About Aloft:
Aloft is a sandbox survival game where you must survive on islands floating around an eternal hurricane at the center of the map.
Build your base and sail the winds to discover new islands and find new resources, technologies, and equipment upgrades, while fighting back fungi corruption.
Learn more about your origins as you uncover secrets from the ruins of a civilization long gone, and find the answers to their demise by reaching the highest altitudes and braving the challenges of the hurricane.
Creative Sail Crafting
You have ultimate freedom when the time comes to craft and build sails for your island. The height and width of masts can be adjusted, the sails, rotated and expanded, and custom sails allow you to move anchor points around and inflate/deflate the cloth, letting you craft any decoration your mind can imagine. The sails you craft are then used to navigate your island around the map, navigating the wind currents and jet streams to move faster.
A life in the clouds
Craft buildings to protect you from the harsh wind, or that let the wind pass through, build bridges and zip lines to move quickly across your archipelago of floating islands, farm crops and raise animals by gathering water from passing clouds, erect windmills that will automate your machines, and gaze at the beautiful scenery. Jump off and fly freely using your glider, dancing with birds and clouds alike.
Cleanse Corruption
Some islands are corrupted by a dangerous force of nature in the form of a fungi infection. Dangerous and colorful mushrooms grow on top of the contaminated flora, and animals are victim to the corruption. Learn how to develop treatments for the various forms of the fungi, and cleanse the corruption from the islands. By healing and freeing the ecosystem, get access to new animal companions, livestock, crops, and resources.
Brave the Hurricane
The giant hurricane in the middle of the map hides the answers to your past and future in its eye. Rock fragments, lightning strikes, toxic spores and freezing temperatures make the journey through it difficult. If that was not enough, the bellows of ancients leviathans can be heard through the storm.
Wind Automation
Build windmills to harness the power of the wind and automate machines across your island. Optimize your windmill placement and hunt the best winds to power your production. Create automated oars to move your island, machines to craft advanced resources or even traps to protect your islands against enemies.
Island editor
Create your own island in the Island editor. Save it to appear in your game or export it to share your creation within a friend's game!
8-player co-op
Jump into an adventure with up to 7 other friends, and conquer the skies together. Chain off attacks while fighting as a group, take on a meaningful role in your day-to-day activities, and help your team sail and find new discoveries while exploring.

You should've read the text above the stones it read: "Our teachings are over, come find us in the eye of the hurricane". So there was no more to learn, just the mission to go into the hurricane.
Task failed successfully
I also noticed that
So, that's why the game said the demo is over now, that makes so much sense now! I never noticed that.
@@Lofi.z34 that's why it's a demo this way they have constant testing being done.
Feedback is very useful even this early but I get where you're coming from.
@@Lofi.z34 Search up Scrapmechanic where this happened regardless, that game is still on earth even though way to many people are impatient. People should learn that good games take time. Another good example would be Techblox/Robocraft2 which was released in prealpha & still has the hype going around.
So I doubt the game would fall off the face of earth but I get your point.
I was hoping to see another episode of this series. I’m working towards being an airline pilot and an aircraft engineer, so seeing massive islands fly around brings me a newfound level of joy
Imagine Editor not putting the sound at all and RCE just reacting as if there were sounds. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
yeah poor editor all that sound-less-nes
poor smichael☹️
and removing the part where he said the editor would put it in
@@TheHenirik no, you leave that in to make people seem crazy...
I’m 28. It’s 9:45 in the morning. I’m laying in bed after night shift and I’m giggling like a school girl at your editor and his premium edits. I believe, in the UK, you would say “fair play editor, fair play”. 🍻
Final release Audio settings are going to include options for sound effects “original “ and “RCE”
I don't know why i am so addicted to Aloft. It is sort of satisfying to play and watch..
Nearly the same profile picture
But i am addicted too
Aloft seems like being heavily inspired by Worlds Adrift with effectively the same premise of sky islands and players travelling between them. However, in Words Adrift you were building your airship rather than turn entire island into one. Worlds adrift are unfortunately dead by now.
hopefully it's an attempt to basically revive the concept. World's Adrift was really cool, and i wanted a lot more of that kind of content.
@@TheAruruurip worlds adrift :< that game was so neat.
Why’d you gotta tell me about that game? I didn’t know about it and now I’ve looked it up and it looked so cool. I’m sad I never got to play it now.
Matt, approaching the massive, terrifying storm: "This is so cool!"
That was probably the most fear I've ever felt in a youtube game video. Massive, quickly moving objects are worse than anything else
It's a storm chaser's attitude. imo, strong thunderstorms are amazingly beautiful. Thunder, lightning, heavy rains (when it's not in a region that will have devastating flooding because of those heavy rains) and the noises of those interacting with everything is just magical.
