- As the heat rises so do the thunderheads.
Thunder is heard in the distance...
Soon lightning will be spidering across the sky.
Luke stands watching the storms moving his direction.....there is No Where to Run Now....he's in for a wild night.

Mine, toO!
Then you’ll love this channel. Apparently Luke lives in the stormiest place on earth! He’s always getting “attacked” or “bushwhacked” by heavy storms with lightning 😂
@@redstone5149I'm not gonna lie this whole week is covered in ⛈️⛈️⛈️⛈️⛈️
as soon as I hear the Thunder, I can feel the air getting cold 😃
Joe and his family are Canadian. They have been a joy to watch as they build their lives. It is a tragedy that he had this accident. I think he was more grounded before his brother passed away (suicide I believe). Then, it seemed he got more motorized toys and got a bit reckless. Still, I wish him and his family a full and speedy recovery!
I have recently lost my husband to a massive heartache/19 days on life support, 3 weeks later lost my niece, less than 2 months my brother. I feel for Joe big time. Even through my current losses, I or anyone does not know what he has and is going through. You may or may not agree with me but unless we are walking in someone’s own shoes 👞 we just don’t know how they are feeling.
Prayers for Joe R and many.
Thanks for the shout my friend, appreciate all you do for us. Cheers
I love camping in storms! There is always something awesome about being warm and dry underneath a shelter you created…..even if it is a tent or a tarp.
It’s not only Motorcycles, life can be filled with unexpected tragedies. Motorcycle camping and just cruising the backroads is very good therapy. I tried to mitigate the possibility of accidents by riding safely with a motto, “live to ride again tomorrow “. In the end it all comes down to risk reward tolerance.
Hello Dean, I agree riding is great therapy, I have been riding for over 45 years both street and dirt bikes. In the dirt I had only 1 mishap and walked away, however these days some places like Pismo and other spots are death traps. The street is just as fun with the twisties, coast rides, and long stretches can be great. But most of the time the other guy doesn't see you. I just lost a work associate was hit and killed on the way to work. When I ride, I always have my sidearm I live in Arizona.
@@MikeB-gy3qb A very similar story here. I lost a couple friends due to inattentive cagers. I enjoyed camping and rallies with GWTA.
His tyre's wr bold🙄
Carry a Citroen candle to burn when u have a fly problem. (Maybe 2 or 3 candles).
I worked in an ER for 10 years and saw my fair share of MVA's which included both cars and motorcycle accidents. Sorry to say that a higher incidence of Motorcycle accidents ended in death or severe disability than car accidents. That is just a medical fact. It has do with riding in a car a person has more protection around their body. A motorcyclist just does not have that same protection--even with a helmet. Whatever speed they are traveling, plus the speed of whatever vehicle hits them--it is this combined speed their body then travels until it hits a solid object. This combined speed is nearly 100 percent fatal. Then our ER was located off three major interstate highways--we saw mostly highspeed crashes too. A few city street crashes, but mainly high speed crashes is what we saw. While I think motorcycles are cool, I myself would not ride on one on the highway. Maybe on a city street with a helmet, and I have and it was fun. NOT on the interstate, no thanks!
The sound of zipper on a tent is one of the best sounds. Right up there with the sound of rain. Brings back lots of memories
So true. Instantly back camping in my mind.
You pronounced Joe’s name correctly. He’s recovering - slowly - but he puts out good content. Another good Canadian boy!
Have watched Joe R. For 5 years. Amazing outdoorsman 4 someone so young. Great adventures on a channel that has grown exponentially. Very sad situation. I hope his YT career isn't over.
Ah, two people from the Netherlands. That is why I saw Douwe Egberts coffee. That feels like home. 😊 Irma from the Netherlands
Good to hear that our brothers and sisters around the world enjoying a beautiful, peaceful camping trip video with you Luke! Never let our governments divide us and remember we are one family.
My husband and I used to be storm chasers back in the 80’s. So exciting!
