Haven’t camped in about 10 years due to work, and depression. But stopped drinking almost a year ago and now I’m ready to camp again, spent A lot of money on new camping gear, and the first weekend Im going out, its gonna rain… Guess it will be a good test of the new stuff. I got the big Agnes black tail hotel 3 backpacking tent so lets hope it doesnt leak!
Happy to hear you’re getting back out there. Hope you have a great time!
@Ian.. thanks, I just laugh at my luck sometimes. It’s gonna be 70 and sunny till Saturday, then on Sunday, the day I’m leaving, its gonna be 62 and raining. Riding 70 miles to get to the camp site on my bicycle. Would’ve been nice to catch some of this good weather we’re getting on the oregon coast.
Congrats on your sobriety. It’s now time to camp again!
Congratulations on your new journey in life! Just take an extra tarp if it start leaking throw the tarp over it! Enjoy the trip!
@@crystalawrey2362 Oh yea I got a tarp. Gonna be my first time setting one up but I got some of this channels tarp set ups downloaded to help.
I could listen to thunder and rain all day
And all night
Same.
Me too I love it!!
A bite of pound cake, a sip of coffee. That took me back, to the 80's. Cold coffee and a MRE .
I love the way you talk to us as if we are there with you. I also think you are the best nature videographer. Far out performing anyone else on YT. Yup... I'm a fan!👍
Luke you just saved my day I am so glad you're there I'm 73 years old and I will so bored I was actually in pain and then I seen you had a new video
Good to know you weren't alone on the mountain. Eye shine at 36.55, just left of the tree. All the best.
Love the opening time lapse with the clouds.
I forgot to comment on your last video about how much I appreciate your efforts in editing these videos, makes it feel almost like we’re there with you. Also the sound quality is amazing. Great job as always Luke. Take care and be safe.
Great camerawork as always, Luke. Thanks for continuing to bring us these videos!
I love you guys, Suzie & Luke!
I just love these episodes... I always have to come drop a like, but save the watch until later. It's become one of my weekly bed-time rituals! :-D
Luke is the kind of guy that’ll go camping while the snow storms is destroying everything around him and smile 😂
❤ I love the fact you show the good with the bad stuff whether it's gear or even just places y'all have traveled. Thanks for being real and true.
Another incredible trip. This channel has helped me get back out and in nature again. Strength and Honor
Its not a video from Luke without rain, storms, snow, ice or all of them together. lol Nice video.
Watching from the Philippines, I really enjoy watching your videos, take care always sir Luke!!
Hello Luke, just love your videos. Keep up the good work. I just had hip surgery and can't go camping this year, so I enjoy your camping.
Fall is coming here - central Alabama. We are in the 80's - from 81 to 89 days and mid 60s at night. FINALLY we can leave windows open at night and get cool air in the house. It's been such a hot summer for so many.
Great video as always. With you on the cooler temps at night, sleep so much better.
I'll never know why or how you don't get lost hiking into your various campsites...especially across the fields with shoulder high grass, without trails or trees. I am looking forward to watching this video - but wanted to comment as it started. Gorgeous countryside. Great photography.
Always the best! I have to have coffee ☕ and something to eat when I watch you Luke! Srength and honor ✊✊✊
Luke, I think you're a storm chaser. Every time I watch your videos they take place during a storm. Exciting, but how do you find that many storms?
Yeah I think Luke should get into storm chasing. But it’s very dangerous and only for absolute experts in meteorology. Unfortunately.
As always this is just another one of Luke’s fantastic videos! Thanks
Like, one of your best in terms of editing and shot selection.
Your confidence, just getting out there, is inspiring.
Nice video Luke, thanks for all the work you do making them for us.
I really, really like your channel Luke. I appreciate so much your bravery, honest and knowledge.❤
Thank you for sharing this adventure with us! Glad you are still doing these and tell us your stories! I feel like a friend!
Nice walk in camp Luke👍👍 Liking the changing weather there, it's refreshing to know there's cool weather somewhere. Being of decent quality I expected the MountainSmith tent to perform, it looks good too. Incredible shots of the skies, mountains and mist. Great video and filming, well done thanks. Camp weather incoming, get ready for cool fun.
This video is one of my new favorites! Everything looks so crisp and clear! Beautiful! Absolutely stunning. And the way you show the clouds moving over the mountains, and of course all of the wonderful sounds of thunder and rain....{heavy sigh}...perfect! Thank you, so much, for making these videos.
16:27 - "Anything could happen!" LOL, more drama over some rain. That is some great theater there.
