As a mick thomson fan boy I love you for this. Also Idk bout him being a Rivera artist for much longer. On his insta he's tagged Mesa and omega audio. All of which I can't afford but hey a teen can dream!

Hey Ray, if you want an exact rundown on Mick's current gear, there will be some gear/rig interviews coming soon. Mick has actually not been playing Rivera amps since the middle of the Chapter 5 tour, where he switched out for the Mesa JP2C. He also moved away from the Rivera Silent Sister iso cab before the beginning of that tour, in favor of a Rivera 4x12 in a large iso road case. Starting in 2018, Mick used OMEGA AMPWORKS in the studio and has moved over to them for live use as well. The cab in the iso is now also an OMEGA 4x12.
Just found your videos after all the Jim stuff and I love talking gear, and didn't notice anyone else mention it... His Jackson V is actually a double Randy Rhoads instead of a King V. Gives it a wider body shape more suited to Mick.
Mick uses obsidian now for his amp if anyone is curious. Specifically the Obsidian 2.5 100w head & cab. I believe when perform live they use a 1x12 cab mic'd up.
Mick never used the TC100 in the studio or live. He switched over to the Mesa JP2C for live use during the end of the Grey Chapter and has since moved over to Omega Ampworks for amps and cabs (studio and live)
Happy new year dude! Nice video. Im not the biggest Slipknot fan (like them tho) so i cant tell if youre wrong, but its nicely researched. Really cool video! I think a video about Pat O'Brien would be cool. Which guitaris did he used live and on shows first, what Amp is he using today, what flamethrower he got when... I see potential here. :D
Hahaha I see what you did there!!! Happy new year big man. So far it seems like this video has gotten a lot of positive feedback, and I’ll have an endless supply of content
yeah he's gonna be a bitch to do though he has endless amount of guitars. Ill probably split it between stone sour and slipknot into two different videos
Hey thanks buddy! Yes I’m aware of I leave out pickups and pedals sand other small stuff in the videos. If I included everything we would have like 45 mins videos, and I don’t want to bore you guys with that long of contents. Thanks again for the comment, and I hope this helps! Stay metal!
Personally i love his playing (not my favorite guitarist, Dimebag takes that credit), i love how him and Jim fit everything together, i love how they add texture to music.
The reason that mick left bc rich was the passing of Bernie Sr. Once the company got sold from what I understand they didn't want to give him US handmade models anymore but imports that looked the part...
Never got into this band (i'm old ;) but knew they tore it up. GW photo shoot in '00 or so and Mick is rattling off all these YJM lines on an unplugged axe. Host goes "what the heck is this ?" Mick, "Yngwie is a god. That stuff just doesn't fit our music ". I thought that was killer.
He also played in 2001 a CustomShop BC Rich Assassin. He switched the Piranha for a Marshall JMP-1. You left out so much vital info... Stop making these vids because you sck soooo hard man! Calling a Customshop Beast a NJ Warlock?? Really!?
He may have changed a lot of amps and guitar brands/models but his mask remains UNCHANGED !! ;)
Haha yeah the same since 2004 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I always thought his old mask looked weird and I like his newer mask much better
Mick is the only guitarist that looks badass with a warlock. Especially that red one!
red240 Red yeah! It was basically made for him
What about Kerry King?

Mick and Jim's combined height is like 13 ft.
6 stringed tower
There’s a band where I’m from called 12ft Ninja 🥷....would be an interesting fight for sure haha

Sergio J I was gonna say the same thing on the Mesa aspect. I saw him post the John petrucci Mesa not too long ago
Robert Banks he went with omega in case y’all didn’t know
As a Mick Thomson fangirl, I also agree that a teen can dream. lol

great video dude love the idea. definitely stoked for a jim root video
Yessir! Jim root is already heavily requested
He also used a bogner uberschall on vol 3 And he played mesa boogies for the last legs of the .5 cycle
TheTillhammer
Tc 100 right?
Actually Mick used a VHT Pitbull Ultra Lead for vol 3 and was playing the Mesa JP2C for the last part of the Grey Chapter tour cycle.
That second picture when you mentioned 2 different Warlocks, is a BC Rich Beast.
Mick uses obsidian now for his amp if anyone is curious. Specifically the Obsidian 2.5 100w head & cab. I believe when perform live they use a 1x12 cab mic'd up.
4x12 Omega cab in an iso case
Ray, this was a real cool look. You should bring back the full goatee
He was using a Jackson in jan 2015 live in Manchester. I saw him when I was at the gig
Your vids are great, a Lot of passion! Keep them up dude. Congrats
thanks max! You've been a supporter of mine for a long time now, and I really appreciate it! Im glad this series seems to be a hit!
Stay Metal Ray its a pleasure dude! 🤘🏻
Only one thing kinda ticked me off. The MTM20 was one of the budget versions of Mick's sig Ibanez. His was the MTM1
He is also using omega amps for the upcoming album.
Yeah I’ve heard a lot of speculation about his new gear. I’ll probably do an updated video once the album is out
Stay Metal Ray I’ m not talking about any speculation or rumors, he has a bunch of videos on Instagram where he is playing an omega.
Cool gear rundown! Good idea for future videos!
Thanks don!! Everyone seems to like it so far
More of these. More of them, that's right - more.
You got it dude! Everyone seems to like this new idea
Obviously we need Meshuggah stuff; some of Daddy (Petrucci); Lamb of God; maybe some Parkway Drive. Great series and start to the new year Ray.
Ray this series is awesome
thanks Steph! Everyone seems to like it!
If you look at Micks Instagram, you can see that he's using the Mesa Triple Crown at the moment. Great video!
Hell yeah! Thanks man!
Mick never used the TC100 in the studio or live. He switched over to the Mesa JP2C for live use during the end of the Grey Chapter and has since moved over to Omega Ampworks for amps and cabs (studio and live)
any info on the Omega amps he used recently? Love the channel, especially with the recent Jim Root rig rundown.
very interesting video Ray, thank you so much
see ya
Thanks buddy! I hope you had a great new year!

Not a huge fan of the B.C Rich Warlocks but it fits Mick so good. I did love the "HATE" inlays though.
awesome gear geek moment man! loved it! have you done jim root's history yet?
thanks boss! And nope not yet! but everyone is requesting it! So I guess that'll be the next one

He switches between a lot of gear holy shit!!
I wanna see the metal hammer interview where Mick Thomson mentions Deicide
The current jackson isn't a king v but a double rhoads. Pretty good video overall!
I hope they release a pro series Mick Thomson king V
He has over 200 guitars btw. Yeah. Ik. Crazy.
Yeah I’ve heard him say in the past his collection is crazy
Interview he did w/ Seymour Duncan in Mexico couple yrs back he said over 200. I was like woah 😮😮😮😮
GreenMatrix 30seven810172324 He is an artist for a big band, it’s not surprising. He keeps gear stored across the world for when he tours.
Did Mick use his Pitbull during Vol3?
Seriously in 2020. I still have that Guitar World issue with Slipknot = Metal on the front. Ridiculous I wonder how many of those are still out there
he did have BC Rich Warlocks during Iowa
Does he prefer jackson or ibanez
Are you gonna do this with Jim Root?

You forgot to mention his telli caster it’s black and white
Oh brother
Most people look like they're trying too hard playing a warlock with that body shape. With mick it always seemed to suit him perfectly
Anyone else notice how he came full circle with the Jackson V?