You should check out IGP's newest gameplay video (Kaiju one). It's not a very great game but still it's scary because massive monster (Kaiju) is kinda hunting you.
@@TheAruruu Don't get me wrong, I AM a storm chaser. I ride bikes in a thunderstorm all day, jumping from treetop to treetop if that was possible. (Oh, I wanna have a hoverbike)
But things like tornadoes, mid-sea whirlpools, tsunamis, black holes and other supermassive moving objects make me assume the fetal position
@@BierBart12 then I imagine jupiter is your worse nightmare lol
@@IcyAtticus-w- It really is
It is insane that you *can* deliver new videos to us daily while keeping content at its best. Never change, Matt!
Well actually I'd prefer someone taking more days to make a video if it turns out to be better content that way. Without the pressure to daily create something and all.
Matt decides to venture into the tornado. Meanwhile, in my head:
*"I am the storm that is approaching"*
It's a literal tor-nado, and it doesn't get any of the recognition that fish-, truck- and other types of -nados get!! Especially with the glider-/tor-nado-ception at the end!
I remember *respectfully* yelling at the phone when he was picking his islands, trying to get him to choose an island with a water source 😂😂 it was hilarious how much it bothered me lol
Challenge: Can you break the sound barrier with your island??
I found this game via RCE and Blitz and completely fell in love with it. I'm on the Discord for the game and can say that the devs are really cool and responsive. Based on some of the stuff they talk about, it looks like there is some REALLY awesome stuff in the works
You can build poles for extending your windmill power lines, but since the poles can connect to each other and don’t actually require a windmill to connect with, you could use them as decoration for something like a suspension bridge or tow cable!
I used them to make a floating ship that pulls an island!
I don't know how RCE hasn't played Satisfactory yet. It would literally be an engineers wet dream for him. He could get so much good content from it.
For as many times as I have seen a Satisfactory comment, I am pretty sure RCE has as well. Couple possible reasons I have come up with. 1) He sucks 2) He can't hack it 3) He was actually an architect IRL.
He’s streamed it, check out the archive channel
So glad the editor made those sounds come in, another fantastic and entertaining video from yours truly, Real Civil Engineer, love your work man, keep it up . Your community loves you !
19:40 i think its because you need something before it tells you what new thing you got or there is a limit to how much you can learn using that thing because i think you would not have instantly unlock those objects before
This series is so entertaining!
What A LOF(ly) game xD
Cant wait for the whole game to come out. You should definitely make it video about that!
Currently playing the most recently updated demo. Absolutely LOVE this game! I'm very excited about the full release. I'm still in complete awe over how much is available on the demo. It appears I've come to the end of what I can learn in-game, but I haven't even completed unlocking the outer ring of the map! Love it!
Let's all just take a moment to appreciate RCE's editor, the best editor
I love the realism of the eye of the hurricane.
This man really just pushes games to its limits and go where you’re not supposed to go all while entertaining us lmao
Oh my. Very satisfying to see the inside. And it wasn’t click bait at all. Which even adds more the my loyalty to watching you
This game is really interesting ngl. Looking forward to the full release
Having sky islands be the central part of the game is pretty cool!
Absolutely loving this series and game
I can't wait for more of this. Good luck and god speed devs!
at this point I think Real Civil Engineer is turning into chaos
i’m glad to see you came back to this game!
excited to see Aloft on full release 🙌
"Stairway to Hurricane" - RCE
This makes me miss Worlds Adrift so much. Hopefully Voids Adrift will be able to capture some of its majesty.
Perfect timing to post 😂 genuinely needed something to distract me from physical pain currently
"The engineers are the tree, the architects are the termites, ruining your nature."
5:50 a really nice amount of logs :)
This game looks so fun! You should definitely play the full version once it's released
the hurricane made me think of V'ger from star trek. it was a structure in space that looked a lot like a hurricane but is 82 AU across which is larger then our solar system.
An earlier version of the demo gave you the new Linen Sails as an unlock once you make Linen, was disappointed to see it's been removed in some way
Maybe it's tied to a learning rock closer to the eye of the storm
I wonder if he needed to 'discover' linen before he could learn the linen sail skill?
I think that you should speak to the devs about making engineering island in the middle of storm since you made it there with your island
Really liked this series!
Knowing Real Civil Engineer, I am surprised that he didn't make a highly functional tower that is very functional.
The real hurricane was the friends we made along the way.
from my own play through, i think you found everything RCE. its a great game, i look forward to the full version being released
RCE: "Worth building a little house over my bed so I have somewhere dry to sleep."
Me: (Knowing buildings dont block rain yet) 😹😹😹
I love everything about the concept of this game.
It's like sailing... but in the sky :V
I really like watching you play this game. This and the timber born series should get me by until opensewers comes out 😄
I love the collection of weird Disney sounds. My respect to the editor!