Hey Luke, another great overnight camp. The eagle was a bonus! Let’s see if the winter predictions turn out to be true for our area. Looking forward to your first camp in the snow. Thank you for sharing. S&H…🇺🇸
!2:42 - LOL, Watching Luke getting all serious and dramatic and stuff over one rumble of thunder is still pretty funny. I have to laugh every time at how seriously he suddenly starts acting. It's like someone threw a drama switch.
Great Video Luke, When ever I see you have a new video, I get a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy the video, I never seen a bad one !
Love that you go out in storms. Love to listen to them and watch the lightning. Idk what was making the noise on the way in, if you were doing an asmr thing re the gravel or if it was your backpack but gosh it was annoying.
Really appreciated you mentioning the washes. I couldn’t pick one to save my life, so if you could go into really obvious detail that would be great. My father would just dig a big old ditch around the tent to direct the water away. Not sure if it’s a good or bad idea but he did it most every time (despite the fact we live where there’s not a whole lot of rain)
I forgot to comment on your last video about how much I appreciate your efforts in editing these videos, makes it feel almost like we’re there with you. Also the sound quality is amazing. Great job as always Luke. Take care and be safe.
Ps- to Mike Wilson , keep fighting that evil cancer stuff buddy. You can beat it!!!!
Fall is definitely my favorite season. Looking forward to ski season
with all that I've learned from you and your channel Luke, I could go camping and know exactly what I'm doing and how to do it. I love your videos so much!
I am 65 and live camping. I live with my older sister and help take care of her. I have already decided that when my living arrangements have to change I will car camp full time. I wish I could meet someone with the same passion I have for camping.
Great video Luke!
That coffee, I'd be awake all night.
That bird sounded huge!
I have to tell you your tarp organization is awesome. I've learned a couple things about proper set up for conditions and options you have.
Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe . Journey Mercies !!🙏💟
Wildlife rehabilitator here. Most definitely a large raptor that you heard. I also agree it was an eagle, as you could here his wing beats and loft on the audio. Awesomeness!
Hey Luke, I really admire your style of camping, precision packing, fastidious campsite, good show.
I was walking to my Deerstand in the dark. When I scared several turkeys out of the trees. That is what it sounded like !They are huge they look like B-52‘s going down the fire lane.😊
Awesome images, most people never get to see such beautiful images if not for people like yourself!
Spent a week on the Benton-MacKaye trail in the GSM back in 2019. It rained and thunderstormed the entire hike with plenty of close call lightning strikes and a lot of trails turning into class one rapids. My 20 year old very used Coleman dome tent had two very small, very manageable leaks the whole trip. My camp mates didn't fare as well with their newly bought mid-end tents. I had a great trip as long as I was dry at the end of the day....thanks to Coleman and an old poncho left over from my military days!
Heyy Luke the views are beautiful ,the rain sounded so soothing on the tarp, I wouldn't be able to sleep I don't like lightning or thunder, and the little critters crawling around is a no ,stay safe out there
Awesome video buddy. Looks like a fun trip into the woods and some solitude. I hope to get some of that soon. Always interesting and informing, love your adventure vids and reviews.
I love the camp site and oh that change to darkness! I love the mysterious forest. Keep up your great videos and adventures but be sure to keep safe. I am in my 70's and want to see you and Susie camping in your 70's. Auntiem 🌩⛈☔
Omg, you can literally hear the sound of it's wings!! So cool!!
My friend I really appreciate you and your channel I just love the outdoors but since my wife became Not well I am her carer and have been for the last 14yrs it makes me smile to see you enjoying the out door life I hope you and your family are well you have a great bunch of subscribers
Hi Luke!: GREAT Adventure! That tent looked pretty good! And the Alky stove was interesting!
Oh goodie another exciting video....more enjoyment
Sweet video3d storm! Beautiful time to be out!
Sweater weather is my favorite in fall 🍂🍁🍂🍁.
This is great inspiration.
Thanks Luke
Luke, I LOVE the idea of bringing broken OF Pic coils with you to ward off skeeters! Fantastic idea! Bill Doyle from Upr Grnwd Lk, NJ
Some great storm photography in this outing.
Hey Luke I am always very impressed with your camera work and editing! As a fellow creator I greatly appreciate all the work you put into the production of your adventures! Much Love Brother!
Love the storms, the rain, the fog… the caves and rock overhangs.
Awesome videography Luke & yup that was a big bird of whatever lol, love watching the variouse ways you set up your tarps , also enjoy when you test products. and appreciate the effort you put in to film these , you should be a storm chaser . I only wish I could get those meals here in Ontario, even looked up the USA and couldnt find one to ship. are fall weather in ontario is 12 and 14 celcius Burr. always love a good storm camp adventure nice to hear the tent hasnt leaked as yest. Ontario, Canada .
Excellent storm footage!
