Thank you so much everyone for your kind words! 🖤🖤🖤
You forgot to put AD on the title Robert 😭
Thank you for your content, I appreciate that your sponsored content is a lot more than a '23 infomercial, like so many influencers. I can't afford merit, and it's nice that the products can be highlighted without making the video useless for non-shoppers. I love that I can use your tips with the collection I own. Also, your old tip to lay down a good blendable base of a powder eyeshadow under tricksy formulas. I panned an iconic London shade in a few months, found that Maybelline's mono shade linen is ideal for this (& not much else lol) & blends like a high end one, minus the pigment. Trust me to find the cheapest way to apply your advice (& I had a coupon, so the shadow was $.90!!!)
You look beautiful, Robert! I love every tip you've chosen to show us today. Thank you 💜🖤💜🖤
Robert's slow fashion transition into soft trad goth is absolutely delightful and I am here for it
our fav supreme
13:24 THAT's a rare reaction from Robert. THAT's when you know he's impressed. Pro MUA hacks hits different!
17:15 the little whhhhooo noise!
Honestly an awesome highlight tip but I have to admit with the least shade possible, I had to go back and rewatch because I found myself SO DISTRACTED (and confused?) by the three bumps on her forehead above her brows... are those like, fresh botox injection sites? I'm so clueless but dang.
When u see the big grin and that little chuckle! You know its good lol
@@jordandubini have no idea who you’re talking about but clearly you need to be retaught what kindergarteners are taught; if what you’re about to comment on cannot be fixed in five seconds, don’t comment on it. instead i would try…
minding your own business! 🤎
@@hadesisbaby fixed in five seconds? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard, and I hope you don't let kindergartners comment on yt vids 😂 fixed in five secs lmao
So crazy how all the tips from MUAs are useful, pretty and applicable to a lot of people. No gimmicky hacks or clickbait, just pure love of the art of makeup!
adore that smoky eye hack. i hardly ever do smoky eyes because i’m lazy but that’s easy as can be.
It’s so quick too!
Spencer is fabulous
I love that collar, but I'd be a masochist to wear it with makeup. Not sure how Robert does it, but I'm fairly certain it involves witchcraft.
maybe his beard shields it? i would also not tbh 😂
@@laur83 beards hide so much and probably help save on so much product, if I could grow one I probably would and use it as a form of contour.
Love your words
I used to have that problem when I'd wear white/light tops/sweaters, etc. I just hit my jawline and neck with a good bit of setting powder and setting spray. Since I've been doing that I haven't had a problem with makeup getting on my clothes like I used to.
Now, makeup transferring and building up on my eyeglasses is a different story. 🤦🏻♀️🤓 My foundation/concealer always gets gunked up on the frames where they sit on the bridge of my nose. 😐
surely he unzips the top most the time and just zip it up for video/being out 😂
😮 I remember a very long time ago, an elderly Chinese lady told me she ground up actual pearls and mixed it in with her cream eye shadows. I've never tried it, because I'm not rich, but she always looked fabulous.
That’s amazing! It’s super easy to find pearly pigments now. I was just thinking about this the other day, in art supplies we now have Pearlized powders instead of just glitter, and water colors now come in a shimmery pearl. Kudos to that lady for being a pioneer 🙌🏻
The way your face lights up when you are passionate about makeup product is me with my favorite donut 💜
It's me watching this whole video!! Cheers! 🍩
@@LunarEleven love is love 🤣
Ok whitwillie, I gotta know, what's your favorite donut??? Extremely fresh plain cake is #1 for me, then a maple long John, then a vanilla glazed crueller (I love really old fashioned donuts lol).
@@montananerd8244 I almost asked that too but I felt dumb for some reason 😂 fresh, hot plain cake are one of my faves too, and cold ones are the worst... They're like french fries to me. Classic glazed still warm are also great. My favorite is hard to find, fresh glazed filled with cream (not sweet, not artificial, not vanilla pudding they call "cream") I don't like too much sweetness... If they're coated in icing I can't eat 6 at a time 😢
@@montananerd8244 oh maple long Johns are delish too, dunno about @whitwillie but I think you and I have the same tastes!