Joe Robinet is the absolute best. Been following him for around 10 years. Also, if you didn’t know, he was on season 1 of Alone.

I love the way you nod , no words are needed. You speak my silent language. Blessings to you and your family. ❤😊
So sorry, your loss! I've been in 46 of the continental states and two other countries camping on a motorcycle. Best times ever!
Robinette is a good dude. Sorry to hear that. Prayers!
As a deep South Texan I'm thinking 80's and 70's sure sound nice right about now. 👀 Really enjoy your videos. Gracias.
You’re the hardest working guy on you tube. Love the way you edit. Quality of the camera work.
So glad your flies dont bite! In our Colorado mountains we have biting black flies!! There a terror!!
Luke needs to come to Northern New England and sample the black flies here.
@@tommcdonald1873
Right???
Depends what areas in Colorado I’m from western slope
I like the sound of lite rain not to mention a lite rain allows it to soak into the ground for the plants and wildlife instead of running off to lower terrain.
Happy 4th of July Luke Susie and family ❤.
Joe robinet is from Ontario Canada… he was on the show “Alone”….years back.. He is the real McCoy in the wilderness 🤷♂️
I am a fan of yours. I would love to go out camping in the woods, cruise down a river in a canoe, sleep on the ground, and so on. But I can only do it through your channel and others like you. Arthritis and sciatica have slowed me down. I used to go "camping" with the military - it isn't not quite like you do. I am also a fan of Joe Robinet. He damaged the nerves in his hands and arm quite severely. I am praying for a complete recovery for him. Prayer works!!
Dude I’m in GA. My hat is off to you, filming and backpacking. Humidity and heat is no joke. I appreciate the content and hard work.
Love camping in the mountains and hearing the thunder roll in . Then its on top of you and then hear the thunder rolling away. Is awesome.
Your channel and Joe's are the two I watch the most or immediately when a vid drops. Thanks for recognizing him.
Glad you are getting rain in the mountains.
Have you ever wondered why when camping and u have a fire, it's draws all ur attention. It's. So relaxingrelaxing
Joe is the first outdoor account I followed which ultimately led me up you. He was on the first season of Alone. Super great guy. I watch your channel daily. You’re my go-to for all gear and supplies as well as when I need a mental visit to the outdoors when I’m stuck in the office.
Soaked in sweat after a long hike huffing and puffing, and still perfect hair. Impressive.
I just want to say thank you. Putting in the work to letting your German(European) followers know what the temperature in C is . I absolutely appreciate it. Thanks for the content you share with us. All the best for you and your family.
One of the things I love about you is when you talk about severe storms, then you say UNFORTUNATELY it's moving away from us. Also... I used to have the same problem with the flys, until I began showering on a regular basis. JK Strength and honor my friend.
The view gives it away. You're in one of my favorite places. Also, I've been MC camping since 1967 when I got my DL on a Triumph 500 Scrambler. Today I ride a 2006 Triumph 900 Scrambler and a 1983 Honda XL600R. Although I like hiking and Backpacking, the MC lets me get to places I wouldn't get otherwise.
You know it blows me away- how much you pull out of your backpack. And how concise it’s packed
I would like to see a motorcycle and camping trip. The wife and I used to do a lot of this. Lots of good memories !
Oh perfect! I’ve been tossing and turning all night and I simply LOVE falling asleep to thunder 🥱
Poor Joe, my heart go's out to you.
Joe R is a good guy. I’ve enjoyed his work for a few years. Very sorry to hear he got hurt. Will be praying for his recovery.
I follow Joe, he wrecked on a dirt bike.. .sadly he won't be able to do any more bush crafting. So happy he's alive & I pray he continues to improve!
He didn't say that he wouldn't be able to do Bushcraft anymore. He said it may be a little bit of time
Verified and stand corrected. I apologize.
Happy 4th my friend. Great way to end a beautiful day. Thank you. Senserely... Thank you. God bless!
