To verify if an online Adjuster CE course is recognized by your state, first check the course provider's accreditation on their website. Then, confirm this with your state's Department of Insurance. They maintain a list of approved courses and providers. Additionally, look for course approval codes and check reviews from other adjusters. Remember, requirements can vary by state.
Just helped my boyfriend study for his PA in IL, he’s already working as a project manager at a company and moving into the PA roll. I studied so much with him I want to test and try to make some side money off it without losing my current job Is that realistic? Just as a project manager knocking on doors offering free quotes (for the PA) he’s gotten like 10 sales in a month. Sounds super promising for him once he becomes PA.
Great job, Mary! That's an excellent start! Like him, I began my journey with a networking approach, similar to 'knocking on doors.' I highly recommend maintaining a side job while you're still beginning your journey as a Public Adjuster, as it won't be a successful day every day. Start gradually, and once you feel confident and established, you can shift your focus entirely toward the Public Adjuster role.
I am looking into getting my public adjustments. Because I started my own roofing company. I am really tired of them trying to shave when they are supposed to pay for things. Where I live comma there are not very many public adjusters that I can lean on for guidance. Are there any courses out there that can help teach me the methods and show the tools that I can use to combat the insurance companies with? It is very dog eat dog here, and these guys aren't gonna give anything.

I'm in Washington state. Started in AR collections. The job grew into water restoration insurance claims coordinator and collections. Essentially the same kind of job...I help the water restoration customer work with the insurance company to get the max payout. I need more in depth knowledge about how to work claims, etc.
Thank you for all the good info. Do you know any companies around KY, OH, IN that are legit and good companies to affiliate with? I currently have my license with a company that I get absolutely no support from. Thank you!
Glad this video helped! There are likely many public adjusting companies in your area. You might want to consider searching for them to find the best match for your needs.
Great question! You can self appoint, but you must be self appointed for one year. If you are appointed to a firm however, it only has to be for six months
The first year of trying to be a PA will really really challenge people and very very few make it pass that threshold . That’s why there’s only 1,800 Public Adjuster in the entire state of Florida currently. Florida has a population of 24.4 million people which that equates to 13.6k customers per one public adjuster. That means there’s tons of opportunities to make money. So it can be done but you must be a true self starter and it can be done but all else will fail. The opportunity is there the question is who will rise to the occasion. It’s the best job like Vince says in another video. Hope this helps.
Hello . Im working my way up to get the license for PA in the state of FL.For the 6 months apprenticeship Im planning to work for a Public Adjuster (not a big company but for an individual). My question is : Do I get pay while in apprenticeship or is at not pay while learning for 6 months?anybody has any information about it? I will greatly appreciate .
Hi Emil. There is nothing that I've seen that states a PA Apprentice cannot be paid. Only that an Apprentice cannot execute contracts. All contracts must be executed by a fully licensed PA.
Should I become a desk adjuster to learn more about insurance before coming a PA? Currently just graduated FSU and I just got a job working for a home insurance company. I know it’s possible to move up in the insurance industry but becoming a PA has definitely spiked my interest.
It definitely does not hurt to work on the inside first, but it's not necessary. If you find the right PA firm to work for, you can learn everything you need and get the onsite experience while working as a PA.

Amazing video, thank you so much!! I know you recommend starting your own business, but if we just want to make some extra side cash, do you think it’s a good idea to work as an independent contractor for a big company like Metro Public Adjustment?
Hi Genesis! Sure, that's perfectly fine. You will be paying more taxes by being an independent contractor, but if you're doing it on the side and not making too much income, it might make more sense than opening up am LLC or SCorp

Public adjusters in most cases are terrible for insureds. They take cuts of $ from you claim that you need to get your repairs completed. Most companies will work with your contractor to get you taken care of. Avoid these guys, they like to tell you they are looking out for your interest, but are they? Check the contract, what is their cut? Heck appraisal is actually less costly for an insured. If you have trouble with your insurance company look into the appraisal clause if you have one.
Hey Michael. Thanks for commenting. As you can imagine, I respectfully disagree. Using a PA will normally result anywhere between 50-800% more. I do agree that "most" not all insurance companies will work with your contractor, however in most states, a contractor cannot act as a PA, and therefore cannot negotiate on your behalf, and cannot quote policy language (like a PA will), when trying to successfully win am argument against the insurance company.