I also love funnel cake, used to make them at home all the time :)
So refreshing to see a Professional Make Up Artist look to others for inspiration and new ideas. I think it speaks to your awesome personality...instead of thinking you have all the answers, you're open to new techniques. Love, love you and your channel!!! 🤍💙🧿
I'm so used to watching "hacks" on the Twin channel that I expected these to be bad, but they're all really great! Love the context and expertise you provide, Robert 💜🖤
Proper tips, not stupid stunts to get likes. That’s the difference there! I love your reaction to a good highlighter 😂
I unsubscribed from all beauty gurus last year to save money and not be tempted to buy new makeup. I missed your content so much! Your personality is top tier! Love your new reaction channel too! Congrats on the collab! The make up bag is gorgeous!
A red or dark blush can be toned down with a small amount of foundation or concealer as well. Another artist I watch recommended this. Edit: Great video and congrats on the collaboration.
Lol I love dark blush but it's always a task to get it right. I found some pretty poorly pigmented waxy blush at Dollar Tree, but the shades are bold and I'm super excited because I need a wax or balm layer on my cheeks in the winter anyway. It tells you how challenging these shades are that I'm choosing my Clean Beauty blush (incredible name as there is nothing clean beauty-related going on 😂) over my very lovely stila or Tarte options that do have pigment. I wish drugstore would dupe some Dollar Tree products and make them a bit nicer in formulation.
@@montananerd8244remember be careful with clean beauty products their expire quickly because they don't have the needed preservation ingredients...
Excellent tip, thank you!
@@shayshaymann113 You’re welcome.🙂
I'm 100% trying that highlighter technique today! I love highlighter under my brow. I actually have a scar under my right brow from an accident when I was a child and I love making it stand out for individuality.
I don't even own red blush because I'm so frightened of it!
I adore Katie Jane Hughes! I'm so proud of myself because that's always how I apply my lip liner!
I love red blush! I'm a super pale, neutral undertone, ginger, so with most red blushes, a little goes a long way on me, but it works really well and looks very natural. My favorite thing to do is apply a red cream blush to my cheeks, temples, and lips for a simple, cohesive look. (I can't quite claim that it's a monochromatic look because I love bronzer and highlighter on the eyes to create depth and shine.) Love you and your presence on RUclips, Robert! 💚💜
I love highlighter beneath the brow! And not just because everything I know about highlight (pre-Robert of course!) was learned from doing theater/stage makeup 😅
Loved this! I love how the pros are so generous with sharing their knowledge with us on TikTok! It’s not about “influencing,” pushing products, or making sales. Revives my passion for makeup lol
haven't seen this genuine of a sponsored video in years, you can tell w/ each product you genuinely LIVE for & use it outside this video.
So I struggled with all the “normal” blush shades for YEARS and just couldn’t find one that didn’t look strange on my skin. I saw a TikTok by Paintedbyspencer and a video by Wayne Goss both insisting that red blush is a MUST (specifically the one made by Nars). I was terrified at first but omg I finally found a blush that looks good on my skin tone. Who would have thought my shade would be fire engine red 😂
Yes I saw them both raving about Nars Exhibit A, it was sold out at several stores so I ended up buying Haus Labs Watermelon Bliss and have never looked back! Was always afraid of red blush, I adore it now.
Since I was a teenager I've always loved red blush! any other color would just look wrong on me so I am all for this "tip"
I adore red blush! I found a multi-use red powder at hot topic when I was in college; I bought it for eyeshadow but it was gorgeous on the cheeks as well. I'm incredibly pale but red blush (blended well, obviously) looks absolutely beautiful!
That little chuckle of yours has always and will always make me smile. In this video, you do it specifically after saying, "it's so stunning," at 13:22. That just makes me so happy to hear ❤
I didnt think I could adore you more than I already do, but your trepidation with the scary red blush was so endearing.❤❤❤❤
omg merit's highlighter really is the best, and their lipstick in 1990!!!!! the perfect 90s brown
I love watching your videos because we have very similar tastes in makeup haha. As a guy, I had a hard time finding beauty influencers that looked like me. All the ones that were popular had perfect skin and hairless faces, so I’m really glad I found your channel!
Also, I’m definitely gonna try that highlighter hack 👀
Robert, you look so gorgeous! This looks is so amazing on you. 😍
Congratulations on the sponsorship! 🎊🎉 Merit really does have some great products. Those were some awesome hacks! I love the way your look turned out. And the lip! Gorgeous! I struggle with actual lipstick application so I usually stick to glosses and lip oils, but I think I could do that hack. And I love the way it turned out. Thank you for another great video ❤️ have a great rest of your week! Hugs! 🖤💜
Thank you so so much! 🖤
@@RobertWelsh you’re very welcome! 😊
Lovely Robert, all the mua hacks are simply, yet effective for an enhancing look. Congrats on your collab, Merit is cruelty free ( a must for me) 💜
These are really great hacks! Tomorrow morning when I do my makeup I'm going to try every single one of these. Thank you for sharing and demonstrating these!