My camp chores usually insist on a finding a good spot, checking for hazards like dead trees and limbs, how close a water source is if needed, then the cleaning up of rocks/sticks other debris, then I'll set up my shelter get the bed setup, then I'll get everything else going like wood gathering after that it's relax time until supper time
Thanks for the weekly adventure Luke. Great hearing from ya! Enjoyed a coffee with ya today!
Didn't know you used to be a storm chaser. That's cool. You'll have to share some stories in a next adventure, Luke.
As always Luke your videos are the best. I learn from what you do. And this set up you done I'll be doing it this winter. thanks
Can't beat decent coffee and a good meal in the outdoors. Thanks for your latest vid (much appreciated from across the pond) 👍
Hey Luke... Long time subscriber, but first comment here. I'm really glad that you mentioned Noraly (Itchy Boots). I've been one of her subscribers for a while now, and she is amazing!
I used to ride, but never had an accident. If you ride enough, you're likely to have one, and that's what happened to Noraly. She's healing up fine, and we're all looking forward to her getting out there again!
S&H my friend. Say hi to Susie and family...
Synthetic fabrics feel so hot to me. Cotton and wool breathe. I know cotton is deadly in extreme cold, but for heat it makes me feel cooler than synthetics.
I live in Ohio and it's been hot and dry here. Thanks for sharing your adventures and your reviews. Thanks again Luke for your videos
Watching from my tent as a storm rolls in! Happy 4th!
Awesome video! I do agree with you on motorcycles. Years ago, went to a funeral of a co-worker that died from a motorcycle accident. 2 other co-workers of mine were in really bad accidents, one was a brain injury, another almost lost his leg.
"Totally soaked in sweat." I just did 36 miles "up and down" constantly. Being able to find and purify water and being hydrated were of extreme importance. The thunderstorm was a blessing. The feeling of making it home "priceless." Mabye, an E-bike camping trip instead of a motorcycle would be better. Some Ebikes can get 60-100 mile range on battery assistance. The "E-cells" brand has a duel battery bike called the duel star and more offroad suitable bikes, not cheap.
I like this idea, I've been researching e bikes for a while now and just what you said is my plan. It would be awesome to have a tiny trailer for the e bike and glamping would be no issue.
@@barneybrady549 You would be able to carry more substantial gear loads than that if you were to simply ruck it in by foot.
Dual, not duel. You need a weapon for a duel.
@@danielkutcher5704you arent using your bike right then, they used to drive into each other with pointy sticks on horseback, in the good old days

Poor Luke would melt down here I think.
Douwe Egberts Coffee? That’s a Dutch brand we have here in the Netherlands 😉👍🏻 This video is a nice warming up for my hiking trip tomorrow 🏕️
Do think you can add a "filmed date" in your comments description box? If its hassel dont do it. But you said your heading out in July in a couple of weeks and its July 4 today. I know you film early and select drop dates with youtube, but a filmed date would give us context on what you are experiencing especially weather wise. I live in NC. Thanks for all you do for us.
Whenever I go camping&cayaking with my friends they always worry the weather will be bad and I always reassure them that I will bring good weather with me 😅😂Never seemed to fail me yet. However, every time I seem to watch TOGR it looks like he brings the opposite of mine - bad weather 😅😅😅
Yep Luke sometimes we make bad decisions,Joe R. Seems like a great guy,he got hi at his party decided to go around the block with no helmet, got thrown 20 feet.Severe internal damage, can barely use his hands.I hope he recovers and gets back into his canoe.
Good afternoon from Syracuse NY Luke and thank you for sharing your adventures
Teepee tents have their uses. Some people dont like them. But I think maybe they are great for at home in yard for kids camping out ? I know everyone says not much room to move around in, can't stand up unless in center where pole is in your way,, But Im betting kids would like it perhaps.. Have a Safe Blessed Day my friends. Thanks for another excellent video Luke. Peace from Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong
I thought I was answering the man below me but no worries. This is an Awesome Teepee type tent ! Lots of room. Cool
Great video I want to say we are praying for Joe and sorry to hear he is hurt. I’ve been riding for over 50 years and want to say motorcycles aren’t dangerous it’s the drunk or high fools or some AHole texting not paying attention that will kill you quicker than a New York minute. But we all have to die one day. We don’t really get a choice or much of one when that day comes all I can say is you have to be careful and everything you do today if you want to see tomorrow, my thoughts and prayers go out to Joe. We pray for a speedy recovery, thank you for sharing that. Keep up the good work.
