One thing I can't get to meet my expectations are those P. Louise cream blushes in the tubes with the sponge applicator. I have tried several shades and I just can't make them work for me. I am very pale too. I see influencers all the time praising those things.

I really appreciate you trying the eyeshadow palette again. I also left a comment under the original video, explaining I find the title rather dramatic and unjustified. Now its clearer what your problem with it is. Probably the shape and lacking practicality of it. It appears the formula is still perfectly fine but the packaging is a now understandable complaint.

Please try the Jaclyn Hill line if you can have people donate them to you or something… because they are not worth buying or supporting her, imo. But the Luxe Luxury palette (green tones) look so pretty, but the shadows are below even $3 palettes we can get. The concealer is so dry and dries down to quickly becoming cement (and I lost my receipt so) I had to use as an eye shadow primer. The translucent pressed powder is no different than a pressed powder I would find at the Dollar stores and I am not being rude or exaggerating any of this. I would love to see you get her brand and do a brand review so you can give us your feedback and maybe help us to put these products into use whereas as of now they just take up space for so many of us and we don’t know what to even do with them or if they should be tossed.
