Thanks Vince for sharing such great insight and information! Trying to find another PA willing to help educate and or mentor has been excruciatingly painful! Your videos have helped to answer quite a few questions. Keep doing what your doing! It's a great help and needed in the industry.
As a former carpet store manager now PA you are right on about the flooring. Love your videos! Keep up the good work i’m so inspired. Especially when you say DONT GIVE UP! Appreciate you very much brother!
Awesome content and information as usual, I've personally delayed pushing forward in this profession because I only have basic Xactimate estimating experience due to my current profession of being an IA in the Automotive industry, at times we do run into claims for property damages where someone drove thru their garage door, or hit the side of a building, or store front etc. The scoping part isn't the challenge, the challenge for me anyway is transforming that scoped information into the estimating software correctly. There weren't enough claims or instances to pursue Xactimate training in that market for myself, and no team to turn to or rely on for guidance. What you provide is priceless. Thanks so much Vince.
Thank you for the kind words. Writing in Xactimate is not hard and something you can pick up rather quickly. The hardest part of this business is finding the work. With that said, once you make the right connections, the work will start coming in. Good luck!
Hey Vince, I'm a fairly new subscriber and I've bingewatched all of your videos and taken notes during each one. This was by far your best video. These videos have been incredibly helpful for me as I'm a brand spanking new PA (just got appointed last week) and these videos are a tremendous help for me to get started. Already clicked the link and signed up for the guide. Keep cranking out these videos and I'll keep supporting. Thanks again!
Nice vid Vince! I'm a new PA starting out in Michigan. Getting my level 1&2 Xactimate cert this spring. I'm currently a commercial electrician looking to start a lucrative business in the next year and help out a lot off people!!! 👍🤗
Great video, always take time investigating the damage slowly to get to know the property's damage and discover more damage it's their you just have to slow down to catch all the damage.
Roof measurements or exteriors measurements in general, check out HOVER. Super easy and quick measurements. Down side, is there is a cost. Worth the cost in my opinion.
Love your work. I am moving to Palm Bay Florida from NY. I have a licenses in NY and Fl and level 2 Xactimate Cert. Not sure about IA vs Public Adjuster direction.

Photo Id is awesome. You can label your stuff on the browser and export as a zip. You can select which folder to take the photo in. E.g: you’re on the left elevation and forgot to snap a photo of an item in the right elevation; pick Right and snap. Bonus feature🎉 voice labeling. Hold the shutter button and it takes the photo then it prompts for voice dictation. I’m not affiliated.
Network! Network! Network! You need to know commercial realtors and try to meet the people who own these buildings. Also property managers of condominium associations are good to know as well
Lol I understand how you would come to that conclusion. We are forced to negotiate in order to come to a resolution, but I will note that there should not be a single line item in a PAs estimate should not have a reason for being there.
@@CommercialClaimsShow I totally understand and just subbed your channel. Your going in as a PA knowing that the carrier will whittle down your number no matter what. So, if you can logically argue a line then put it into the estimate. What's unfair in the industry is that the carriers influence their staff adjusters to keep costs down at the expense of their customers. Which is unethical on the staff adjusters and carriers part. That's why they like to hire anyone with a degree, degree = student loan = slave. I just passed the NC adjuster exam and am looking to be an IA. I've been doing FEMA residential adjustments a few years, 1,500+ in the bag so far, and have a Construction Management Diploma from NC State (not a degree lol). Let me ask you. Is it difficult to get daily claims work as an IA between disasters?
@@codyp8728 Thanks for the sub Cody! I really don't know much about the IA world, since I was never an IA. I'm sure if you looked around, and you have the skills, you can pick up some work somewhere.
I like your enthusiasm but it’s certainly apparent you were never a contractor. FYI the “door casing” around the room on the walls is “ chair rail” and much more expensive.
Commercial Claims Show lol. I wasn’t trying to put you down. Just reminded me of my days before I was a contractor as well. We all learn every day bro. Keep up the good videos.

Same! All the PAs forgot how to be humble and how they once needed help too. Am here in youtube looking how to start.

Google Earth Pro is free and allows you to measure the roofs area, then you can multiple that figure by the slope factor.
Great info. Thanks William!

Great video- will be watching all of them
Thanks! Enjoy!
That was four years ago. Do you have an update for measurement devices now?
@@Ljoosepson Yes there is actually an updated video, but I have not changed the way I scope a loss lol
Great video! I'm new to this. Please explain what you mean by "10% drywall."

As a PA I don't really understand the argument for R&R doors when painting, D&R makes sense.
You shouldn't R&R doors, you should always D&R and paint
@@CommercialClaimsShow I think you accidentally said R&R doors when painting walls in the video
@@CommercialClaimsShow What does D&R stand for?
I really appreciate all your information that you are sharing with everyone, god bless you brother!!

Hi James! I believe I have a video about the difference of an IA and PA might. Might help you
(:
How do you generate your accounts as a public adjuster? How do clients find you? Thx.
Mostly networking and word of mouth. Got to go out there and meet as many people as possible. Eventually you need some great people willing to help.
I want to become a public adjuster what website would you recommend me to get started . Thanks any help will be Appreciate it

For pictures do you use a cell camera or a regular digital camera ?
I just use my cell phone. I have a galaxy so all of my photos are saved onto a memory card. Helps a lot when storing all of these photos.
What % did you use for overhead and profit here in florida?
Do you use a photo software to label your photos? If so, which one?
I actually do not. Something to consider in the future.

How would you recommend someone new getting into the commercial side

We use Itel for to find out what kind of material and price
Can you do an exterior scope for wind/hail damage?
I should definitely do a video about that one day!
Sounds like Public Adjuster job = inflate estimate, Staff adjuster job = deflate estimate, and Independent adjuster job = fair estimate lol