I often wonder why, when you know rain, especially thunderstorms, in the area are likely, that you don't bring a large enough tarp to put the tent under to double your protection. It seems counter intuitive to subject the opening for the tent to be exposed directly to the elements since you brought the tarp.
He’s testing the equipment.
@@donnapatterson4615 good answer.
Had friend many years ago who lost his life in motorcycle accident. He did everything right but a car backing out onto a highway cut him off. It's not always the bikers fault. Happy 4th of July Susie and Luke.
How many have u lost in other ways ?
Sorry to hear that but really of you think about it your time comes it comes. Do not take that the wrong way please but as someone who rides I have seen people die from way less. My best friend lost his footing in the shower hit his head gone. We all take risk but you only get one life so live it.
Happy Independence Day everybody! Luke, looks like you had a great time!
Love your show keep it up 🎉🎉🎉❤😊
Canvas tents are like an Indian Sweat Lodge in the heat . Go light , tarp off if you need extra coverage. Listen to Luke y'all. 😁
As a novice, I love how quickly you set up a tarp. I would like a instruction some time on the quick knot you use. Thanks Luke! ✌️❤️🙏
I lost a friend on a motorcycle, skidded on loose gravel into a guard rail in Florida. He had been riding for over 25 years.
& I'm sure u lost family & friends in other ways as well
i absolutely love motorcycling but your 100% correct its incredibly dangerous any one riding has to make peace and accept that, sometimes you just lose. A wile back I was riding at night and a wild bore jumped out in front of me, i flew down the highway at 55 mph! miraculously and thanks to my gear i walked away with only a sore bum and enough adrenalin to wake the dead. if your wanting to ride i suggest sticking to dirt its a LITTLE safer(So long as you have ALL appropriate gear) . and there aren't other drivers to worry about! anyway Keep the rubber on the road Cheers!
Been riding motorcycles for 40 years. Dropped my bike one time. All it takes is one time. It didn’t kill me. Happened 36 years ago. Since that fall, I rode with a healthy paranoia, stayed out of wolf packs on the interstate, slowed down in bad weather, slowed down on mountain curves, prior to the curve, never trusted intersections, never did risky tricks, well, the list goes on with experience. Be careful. Luke, you’re so smart. Thank you for sharing your adventures…from east Tennessee.
Joe Robinet is awesome Luke. You guys should def get together when he recovers!!!
I was curious about what to do if I'm tent camping during an electrical storm. There is really good safety info out there about it; I recommend everyone read it and decide for themselves... but the last thing I want after reading many safety articles is a metal center pole. While metal does not attract lightning, contrary to popular beliefs, if it does hit, it needs to go to ground. I'm thinking poles on the outside perimeter would be better than being that close to the center pole. But that's just me. Actually, jumping into my vehicle would be the safest! 🤣
Snicker, you and Susie are welcomed to come North to Canada. You should like it up here as we don’t get a lot of really hot weather, just the occasional heat waves.
Another great camping video...sorry to hear about the two youtubers itchy boot and joe....my prayers goes out to them for a speedy recovery.
Saw that coffee, knew it had to be from the Netherlands!
Flys ruin everything! That’s why winter is so great!
I'm right there with you on breaking camp, especially in the rain.
This is a different style Teepee Tent that I think looks Great. So much more room in this style, great choice Luke.
That is the OneTigris Tetra 160! I could tell by the one Tent pole as it was unfolding. Next one I need to purchase!
As a dutchman, born, raised and living all my life in the Netherlands, i found it great to see you drinking the Douwe Egberts coffee!! 😅 And yes, i’m very curious how you got it! Great content, keep it up. Great 2 watch!!