Hi Robert, I love this kind of video, can you please do more videos like this it’s like a master class for us who are not professional, but love makeup, i very much enjoyed watching this video thank you so much. Love Katherine xoxo
That highlight hack OMG!!! I've been highlighting my brows since I started wearing makeup 25 years ago and NEVER thought about that.
Love the subtlety of this look! Very cool hacks too. I will definitely be trying the highlighter and smokey eye hack! Thanks, Robert!!
I love the smokey eye hack, that's a really nice subtle one for work days 😊
Congratulations on another collab! So proud of you!
Congrats Robert! 🎉 I own every Merit lipstick and they are absolutely as good as everyone says.
Spencer is such an amazing makeup artist too. He actually gives useful tips and tricks that aren't ridiculously complicated but TOTALLY up your game. ❤
I was literally just browsing them and wondering if I should try one lol
@WitchOracle Hiiiighly recommend! So comfortable on the lips and I swear every shade looks good on every tone. I don't know how they managed it! Happy shopping! 😋
I picked up “Slip” along with Robert’s Favorites, it’s all so gorgeous.
I am literally rewatching one of your TikTok makeup hacks from 3 years ago right now! 😂💜
I love Merit! And Robert! What a perfect collaboration❣️ All of the MUA hacks were gorgeous too. I must try it alllll 😂
I didn't know who paintedbyspencer was but I thought he was AI generated until I googled him 😂 wow that person looks flawless
He doesn’t look real! He recommends the Elemis cleansing balm to prep his skin before makeup and in one of his videos, you can see the container was almost empty and well loved. I like him!
I adore him! He has wonderful videos!!!
Spencer is stunning and so so sweet, I love his videos!
And his makeup looks are absolutely stunning❤
I was very uncomfortable looking at him because he looks like he came straight from the uncanny valley 😬
something i find funny about the tiktok for the highlight hack is how she says the stripe of highlight “will look dated in a few years.” bestie, i’m only wearing my makeup for a few hours 😂 i’m not worried about how it will look years from now! if anything, i love looking back on old photos and seeing the changing makeup trends.
the hack was good, but no need to diss the highlighter stripe lol
Congrats on the collab! I’ve really been considering Merit so knowing it has your approval makes it more enticing!
The first two people look like they prefer more "uncanny valley" look, rather than natural.
Feeling jazzed to see experts suggest makeup application that looks like my personal normal application.
Red blush is so underrated, it’s one of my more natural blushes even though I have pale skin. Perfectly flushed or a little sunburnt if you want to go for that look. I use spark from glossier
I always dab a little blush on my chin and forehead having watched Erin Parsons do it. The highlighter in the corners of my eyes is a must!!! I love the Ciate London highlighter from you colab. xxxx 💜🖤💜🖤
I love Erin!
“The professionals” 😂 gosh I love you
This look is STUNNING on you, Robert!!! I definitely need that bundle and the price is amazing for what you get and how good the brand is. Thank you thank you for always giving us the real real when it comes to makeup.
I just started playing and experimenting with make-up: I love it all, each and every step. It's like I'm falling in love with myself again! !!!! Thank you for this video! I love your giggle during the highlighter tip: it's like you're falling in love with *yourself* all over again!!!!!! 😍🤩😍🤩
I appreciate this curated collection of tips, I want to try them all! Thank you Robert!
YES, red blush is flattering to everyone! I’ve been saying it for years! And Kevyn Aucoin said you should dot blush on the chin & forehead too.
Red blush looks good on everyone! A cream or liquid one works better because you can control the amount. A great hack if you don’t own one is use a non sticky red lipstick or tinted balm.
This video was so great . I love that you took the time to show us how to use the products that you selected for your bundles . It was a tutorial and a demo . Love . 💕
I absolutely love your reactions when you get really excited about a product or new technique, it makes me smile every time.
That halo highlighter trick is so dangerous. Used it for a while and I got compliments ALL THE TIME
I’ve been using the highlighter and lip techniques since this video came out and getting loads of compliments.
Omg I loved your reaction to the blush hack!!. So adorable!! ❤
Merit lipstick in the shade “Tiger” is my ride or die lip colour. I’ll be buried with it. It has a translucence to it that is just gorgeous.