You made a floating island into a pirate island with that bridge. Love it!
Today I've unlocked a new phobia, thanks Matt!!
This game looks REALLY exciting! Wishlisted it and keeping my eye on it!
Very cool looking start to a game
So there were small + buttons next to the sails in the crafting menu. Perhaps those were other material options and that's how you do linen sails?
Still interesting game and hoping for more of this, especially if there's more automation in the crafting in the belts and rope style.
Looks like a good game! I like survival building games!
I'm glad I'm not the only person to spend a disproportionate amount if time pushing to see what makes games tick.
I already know Matt will break the sound barrier on this game
I know you have to say "WAS A MISTAKE" to get your RUclips views, but it wasn't a mistake at all! It was on-purpose and it's amazing in there! Nice work, island-captain.
Still, I'm a bit annoyed by all this pre-release stuff. I've bought Planet Crafter and it's half a game. I knew that at the time of course so it's my own stupid fault, but why do they do this? This Internet lark was a mistake, especially bringing it to consoles, so now companies can release half a game, or even no game at all (there was that Tony Hawk game that came with an empty disk! The disk contained a downloader to get the actual game, and that's it! No data, no nothing! It was so they could sneak out a release before they lost the rights to the name, when they hadn't actually written the game yet...) I miss cartridges, where if they got even one byte wrong, it was a disaster. So they made sure not to. Games were better when they had to release them complete and working.
If you offered me the Internet over a 28k modem with no Facebook and 90% of the population having not being on it, I'd take it in a shot. I'd take RUclips with postage-stamp sized videos that took an hour and a half to download and 2 minutes to play. In fact I actually did do. Exploding whale, Internet legend.
Imagine commenting “first” and finding out that nobody cares. Freaking architects.

Allready waiting for you playing the full game
Good video! hope you had fun with this game!
truly remarkable how many times he can stare at the final stone without actually reading the message in the middle of his screen
All of your videos are so cool I watch all of your videos
love this demo. I played it after I saw your first video
Linen is used to make old school sails, but it's mostly used to make clothing and is extremely durable and breathable.
That game looks awesome!
This game is so cool I really hope you make more videos about it when the full version is released
Lovely Tornado POV. Thanks fellow engineer
There was another game almost exactly like this but I forgot the name.. I watched IGP and Icycaress play the multiplayer. There were floating islands, grappling hooks, airships. No idea what happened to that game.
The mouseover for this video is just a blender of violence and color to the caption "yeah no"
Perfect
Concept from a different game - Satisfactory. You cannot learn new recipes which would require a material until you have that material unlocked. It totally might not be viable here but you might be able to unlock linen related items after unlocking linen itself.
you can get the linnen sails by going into the build menu, selecting a sail and selecting the variety with 1 and 3
The wording on the crafting stones, now there's nothing left to learn = "Our teachings are over, come find us in the eye of the hurricane"
thanks for going thru the trouble of letting it fly till you reached the center of the storm, was cool altho it probably took ages for you
Devs definitely need to add islands inside the storm and 🤔 having all the sails and upgrading them with multiple materials will improve it
I actually felt a physiological fear response as he was climbing up all those exposed stairs...
Like Jeremy Clarkson said: "SPEEEED AND POOOWWWEEERR!"
"I want my island to be the best island that ever islanded."
This made me think of Blitz.
Aloft is so cool! Please do more videos!
Thank you editor for the sound effects brilliant
I still want to see what's at the bottom, though. Considering there's an altitude meter, my questions are "in reference to what? Is there land down there? Could you build infinite stairs downward instead of up, and see something? Does it kill you if you go too far down?" I'm super curious. Hahaa
Could you please advice how to get the full version and the evms!
Only the second episode but I already love this series
I didn't know the architects from engitopia are so miniature, and why is their island floating!?!?!
"Until I get older...." I heard that. 😂
Hurray I’m loving this series
that wingsuit looks like the wingsuit from just cause ))
in the eye of a hurricane there is quiet, for just a moment
"Anyway that is the island basically deforested, very nice to see" - lol
i hope the game releases with sounds soon
5:51 RCE missed the nice number 😔
23:20 wow look like one pic I have seen of a Nuclear Fusion Power Plant🤩
This is an amazing looking game
Great video, loved it
the editor did great job with some of the sound effects
Seems like it's got a fair bit of potential, might need more than just crafting and gathering
I would love to see you build a ship out of just planks instead of island. I'm really curious to see if that is even possible.
Thanks for the daily content 🥰🥰
how do you connect the islands together? can you even connect islands?
I just love scrolling down the comments and seeing so many wholesome comments that ppl really enjoyed Watching this video
Me too!
You have to go supersonic with the island