I just love this kind of adventure. I am feeling the anticiapation of the storms approaching your camp. . I am here in NW WA on a hot day, it is getting toward early evening and will be cooling off soon., I hope. My husand and I used to do a lot of campng . I would be lghting a citronella “ bug bucket” candle to dirve the flies away about now., if i were there. . Your fire ilooks lovely & homey in the twilight.
In south Florida and those temps would be a blessing. Actually too hot today to go to a 4th pool party. The pool water is 84 degrees. Everything is relative.
Luke get a product called Buggins , it’s a all natural spray that keeps gnats and flies off and away from from you , it works great down here in the South with all the insects we have and I believe it’ll work for you to.
Looks like you brought the rain with you. Sure the area appreciated it.
It's other vehicle drivers who don't see motorcycles that are dangerous. First thing I was taught "Drive Defensively"
Oh good. I have really missed your little wood stove. Don't know why but I liked it despite not having a feeder hole.
Luke, I would recommend an E-bike adventure.
Life on two wheels is living!
usually first thing I do is set up the tent, situate my gear and then process wood. on the tear down I pack up gear, pack up tent and then do a "police call" for any trash that might have gotten away from me.
I only hate packing up in the rain because I have a less them favorable situation for drying my gear back home. Essentially I need to lay all my wet gear in a small toy hauler to dry.
For the flies, get some Repel. NOTHING will even get close to you if you put Repel on all exposed skin. Not even ticks. It's great stuff!
I own the bigger one. It integrates into the IGT, as well. They are very well made and easy to maintain. SP makes awesome gear.
As a bona fide native Floridian, I have two suggestions for you. Never wear anything black in the summer for it attracts heat, and always carry sweat towels with you over your shoulders. Believe you me it comes in very handy
Poor dumb kids wear black hoodys in 109 degrees in AZ because it's (oxymoron) cool.
I have the same feeling about breaking down camp. I really enjoy setup, but breakdown sucks. Maybe it's the end of camping. We love camping so much that breakdown means the fun is over. For now. Great video!
I am out in the woods in Shropshire in the next few weeks. I am planning a solo weekend .Thank you ,Luke ,for the big inspiration. Your channel is awesome 👌
This post reminds me of my last camping trip where I used my Asmoke grill for the first time. It completely transformed my outdoor cooking experience. I used to be a Traeger+ user, but the consistent temperature control and the added flavor of the wood pellets that Asmoke provides has won me over. I love the convenience of the digital controller and how I can set and maintain my cooking temperature, providing precise control over the grilling process. The fact that it's battery-powered and portable makes it a game-changer for camping trips. Also, the Asmoke app lets me adjust the temperature remotely and monitor my food's temperature, which is so convenient. The difference in the food's taste is noticeable and I love experimenting with different flavors of wood pellets. Definitely sticking with #Asmoke for all my future outings.
Luke, every time I see you setting up that little camp chair, I imagine how much easier and more comfortable it would be to set up a basic hammock with some tree straps for sitting and lounging. My choice would be a Hummingbird Hammock with whoopie slings at about 7 ounces, total.
Been watching your videos for about 4 years now and found a lot more RUclipsrs over the years but don't watch them anymore. I love your no BS policy if it's rubbish you won't say it's the best yet you will say how bad it is keep up the awesome videos and big hello from Newcastle upon Tyne England
And the DBK boys are from the Netherlands also. They started their channel when they were very young, so they have more video and knife experience than you would expect. Their production level is excellent.
OMG!!! 88 degrees?!!! I used to experience that crap when I lived in the South. I moved north to Minnesota about 30 years ago and don't have to put up with hot weather anymore except during a month or two in mid summer. I love the Fall, Winter and Spring here. And some summers are not too hot. So you could not pay me to move back to the South.
Utah's San Rafael Swell is calling you!
Nice little adventure Luke! Really enjoyed this one! Happy 4th of July! Take care and God bless..