I always liked how Spencer has dark skin black women in his videos. I go to his videos sometimes to rewatch how to glam up
Yea he’s a true artist and it’s great to see him show his skills on so many different types of people
I'm excited to discover him! He's beautiful and his ideas make sense.
Ooh, I just watched his glam look on mature skin, and wow!
Oh Robert! A little dip with the shadow UNDER the eye opens the eye right up! I can't believe they stopped doing this!
I must say that these are my favorite kinds of videos.... what I love about RUclips. I remember when highlighters became such a big deal, and my husband, who never notices anything, said, "You have stripes on your face!" I went back to the mirror and took it all off. This application of highlighter makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE!!! You don't "see" the highlighter, the makeup just looks beautiful!! And, my two men I watch on RUclips are YOU and Spencer!!🖤🖤🖤
13:24 that's what genuine joy sounds like :))
I love cream products, but even with the best skin prep, some make me feel dry. Great to know there are good products out there to help retain or add that hydration. Beautiful look today!
I love the giggle Robert gives when he loves something a lot; it just makes me happy :)
Merit is the perfect brand to be sponsoring you because of the simplicity but the quality and functionality of these products. I absolutely love the concealer. I was surprised not to see that in the essentials bundle.
Thank you for your real real reactions! Breath of fresh air to see someone tell it like it is!! ❤❤❤❤
I love this you made them all look so amazing and you are just the sweetest person ❤
Love hacks that actually work. Looks really great, Robert
I’m feeling incredibly influenced. I want the essentials bundle so bad
You are so adorable when you find a product you love. 😊 have a great week Robert. & thank you for all the uploads.
I'm 41 (and spectacular) Merit products are the best for fine lines. So so worth the money. Great tips
Love Merit, and love Robert! Wasn’t expecting this collaboration! ❤
I love that you recreated pro mua hacks! Please do more of these!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video and will be trying these tips, especially the blush tip❣️
Love the final makeup look! What great hacks, I will definitely try them
Had to have this! So excited to get it in and use your favorites. ☺️
Just tried these. It looks stunning. Thank you Robert 😊
I'm loving these ideas.
even though it's outdated, i still highlight under my brow as i have hooded eyes and it gives the illusion that my lids are higher.
I still love it!
Congratulations on your collab with Merit!
I was just looking for that bronzer technique last night, and then get on today and you’ve already made a video about it. You are the best. ❤
These are really valuable series tysm Robert
Thanks for the great demonstration - if I’d only seen the first two gentlemen’s demonstrations I would never have tried it. There’s something to be said for moderation!
Thank you! Such a great subtle smoky eye!
Congrats on the collab with Merit!! I love their products!! Great video!! So many good tips!!❤❤
Congratulations on the collaboration that's awesome 🎉🎉
I love you Robert and always admire/appreciate your videos. I bought your Sigma brush collection and now I just bought your merit favorites. I sent it expedited and can’t wait to use it! Thank you as always
I've never had anyone sell me on products the way you just did! This video was very creative 👌 ❤
I adore these products on you Robert!
i love the highlighting technique. will be using that from now on
I saw your pro Mua reacts video and was dying over how great you looked. And here we are with the techniques! You look stunning! That red blush is beautiful
Oh NICE! Had no idea the way I love to do my highlight is an actual professional's favorite way! And the red blush thing????? I am SUPER pale but I LOOOOVE red blush! Now I feel vindicated🤣🤣
Ordered the favorites set! I want to try out all of these techniques and this was a good chance to try a new brand and get outside my usual color palette. Excited to try the concealer the most.
congratulations on your bundle with merit I've never tryed anything from them so I'll deffinatly be buying the bundle 🎉xx
Thanks Robert, some great tips there and congrats on the collab. Love your content
Congrats on the Merit favourites!!
Robert, I just started using a powder puff to apply my concealer and I'm so amazed at how diffused it makes my makeup look, even better than a sponge. Thank you love 🤗💕
I love Robert's super colorful makeup looks but this is also really gorgeous!
That highlighter hack is STUNNING! I’m gonna start implementing that in my routine now!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍
The Merit blush and highlighter are in my constant rotation! The highlighter is PERFECTION. Beautiful curation and congrats! Ive been really wanting the bronzer stick as well 😊
You are amazing ❤ my favorite RUclipsr and human 😍 if i need to know TRUTH about a product before I buy i come here!!! I appreciate you ❤
I would love love to see you do a cushion foundation comparison for dry mature skin