I love your channel. Looking forward to your hikes with Susie and your winter camping and gear testing. Have you ever thought about giving camping tours with small groups joining you. That will be nice, but I understand you don’t like being around a lot of people. I’m an introvert, but I would pay to camp with you and Susie. You Guys are wonderful. Also, have you ever thought about hiking in Medicine Bow, Wyoming. That would be nice. Thank you for sharing🐞👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🐞
I am a viewer from Germany and since more than a year I appreciate your channel. It feels so thrilling when you are situated in severe thunderstorms but the way how you handle those situations is amazing. This is all combined with your explanations which sound comfortable and it takes me inside the adventure. Move on and make some more of these trips. By the way it would be nice to mention also degree Celsius and METERS (Kilometers)😊
Luke, you consistently deliver very good, and useful videos.
I feel like I'm watching Storm Chaser. This guy really loves him some weather!
Hey Luke ,..I hope you and your Family are doing well in this current and Coming weather. My Wife and I loved that Susie joined you on trips and Adventures ❤..You seem more prepared than I sir..And that's saying something 😂..My Wife and I look forward to your new videos and reviews daily...we watch together at night and plan our Adventure ❤🇺🇸💪🙏.We Have time to make up from our past. Life 🙏 could be over in an instant..So live for Today and Spread Positive Vibes .❤️🩹 ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO BROTHER.. Strength and Honor 🇺🇸💪
New microphone, or new settings? I can't remember your walks being so squeaky. Wonderful adventure, and it was great to hear the flies buzz around. Thanks for the adventure. I love that you talk when you have something to say, you don't talk for the sake of talking. Perfect balance.
Great video Luke as ever, when the snow comes I will looking forward to the videos then, thanks for the few years of videos , as an older person in the UK I appreciate it,thanks from Liverpool, Peter.
From Charlotte North Carolina, hey LUKE !
I enjoy watching your videos Thank you for another great adventure!
You put a LOT of camera work into your videos! Awesome as always!!!
Thank you for all that you do. Love your videos. I can’t wait for hoodie weather. I live in El Paso Texas and it’s still so hot
Loved the intro and leading into your gear review logo at the beginning with the rain drops coming down it. Little subtle things like that really makes the video to me!
Another awesome video! Thanks Luke.
Luke, definitely i love this channel,,all you hard work in your videos..
Quiet place is nice but i love when you talk so the outdoors is my favorite.🥳😸
Maybe it will rain, or maybe that coffee concoction will give Luke the zoomies!
If I drank that coffee I would be in the hospital! Great video!
I always enjoy going along with you. I love the sound of the rain…. You take care. See you soon.
I like the cold weather
And I like watching the Rain
I camp at that exact spot most times I'm there. It's a beautiful place. Their is a gate at the bottom of the road but I've never seen it shut even when I've went up in winter time.
I enjoyed your company … thankyou 😊
Wonderful storm clouds lightening mountain views.
Looks like another awesome storm camping adventure. Hey from Seekonk MA, sunny and a nice early Fall morning.
I absolutely love your videos and I'm certainly on the same page in so many ways, especially Sweater Weather!!!
Awesome rain camping,, we got rain and storms too.. We sure needed the rain here in Oklahoma... thank you so much for sharing.
The bird did sound big. I have too say. WOW. 😮😅😊❤
The weather up on Whitetop is crazy sometimes!
You are great at this video thing, thank you for your time and you are appreciated.
Cool storm shots. I would never go out in weather like that but I don’t have to because ….. there’s Luke!
Fall season with Korean or Italian food is a great combo.
I just LOVE watching your videos! That eagle had it’s eye on you. 😉
I love thunderstorms when I camp, just they aren’t too severe and the wind isn’t too bad. Fall is my favorite season. 🍁🍂
Thanks for the adventure, Luke.
Thanks, Luke, I'm wishing for Fall weather, too. And I like those bug coils, always keep some pieces in my pack. BTW, that bird sounded to me like a buzzard flapping by (but I don't know what an eagle would sound like).
Thunder in the distance is so awesome to hear.
This is great! love your videos man!!!
Hope that this finds you in good health!
May I suggest instead of tying your guy line to a rock, as high winds will pull it free from the rock. If you tie it to a stick then place one or more rocks on the stick, it will be much more stable.
Thank you Friend for your videos I'm not able to go camping anymore and I enjoy the mountains the wild life. And when you light a camp fire it like I can smell it. I would more then love to have those wood carving tool kits.
I absolutely loved the shots you got of the lightning.
You were right again Luke, those kit bags are very nice, got one as a test and will get another 2 or 3. Also we have GOT to set up a meet with you and somebody from Death Wish coffee, I want to see you do your best "that's not a knife" impression🤣
Great videos to relax to 🏕⛺🌲
