    I've always been so confused about why people hate pores so much in the beauty community, I grew up learning about how we should clean our skin to keep our pores clean (at least not clogged) and no one has an issue with it, so its very intriguing to see how people hate such a natural thing so much

      People don't hate pores, they hate visible (open) ones. Pores can become visible for a variety of things, but usually it's either because they're clogged, or because aging has made the skin less elastic and led the pores to hang open. Either way, it doesn't look good at all

    • @makeupkoala
      @makeupkoala 3 года назад +6

      @@lorimoore5589 I have the one you are talking about, and the good thing is that the brushes dry pretty fast because you spin all the excess water out at the end. Im a licensed dermatologist and her foundation sits on her skin because she is dry from the inside! She needs basic skin vitamins like a,b,c,d,e twice a day everyday with 12 oz of water each time. In 2 weeks it will completely fix itself!! Type and condition are major factors that determine how your skin looks. I use vitamins and tons of water and use daily microfoliant once a day with a rich lotion and can go days without washing my face (i have kidney/ liver failure) when im sick and have no break outs or flakes. The first step is the basil layer where all skin keratin is made. Giving your body energy for skin cells increases collagen and elastin that keeps skin tight,soft,bouncy.

    I wash my brushes with Dawn in the sink as well. But I don’t dry them standing up or in the dryer. I just let them air dry on a towel after I rinse them. I’m no makeup guru by any means, but it seems logical to not place them in a clothing dryer 😬

    • @Verbsdescribeus

      Jeniffer, I ruined a few brushes by sinking them completely under the water. The glue wears out quickly if you do that and also they need to be dried horizontally not vertically so the water would not touch the glue that holds the bristles and the handle :)

    • @raerohan4241
      @raerohan4241 3 года назад +15

      @@Verbsdescribeus Exactly. Best method is to use bar soap. Wet your brush, swipe them a few times on bar soap, then scrub on those textured cleaning pads (actually, even just the back of your hands works, though it'll take longer), then rinse under running water while still scrubbing. Repeat if necessary. Could use liquid soap as well, but bar soap is cheaper while being just as effective. And I also air dry on a towel, but I stand them up instead of letting them lay flat. Above all, don't let any liquid go into the barrel, and your brushes will last so much longer

    Hi Robert, I have struggled to find a foundation routine for my mature skin. These are the changes that finally worked.... use a hydrating primer, then a pore filling one (Elf Poreless Putty), I then used a small amount of concealer to correct under the eyes and cover spots. I then mix a bit of a more dewy foundation into a matte one, and apply a very small amount- I use a brush to "pat" it into the skin, then go over it lightly with a sponge. I only use the tiniest amount of powder just under the eyes (I like the Hourglass Translucent Veil powder.) Just thought I would share this for any people with mature skin, just in case something in this routine might help someone!🖤🖤🖤

    • @raerohan4241
      @raerohan4241 3 года назад +3

      May I ask why you mix matte and dewy foundations? Wouldn't just a dewy one be enough, with powder on top to dull the shine? Or a satin finish one if you're looking for an in-between finish?

It distributes the product in a thinner layer and I end up using less and it covers pretty well. I let it sit for a bit and then buff it in. I don't need powder to set it since it dried down. Applying a matte setting spray to my brushes also helps with setting makeup (saw that tip from Jackie Aina)
